The design of electric vehicles will require the integration of new components in the near future. This transition is a key opportunity for a more radical change that allows for a positive transformation of passenger journey experience, interoperability and integration into the cityscape. The "Design Charter for Innovative Electric Busses" presents a design vision and strategies for the ecosystem of the "bus of tomorrow" that could inspire all sectors of the transportation industry.

A lean and flexible BRT concept - the Kampala caseEric Trel
Uganda decided to develop a BRT for its capital city Kampala, to be financed by the World Bank. ROM, Arup and AH developed a lean and flexible concept that fits to local conditions and made the design for the BRT pilot corridor. The concept minimises land acquisition and minimises the need for operational subsidy. Presentation made at the UATP conference in Johannesburg, October 2014.

Innovation in city logistics Amsterdam (NL). Presentation by Walther Ploos van Amstel. Professor in City Logistics at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
Location, location, location has been the mantra for commercial real estate. But that may be changing as self-driving cars become a reality. Parking and the live-work-play experience could also be changing.
At NAIOP CREC '16, Dale Dekker, Principal and Architect of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, and Patrick McMahon of Federal Realty Investment Trust, discussed the impact self-driving cars could have on urban and suburban development.
Following an EU China partnership agreement on urbanisation, a group of high level officials from China visited Brussels in June 2015. I presented a key note on Urban mobility planning practices in Europe.
The Bournemouth University Project Management Day, an event that marks the multi-year collaboration between the Bournemouth University and the PMI UK Chapte.

Mobility Pricing: How to Harness Mobility Pricing to Reduce Congestion, Promo...WSP
Acting as a technical analysis lead for the Metro Vancouver Mobility Pricing Independent Commission, WSP experts studied the use of congestion charging and mobility pricing for the Metro Vancouver Regional District.
An eight-month study ensued and resulted in a crucial set of data categorized by geography, time of day, and pricing level. The goals of the study remained: reducing congestion, generating additional revenue for the governing body, and promoting fairness.

Ppp for public bicycle sharing and parking management in kharghar navi mumbai...Avinash Shabade
PPP for Kharghar Node (A Nodal Area in Navi Mumbai)
Navi Mumbai is one of the largest planned cities in the world with 344 Sq. km. a conglomerate of 14 nodes, these nodes are independent cities & Kharghar is one of them. The infrastructure problem faced by this node is
1. Efficient local Public transport & feeder transport
2. Illegal on street parking
To address this issue for the local development authority is difficult hence a combined, one of its kind PPP model for Public bicycle sharing and on street parking management is proposed.

One of our key speakers is Yohan Abrahams, consultant, portfolio manager at Transport for London, former president of PMI UK Chapter, whose topic is about: Transformation projects in London in the transport sector.
This webinar is intended to show how a “Smart Cities” approach contributes to achieving the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of countries and the reversal of Climate Change.
Urban growth, sustainability and needs for a greener life, are driving the requirement to make cities smarter, more efficient, and sustainable for their residents. The context is extremely challenging; characterized by growing commitments, limited resources aggravated by the COVID -19 pandemic.
Energy, Mobility, Building & Construction, Water & Waste Management assisted by New Technologies are the evolving battlefields of “Smart Cities,” as they strive to achieve the ambitious targets of a greener environment.
In this webinar Yohan Abrahams will show how Transport for London (TFL) pursues these objectives in the UK Capital, followed by Mark Cannata who will explain how Kassandra; a multi-dimensional research and design approach, is helping to take a whole-system view of the historic urban environment.
Developing & applying a successful MaaS business modelIRIS Smart Cities
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) concept and IRIS partners in Gothenburg, Sweden are transforming our relationship to car ownership, mobility behaviours and improving urban sustainability.
The EC2B mobility concept and business model is creating value for: USERS - as an alternative to owning a car, enabling more sustainable lifestyle
PROPERTY DEVELOPERS – with a sustainable mobility concept, alternative to providing expensive car parking
TRANSPORT OPERATORS - through a bigger market, opportunity to attract new customers, and
CITIES - boosting sustainable development, fewer cars and more sustainable land use
Learn about the concept and takeup by citizens, residents, housing developers and local authorities making this MaaS business model a success to inspire you.

Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Transport Demand
Achieving mode share reductions in private car travel and ownership.
Urban Design
In a scenario where all buildings have parking on-site it is highly likely that development frontages could be interrupted and dominated by parking levels and car park access.
Development Efficiency
Small development site can have compromised vehicle and car parking access which relies on car-lifts, inefficient floor plate configuration and on-street queuing.
Technology Impact on Transport
Automation and sharing
