Shaping Effective Project Teams
Principle:
Effective teams thrive on communication and empathy — the building blocks of forging real connections. Share
personal stories.
Team climate
Characterized by interpersonal trust and mutual respect. You can count on each other. It is a climate in which
people are comfortable to speak up.
Key condition
Project team members find their collective work both fulfilling and important. Moreover, there is a will to learn
from each other.
Operational
All team members can speak up during a conversation, and will speak up at least once during a meeting. Make
sure that nothing remains unsaid. Keyword: candor. Really listen to each other (success indicator: constantly
build on each other’s ideas and inputs). Be sensitive to how your team members feel.
