This document provides guidance and best practices for strategic planning committees in several areas:
- Recruitment committees are encouraged to develop a recruitment plan utilizing current mentors, challenges, presentations and social media. Retention can be improved through social events, mentor support and recognition.
- Fundraising committees should create a development plan with the goal of having 6-12 months of cash on hand. Best practices include multi-year pledges, community asks, grants and partnership events.
- Match support/retention committees can help through social events, mentor resources, celebrations and identifying a mentor champion.
- Organizational structure committees should work with the Regional Coordinator and be creative in supporting program leadership.
