There is a community of social influencers like bloggers who are ready to help non-profits by activating advocacy and spreading awareness of their causes. To engage bloggers, non-profits should do research on relevant bloggers, craft meaningful campaigns they can participate in, and reward their participation. By creating ambassadorship programs, bloggers can help non-profits in many ways like creating blog posts, social media content, and videos to promote the non-profit's mission. The success of such programs depends on aligning bloggers who are passionate about the cause and engaging them in impactful work.

Banish Your Inner Critic – Stanford HCI Group 2020Denise Jacobs
During these unprecedented times, we are particularly susceptible to The Inner Critic, that voice of self-doubt that tells us that we aren't doing enough and that everyone is more successful and productive during the pandemic than we are. Fortunately, there are effective ways to manage the inner critic so that we can be better to ourselves and still show up powerfully.
In this session, Denise will share useful and effective tools to decrease the levels of anxiety. We'll also look at ways to tone down the tendency to compare ourselves with others (or to an unreachable "ideal"), ways to reframe language and transform self-talk to be more supportive, and tactics to overcome impostor syndrome, perfectionism, and unblock creativity.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

36. The Truth About Bloggers
There are two kinds of bloggers:
bloggers who will work for free to get exposure.
bloggers for whom there is no way in hell they’d
work for free to get exposure (or otherwise); but
who might (if it’s for a non profit with a cause
that resonates with them).
39. COURTSHIP
Sadie Hawkins.*g
Do your homework & research the bloggers
Resources: sanantoniomomblogs.com / San Antonio Magazine, etc.
READ their blog. Most importantly, their ABOUT page.
things to note: can they write well? do they post pictures? do they have a
social media policy?
Finally, decide: are they a good fit?
40. The Proposal
The Pre-nup: define your expectations.
The only proper way to propose is by email.
(and be sure to bcc your proposees, otherwise that can be kinda embarassing... & kind of
unprofessional.)
Never. Ever. Propose...
On Facebook
On Twitter
Or on any other social media site.
And don’t misspell their name. Or use the wrong name.
54. Exhibit B
Kids Are Heroes, founded in 2008 by Gabe O’Neill and his
daughter, Mary Margaret.
O’Neill uses social tools like Twitter and Facebook as well as the blogging community
to spread the word, so creating an ambassador program to get the message out
seemed like a natural fit.
There are currently 24 ambassadors from across the U.S. and Canada, and the non
profit hopes to add more.
Quinn Peyser is one of the ambassadors and decided to get creative and use his
talent as an artist to design t-shirts to sell on his blog in an effort to help raise
funds.
57. How To Create Meaningful
Ambassadorships
Choose the right bloggers / social media influencers.
Build engaging campaigns. Together.
Reward your ambassadors
58. Know what you want and ...
Create an application process. Or not.
Are they passionate about your cause?
How much experience do they have?
Are they active on their social media platforms?
Can they write well?
Are they selective with their partners? Or are they easy?
Create a contract. Or not.
62. Blogger Ambassadors Can
Help You:
write blog posts (on your blog or on their own)
generate campaign ideas & execute them
create YouTube videos
manage social media contests/memes (Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
create webinars
do what for profit brands are doing, but tweaked for you
sprinkle your day with sparkles, unicorns and spirit fingers
76. totally off topic, but still
relevant... kinda:
Never underestimate the power of visual imagery.
Pinterest’s user base is 70% women, primarily in the 25-45 age group. The majority of them
have college educations. And over 30% of them have household incomes of $100,000 and
beyond.
Think your organization is not visual enough to be on Pinterest?
It’s all about how you apply it.
The value of Pinterest is that it becomes a referral visual, always
linking back to you.
