Game Title
Rayman Origins
Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…
Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting
The setting is in a jungle on top of a tree with a small part of the cut scene
happening underground
To make the sounds of a rainforest the people
who have created the cut scene used recordings
of tropical birds and some pipe sounds. To create
the setting of being underground
Mood
The mood is supposed to be a laidback and relaxed mood to begin with which
switches back and forth to an aggravated mood and ends in a slapstick fight
Game genre
This cut scene doesn’t really establish the genre which is a platformer however it
does establish that there is some combat elements to the game
Too set the lazy mood they use recordings of
people snoring anda sound of what seems like
someone biting an apple. To make the angry
cartoonish screams of the old woman I think they
recorded someone yelling and made the pith
extremely high. Lastly in the fight scene many
sound effects are used such as the sound of a
frying pan being hit and the sound of something
being smacked.
To create fight sounds they could have recorded
pans banging together and the sound of a
character being hit could be someone hitting
something and the changing the pitch and adding
in effect
Narrative
The narrative is that Rayman and his friends are relaxing on top of a tree which
disturbs some old woman who lives under them, the woman becomes aggravated
and gets a bunch of monsters to attack them
To show the movement of scenes the sound
changes from one feeling to another and a wind
sound effect is used to make it sound like the
camera is moving. For the wind they could have
blown into a microphone or possibly held it out in

a windy area. For the change of places they could
have just added a modifier to change all the
sounds to make it seem like they had entered a
new area such as a lower pitch or a slower
playback.
