This document analyzes undocumented immigrants' right to access healthcare in Denmark based on a study. It finds that while international human rights law guarantees access to healthcare as a basic right, formal access to more than emergency care is limited for undocumented immigrants in Denmark. This can be seen as inconsistent with UN conventions ratified by Denmark. In practice, undocumented immigrants access more than emergency care through unofficial networks, as the options in the formal system remain ambiguous due to disagreements between laws and policies. The study indicates a need for improved and formalized healthcare access for this group.
