Media Plan For Izze Sparkling Soda
Instructor assignment #4: Media Plan for IZZE Sparkling Soda
The media we chose to put an emphasis on is radio, Internet and cable television. The percentages for
each are radio 40%, Internet 30% and cable television 30%. For radio we have strategically chosen to
place our advertisements on the weekday morning drive time from 6am to 10am and on weekends
from 7pm to midnight. The vehicles chosen for Internet are the websites iTunes, ESPN and iHeart
Radio. For Cable Television services we have chosen the vehicles Spike TV, Food Network and ION.
There are numerous reasons why we decided to put the largest emphasis on radio. For one, our
demographic is males 18 34 and according to the PowerPoint, we learned that males at that age are a
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the United Nations Report, 1.5 billion Internet users are male, while 1.3 billion are
female. This statistic supports our decision for choosing this specific medium. In Media Mark, we
searched both Other Regular Soft Drinks and Sparkling Water. We compared the two reports and
selected the highest reach/index numbers. The vehicles we found specific to our target audience are
iTunes, which has a reach of 35,600,000 and an index number of 135, ESPN with a reach of
36,455,000 and an index number of 111 and iHeart Radio, which had a reach of 12,771,000 and an
index number of 117. Other websites that we considered but did not choose were Pandora
(46,726,000/109) and NFL (17,898,000/110). From this research we were able to determine that our
target had an interest in music and sports. This further supports our decision to place a larger emphasis
on radio.
From the PowerPoint, we learned that Cable Television is a highly persuasive medium because it
offers sight, sound and motion. It also reaches a large audience and specifically captures the attention
of our hard to reach target (males 18 34). We chose Cable Television over other mediums because it
provides narrowcasting opportunities to focus in on specific targets. The vehicles that we chose within
this medium are Spike TV with a reach of 35,794,000 and an index number of 120, Food Network
with a reach of 56,594,000 and an

Music Appreciation Period In The Renaissance Period
Music Appreciation class introduced me to the great masterpieces along with the talented artists from
the medieval period to present. It helped me understand more and appreciate art from different periods
more than a thousand years back. It refreshed me of the music terminologies and added some more.
We re able to recognize and identify musical instruments of various kinds of music. We gained a better
comprehension of a music s texture, melody, key, rhythm, style, or form. Some music masterpieces in
the past generations live up to the present time and continues to evolve. The medieval period (476
1400) or the middle ages lasted about a thousand years. Medieval music consists of liturgical music,
songs, and instrumental pieces. The Gregorian chant was mainly for sacred music. As the musical art
progresses, plainchants transitioned into organum the earliest polyphonic texture, but added an
independent line of music to the chant. The Notre Dame School of Polyphony had two generations of
composition within this school: The Ars Antigua (Old Art) and the Ars Nova (New Art). Guillaume de
Machaut set ordinary mass in its entirety. He beautifully constructs and represents the most advanced
compositional techniques of his time: includes four voices with more ornamentation contrary motion
compares to the earlier three voice works. The rise of humanism marks the Renaissance period. The
Franco Flemish School writes music in four voices. The composers of this era use a secular tune as

The Cloning of Dolly the Sheep
Focusing on the Case
A major scientific achievement was done at the Roslin Institute because the cloning of a sheep was
successful. The sheep was named Dolly. Dolly, lived a pampered existence at the Roslin Institute. She
mated and produced normal offspring in the normal way, showing that such cloned animals can
reproduce. Born on 5 July 1996, she was euthanized on 14 February 2003, ... Show more content on

Tree genes work in bananas and frog genes work in rice. There is no limit in theory to the potential of
genetic engineering. Disease could be prevented by detecting people/plants/animals that are
genetically prone to certain hereditary diseases through genetic engineering. Animals and plants can
be tailor made to show desirable characteristics. Genes could also be manipulated in trees. B.
STUDIES Genetic engineering has been impossible until recent times due to the complex and
microscopic nature of DNA and its component nucleotides. Through progressive studies, more and
more in this area is being made possible.
Genetic engineering may be one of the greatest inventions in recent history along with the discovery
of the atom and space flight, however, governments have produced legislation to control what sort of
experiments are done involving genetic engineering. In the UK there are strict laws prohibiting any
experiments involving the cloning of humans. However, over the years here are some of the
experimental breakthroughs made possible by genetic engineering. * At the Roslin Institute in
Scotland, scientists successfully cloned an exact copy of a sheep, named Dolly . This was the first
successful cloning of an animal, and most likely the first occurrence of two organisms being
genetically identical. Note : Recently the sheep s health has deteriorated detrimentally * Scientists
successfully manipulated the genetic sequence

Strong Intrinsic Motivation
Motivation Research Paper
Why are some people more motivated than others go to the gym? To get good grades? What drives
these people to do what they do? Science says that this drive to work hard comes from within.
Although the reward and punishment system is effective for basic tasks, creative tasks require a
different kind of motivation. True motivation comes from within ourselves and we are motivated, and
often more successful, by satisfying our needs for achieving a meaningful goal.
Intrinsic motivation is doing an activity for the satisfaction it gives you (Deci and Richard). It comes
from doing things that are important to you or that are part of something bigger. It comes from doing
important work and doing work that produces tangible results. In an experiment by Dan Ariely,
participants were asked to build Lego robots for a sum of money. Each robot they built they received
decreasingly less compensation and after every robot was built the robot was placed under the ... Show

This intrinsic motivation that gets us to fulfill our basic demonstrates how strong intrinsic motivation
can be when applied. This motivation can be applied to things we find interesting or meaningful.
Studies have proven that you get more work done and are more successful when you believe your
work is meaningful and has higher impact. However, this motivation is scarce and is often hard to
find. Good quality extrinsic motivation can be effective, especially when the task only involves simple
tasks. No matter whether intrinsic motivation or an internalized external motivation is in use that
motivation comes from within. With this knowledge, we must learn to use these motivational tactics to
motivate others. The most effective and successful motivation comes from within and is cultivated
from satisfying our needs, achieving a goal, or working on meaningful

Taking a Look at Lutheranism
If you don t believe in God, you had better hope your right! All religions basically believe in one God.
Lutheranism is no exception, and as it just so happens it is very close to the Catholic religion I
practice. This paper will attempt to explain the Lutheran Church and how it came to be.
Martin Luther, a German monk, known to many as the Father of Reformation did not initially or
intentionally, start the Lutheran religion. However, his teachings became the cornerstone of what is
known today as the Lutheran Religion. Marting Luther was born in Germany in 1483, became a monk,
got ordained in 1507 then began to teach at the University of Wittenberg. Even though Martin Luther
was ordained in the Catholic Church he became torn as some ... Show more content on

If his right to grant remission in these cases were disregarded, the guilt would certainly remain
unforgiven.
2. God remits guilt to no one unless at the same time he humbles him in all things and makes him
submissive to the vicar, the priest.
3. The penitential canons are imposed only on the living, and, according to the canons themselves,
nothing should be imposed on the dying.
4. Therefore the Holy Spirit through the pope is kind to us insofar as the pope in his decrees always
makes exception of the article of death and of necessity.
http://www.biblestudytools.com/history/creeds confessions/luther 95 theses.html The gist of the
Theses were to protest, challenge and deny certain aspects of what was going on in the church. Martin
Luther s became very popular and as his ideas of reform became more and more popular, the Pope
threatened Luther to stop or face excommunication. Martin did not conform and in 1521 Martin was
excommunicated by the Pope. Hence the beginning of the Lutheran Religion. In the beginning people
did not initially want to be called Lutherans they like to be referred to as Evangelicals but their
opponents called them Lutheran s after the reformer Martin Luther, and the name stuck.
As far as the important rituals and sacraments in the Lutheran Church, many mimic the Catholic
Church. However the Lutheran Church only has two sacraments where the Catholic Church has seven
including, baptism, confirmation, confession, Last Supper, marriage,

Article Review On Human Rights
My assignment will be a discussion about Article 6 (Right to a fair trial) of the HRA 1998. I will
explore the article and define it in detail. I will explain why this article is particularly important for a
Police officer/Investigator dealing with an offender from the beginning of a case until a court
appearance. Furthermore I will discuss the possible consequences if the Police officer/Investigator
fails to comply with Article 6. Article 6 (the right to a fair trial) has been developed over centuries,
originally copied from sources such as the Magna Carta, the 1689 Bill of Rights and the common law.
(Fair Trial, 2014) But is now Article 6. Article 6 derived from the European convention on Human
Rights. The European Convention on Human Rights is an international treaty to protect human rights
and fundamental freedoms in Europe and was signed in Rome (Italy) on 4 November 1950 by 12
member states of the Council of Europe and entered into force on 3 September 1953. Article 6 was
created during the aftermath of World War Two, when motivated by the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. The universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the General Assembly of

Why We Should Have Year Round Schooling

classrooms as everyone leaves the room talking about their summer plans with their friends and

Reflection About My Practicum Experience
This portfolio is reaching its end and it is now time for me to start reflecting about my practicum
period. Last year was a great year and a challenging one as well.
When the practicum period started I was lost, I did not know where to begin and what to do and it
took me time to adapt to the new challenges I faced. Once I sat down and considered my options I
began searching for schools to do the practicum. The city I live in has many disadvantages as far as
education; on the one hand, English is not taught in kindergarten so I ended up teaching in a Language
School during the kindergarten period; on the other, there are not many qualified English teachers and
this resulted on very scarce feedback from the teachers who observed my lessons.
As time went by, things did not get easier; it took me three months to be accepted in the primary
school because of some issues with the Ministerio de Educación . Luckily, I did not have such
problems in the secondary school.
This portfolio helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. As regards my teaching
skills is concerned, now that I re read all the lesson plans I made, I can say that I made some progress.
Firstly, I learn to create meaningful and effective contexts. As it can be seen in my firsts lesson plans
contexts always caused me problems. At first I considered that using a course book was more than
enough to create contexts, which is not the case. Course books are helpful inside the classroom but

Comparing Death of a Salesman and The American Dream Essay
Comparing Death of a Salesman and The American Dream
In Arthur Miller s Death of A Salesman and Edward Albee s The American Dream, Willy Lowman and
Mommy possess the trait of superficiality. Their priorities are to look good and be liked, and this
contributes to their misguided paths to reach success. This attribute is one of many societal criticisms
pointed out by both authors. Arthur Miller criticizes society for perceiving success as being liked and
having good looks. He illustrates society s perception through Willy, who thinks the keys to success
are being popular and attractive. Willy transmits this philosophy to his sons by ignoring their
education and personal growth and setting an example that popularity is most ... Show more content

Willy continues to teach his sons his misguided values by telling them education is almost useless and
a good body is a fine substitute.
Bernard can get the best marks in school, y understand , but when he gets out in the business world, y
understand, you are going to be five times ahead of him. That s why I thank the Almighty God you re
both built like Adonises. Because the man that makes the appearance in the business world, the man
who creates personal interest, is the man who gets ahead. Be liked and you ll never want. (pg. 33)
Willy is now misleading his sons into thinking good looks will keep them alive in the corporate world
and education won t, yet Willy is a man with respectable looks and he isn t surviving in the same
world. Fifteen years later, Willy continues to preach the same theory, even after he has seen both his
sons fail in the world, having been guided by his words. Prior to Biff s proposal to Bill Oliver for ten
thousand dollars , Willy is still stuffing his sons heads with the same misleading advise.
It s not what you say, it s how you say it because personality always wins the day. (pg. 65)
Willy s final words of advise to Biff are no different than his first and no more educational. Biff, like
Willy, does not learn from his mistakes and steals a fountain pen from Bill Oliver, leaving him unable
to face Oliver again to ask for money. Willy s advice on the

The Social Pathology Of Suicide By Emile Durkheim
Emile Durkheim studies the social pathology of suicide in detail. Through the use of both excessive
and insufficient social integration we can grasp suicide in a social context. Durkheim uses the example
of suicide among Jews, Protestants and Catholics within varying cultures and social settings. This
allows us to understand the rates and causes of suicide and how they differ across the three religions.
Protestants have always had more of an appetite for suicide than the Jewish and Catholic community
(Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). It is only on some occasions
that this is reversed. Up until the middle of the 19th century, Catholics have committed suicide more
than Jews in all countries, except for in Bavaria. Both Catholicism and Judaism teach strict disciplines
in their individual religions. They both teach self control and obedience, and due to this suicide is
often condemned. Along with this, these religions are often the minority within certain societies across
the globe. Durkheim invites us to investigate the rates and causes of their suicides with these factors in
play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet here we see that they kill themselves only one third as often as Protestants (Durkheim, Emile, A
Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). In Bavaria we see a decline in the difference as
two thirds of the population are among the Catholic community. Suicides of the latter party are only
100 to 275 of those of the Protestant community (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London:
The Free Press, 1951). These statistics greatly contrast to those found in Austria, which is almost
entirely made up of Catholics. A rate of only 155 Protestant to 100 Catholic suicides exist. This shows
that Protestant suicides increase when they re a minority (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology,
London: The Free Press,

The Novel Mayflower By Nathaniel Philbrick
In the novel Mayflower, by Nathaniel Philbrick, the author educates us on how the New World was
discovered and created. It all started with a group of roughly 100 men and women who originated
from England known as the Pilgrims. The Pilgrims were sick and tired of the lack of religious freedom
and work/economic opportunities. There was no future for the Pilgrims in England. This was all until
the group set sail on the Mayflower in order to find new land. After a rough journey, they came across
a piece of land now known as New England. The Pilgrims settled here because it was relatively empty.
They believed that in New England they would be able to create a godly city or a place where they
wouldn t be criticized for their religious views. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reality, if it were not for the Native Americans, the Pilgrims would have been wiped out in a short
period of time. The first relationship dealt with economics. In the Pilgrims first winter, many died
from disease and starvation because they had no idea about how bad the winters are in New England.
They didn t understand how to grow crops successfully until the Native Americans helped them out,
resulting in less death from starvation. Since the Pilgrims were in need of food fast in order to survive,
they would have no choice but to steal corn from the group called the Nausets. The snow made it
difficult to find the corn, but eventually they located 10 catches of it. They educated the Pilgrims
about some of their practices such as how to build warm and protected shelters. But in a short period
of time this ended up hurting the Native Americans. There was a native man by the name of Squanto
who did not mind helping out the Pilgrims at all. Squanto showed the Pilgrims everything he knew
about building crops, fishing, building shelters and basically how to survive. Squanto was a very
talented eel fisherman and he provided eels to the Pilgrims so that they would have something to eat.
That night the Pilgrims at the eels with relish, praising them... He also explained to the Pilgrims that if
you plant fish in the soil next to your crops, the soil will get richer and the plants will grow better.
Even though the Native Americans

Christianity Of Philosophy By David Gilson
The Christianity of Philosophy, the title of this essay, is meant to be rather shocking, and more
startling than the phrase Christian philosophy as a whole, which caused little controversy some few
years ago among modern Christians. Gilson conceded to opponents that there could no more be a
Christian philosophy, in the strict sense of the term, than a Christian mathematics or a Christian
physics. For surely not only was Gilson right that philosophy is different from religion in its very idea,
but also as a matter of historical fact there are many philosophies, throughout world history, that are
not at all Catholic or even European.
Firstly, we must define philosophy. The Oxford definition of philosophy is as such: the study of the

Philosophy understood as what is accessible to independent reason is, in its full formalization, and
abstraction fashioned during the Middle Ages, above all by Christian theologians. One should not be
too surprised if the other and original sense of philosophy, as a way of life and a path to salvation and
understanding of how the world works and why humans do what we do and why we do them, has
been almost entirely lost to view. For few there are who consider philosophy to be a path to salvation,
let alone live out their philosophy as such. Nor do modern practitioners of philosophy who also
embrace all such faiths to think of themselves as philosophers in so far as they do embrace it.
Philosophy did not exist like it functioned in the past, not even in the medieval world that constructed
the modern ideals of philosophy. To say nothing of the ancient world, the abstraction of philosophy
was never more than a formal idea; it was not a livid reality. The livid reality, within which philosophy
was always concretely practiced with rules, guidelines, and standards, was Christianity or some other

Bachelors programs also put a broader focus on ethics, religion and spirituality, research, global
awareness and public health, as well as nursing leadership and management (GCU, n.d.). Nursing care
is focused on the assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients.
This nursing process can also be implemented in aspects outside of nursing and on the nursing field as
a collective group. The nursing role is evolving, following the process the outcomes have to be
evaluated and put into perspective. Research is being completed the conclusions are all the same, the
higher education of nursing care the better the patient outcomes. In an article published in Health
Services Research in August 2008 that examined the effect of nursing practice environments on
outcomes of hospitalized cancer patients undergoing surgery, Dr. Christopher Friese and colleagues
found that nursing education level was significantly associated with patient outcomes. Nurses
prepared at the baccalaureate level were linked with lower mortality and failure to rescue rates. The
authors conclude that moving to a nurse workforce in which a higher proportion of staff nurses have at
least a baccalaureate level education would result in substantially fewer adverse outcomes for patients.

Building Verbonia Analysis
Intelligence and physical strength is equally contributed to the building Verbonia. Leaders used bulls
and cows. The skilled had to cut, polish, and carve stone. Even the unskilled took part into building
the city. They also used mathmatics to help build the city. They used bulls and cows to help with
physical labor. The text states, In the early summer of 25 B.C. a plow drawn by a white cow and a
white bull guided by a leader of the community cut a furrow around the site. This proves they were

It says in the passage, The unskilled workers separated and lifted the huge blocks from the Earth. It
also says, The stone was usually cut with a saw. when the stone was very hard, the blade used in the

the saw ground away the stone. This proves workers used a lot of physical stregth in their job but also
had to be smart enough to figure out that sand and steel helped to cut the rocks. Leaders used
mathmatics to help build the city. In the text it says, Both were widened and lenghted, and the

Harry Potter Franchise
The Harry Potter franchise, books or movies, are classic in a variety of aspects. Whether it be from
Harry first learning about Hogwarts and his connection with Tom Riddle or actually killing Riddle
himself in the end. A little background of Harry himself, in general, is that he is like the Steph Curry
of Wizards, a protege to say the least. His parents were killed at a young age by Voldemort and he was
adopted in by Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. They are very abusive and favorable towards their
biological son in favor of Harry by an abusive margin. Harry s room was the size of a closet and he
wasn t allowed anywhere to go, receive mail and was very lonely. In short terms, Harry learns of his
ability, goes to Hogwarts and faces a variety of enemies and rival, Draco Malfoy. His ultimate enemy,
Voldemort, is ulitmately met at the end but in his time at Hogwarts, Harry makes great friends with
Hermione and Ron, eventually wedding Ron s sister, Ginny. They would go on to have three different

Participating in extracurricular activities is an expectation but with such little free time nursing
students are unable to join the clubs that they would like to be a part of and play sports.
Another way that nursing students are affected is how much harder they must study and hit the books
in many ways to get the information to stick in their brains. Katie a nursing student here at our
University, states, There are many nights that I am up at 3 am and I am studying as I fall asleep over
my laptop . Most students simply take normal classes and aren t required to go to labs that can
sometimes feel as if they will never end because they can take so long. But nursing students are
required to take a good number of classes that involve labs which is almost like two classes in one.

Survey Of Residents And Cnas
Task 2: Surveys to Residents and CNAs
After collecting the surveys I distributed, I found very vital data. I surveyed all competent residents
and all employed CNAs. The surveys asked questions based on the quality of care provided and the
stress levels from this issue. Many of the residents commented that they would like CNAs to stop in
and visit. Some of the CNAs said they could complete all the tasks if a third CNA was on duty.
I created the survey through SurveyMonkey and handed them out personally to each resident and
CNA. The survey provided very conclusive results and made it easy to get an understanding of what
the people involved in the problem thought.
The survey issued to the residents had 25 individual responses. When residents were asked if the
quality of care was inconsistent, 28% said yes, 48% said sometimes, and 24% said no, as shown in
Figure 1. When asked if they were stress out or upset with the inconsistent care 4 of the resident said
no, 9 of the residents said sometimes, and 12 of the residents said no. When the residents were asked
from their experience if employees were leaving this organization frequently, 80% said yes and 20%
said no, as shown in Figure 2. A fourth of the residents say they get the emotional care they need.
Blank Blank percent say that CNAs spend the time with them that they need while blank blank percent
say the care they receive is rushed. About 60% of the residents said that care providers seemed
stressed and always on their

Hello! We hope that everything has been well with you since we last had contact two years ago. We
hope that this letter find you well, and we come to you with no malicious intent with the hopes that
you would hear us out. We have experienced immense growth and have had ample time to reflect
following the decision to terminate the DC Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical

The Cultural Culture Of Japan
In the world today, we are exposed to many different cultures; America is a great example of this. It is
a giant melting pot full of many unique people who bring their cultures from around the world.
Thanks to them, we have little parts of towns that are chock full of their culture, like China Town and
Little Italy. We also have them to thank for all the different types of food and styles of cooking that
they have brought over. But what about the cultures of other countries, have Americans influenced
their culture like they did to ours? One country that really interested me in answering this question
was in Japan. Japan is packed full of culture from their old traditions of their new futuristic culture and
has Americans have any part in their pop culture transformation?
From the earliest of times Japan was full of culture. The Nara period, which is the years of the history
that covers from 710 AD to 794 AD, was a big year for writers. During this period some of Japan s
literary monuments were written, including the Kojiki and Nihongi, the Man yoshu, also known as the
Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves, and the Kaifuso.
Another major cultural development of the era was the establishment of Buddhism in Japan.
Buddhism was first introduced in the sixth century, years 501 AD to 600 AD, but had a mixed
reception until the Nara period. Shomu and his Fujiwara consort were fervent Buddhists and actively
promoted the spread of Buddhism, making it the guardian of the state and

Computer Forensics
When the idea of using personal computers came out, many people laughed and wondered what
anybody in their right mind would want with a computer. However, over the course of the past two
decades computer technology has evolved so greatly that it is now rare not to find at least one
computer in person s house. Even with some of today s fastest computers, humans are never satisfied,
and everybody is looking for the next big thing. Recently, as the sale of cell phones has been outdoing
the sale of computers,(1) the question on everybody s minds is, Are cell phones going to replace
computers? There are many similarities and differences between computers and cell phones. Although
to the untrained eye they may seem like they are in two completely ... Show more content on

If you are a regular computer user, then most likely your answer to the above question would be a
definite yes. As a matter of fact, most computer users have to encounter such a situation once in a
while, if not once in a lifetime. System files will sometimes get corrupt if the computer is attacked by
a virus. However the files can be recovered. Corrupt system files can make your desktop or laptop run
much slower than the normal speed. Recovering a system file from your Windows CD is not really
difficult, but it must be done carefully. Let s learn how to recover a corrupted computer system file.
Once you know which file has got corrupted you will need to replace it with a clean copy from your
Windows CD. Rename the corrupt system file s last character to an underscore in order the change the
file format, for instance notepad.ex_ In order to expand the new file you will need to get to the
windows command prompt, which you can reached by clicking on the start button, choosing run and
typing in cmd,. Once at the command prompt enter the following: Expand
:/setup/SETUP/filename.exe For example if your CD ROM is drive letter D and the corrupted file was
notepad.exe you would type Expand D:/setup/SETUP/notepad.exe. If you were unable to find the file,
you will need to search for it within the .CAB files on the CD. Once you have located the corrupt
system file within the CAB files the command EXTRACT /L followed by the

Leukocyte Intravascular Crawling Through Intravital...
Leukocyte intravascular crawling has only recently been identified as a key step in leukocyte
recruitment. Leukocyte intravascular crawling occurs after firm adhesion and before transmigration in
the leukocyte recruitment cascade. At a speed of 5 20um/min, leukocyte intravascular crawling
involves the lateral migration of leukocytes along the luminal surface of the endothelium, which may
assist in immune surveillance as well as searching for suitable sites for endothelial crossing (Shulman
et al, 2009). In order for the leukocytes to crawl, they must possess resistance against the shear flow of
blood, and this is achieved by the β2 integrins Mac 1 and LFA 1 and the α4 integrins VLA 4 and α4β7.
As leukocytes move, they display resistance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is often used in conjunction with epifluorescence and involves the use of long wavelengths to excite
fluorophores, which are fluorescent chemical compounds that light up upon excitation, in the tissue of
interest (Mempel, 2004). These techniques have shed light on the crawling at a molecular level,
including the importance of integrins.
The integrins MAC 1 and/or LFA 1 are the two integrins that have been identified in contributing to
crawling (Phillipson et al, 2006). The process of crawling is first triggered by chemokines, which
activate Rho and Rap 1 families, which in turn stimulate LFA 1 and/or MAC 1 to initiate crawling.
Using LFA 1 as an example, the activation of LFA 1 confers high affinity to the adhesion molecule,
ICAM 1. The high affinity LFA 1 engages with ICAM 1 focal dot points which is a crucial step for
resistance. The integrin LFA 1 must then be able to adjust its binding strength to ICAM 1 in order for
crawling to occur, whereby the leading edge is continuously creating new bonds whilst the back bonds
are being displaced (Shulman, 2009). Adhesive filopodia, which are projections into the endothelium,
are then generated to allow the crawling leukocyte to probe the endothelium for suitable
transendothelial migration in a millipede like motion (Shulman, 2009).
Mutational studies in these integrins, combined with IVM have revealed the

Point Of View Of The Penelopiad
A story could be told numerous ways depending on whose point of view you look at. It s like if there
was a car accident in an intersection. There would be multiple perspectives as to what happened.
There would be the people involved points of view, the people at the other spots of the intersection,
and any other possible witnesses who were for example, walking to their car in the parking lot near by.
Greek myths are like car accidents. The events happen, the stories are told and repeated for
generations and eventually written down, but they can get mis translated in the process depending on
whose side you look at. In The Penelopiad, we see Penelope s perspective of her life and what she
thought of Odysseus while he was gone. In the

Taking a Look at Malaria
Proposed Disease: Malaria
What is malaria?
What exactly is malaria? Malaria is a disease caused by certain mosquitoes passing on parasites when
feeding on people. The most common malaria parasite and is known to be the deadliest is plasmodium
falciparum (figure 1). Once this parasite has enters the body, it takes a few weeks before it multiply
into thousands and infects red blood cells. According to Malaria No More, it is also known that
plasmodium falciparum is carried and transmitted by only female anopheles mosquito and feed on
people between the time of 9pm to 5am (Malaria No More).
According to Malariasymptons.org, once a person is infected with malaria or the parasite plasmodium
falciparum, they will experience fever like sickness. The symptoms include fever, sweats, shaking
chills, headaches, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea (malariasymptoms.org). If malaria is
not treated right away, it can lead to serious health issues for the person who is infected. It may
eventually lead to kidney failure, seizures, mental confusion, coma, bleeding due to blood clots and
even death (malaria symptoms.org).
Malaria parasites were first founded in mosquitoes who were reserved in amber and was
approximately 30 million years old. It was known that parasites originated from Africa and from those
who caught the parasites from chimpanzees and gorillas. One of the earliest protections from malaria
were the Egyptians using large amounts of garlic and using bed

Cross Cultural Communication Varies Depending On The Cultures
Candidate No.436070 Cross cultural communication varies depending on the cultures. Although
students have a high level of proficiency, second language learners still find difficulties while being
understood that cross cultural differences appear in speaking their second language. This concern
makes learners consider that pronunciation might be the cause of the misunderstanding. However,
fluency and accuracy elements are very important for effective conversation, learners of English as a
second language may find themselves in a difficult position when they have to speak with native
speakers of English, because they have received enough knowledge in areas such as grammar,

And here I do mention that some learners of English learn the language in foreign environments,
where English is not the language of the surrounding culture. For example, a person may learn English
as a foreign language in Istanbul, Turkey, challenged by a lack of knowledge that needs to be supplied
artificially by the teacher. This dynamic may lead to a pragmatic competence that it is limited to what
can be taught in the classroom. And my country Uzbekistan is one of the Asian countries and its
people have different attitudes in greeting, in hosting and etc, from nations of English speaking
countries. So, in my research I am going to identify a good way of teaching cultural, pragmatic
features of the English language.
My research paper addresses this key question:
Is video material useful to teach pragmatic features of English in Uzbek classes?
In my research I am going to give another view of teaching English in pre intermediate classes,
because according to the curriculum of the education system of Uzbekistan, teaching a foreign
language mostly consists of grammar ad structured dialogues that can be learnt by special English
course books. And my goal is to prove that it is not only way to teach a target language in pre
intermediate classes and using video materials increases learners not only linguistic competences, but
also awareness of cultural and pragmatic features of the English language.

Understanding Black Holes Essay
Like the boundaries on earth, mankind has always looked to the sky in awe for it seemed boundless in
its ever growing horizon. Out of all the cosmos that s being found and discovered every day, there is
one object that stands to elude scientists still, the black hole. Albert Einstein, and all the brilliant
scientists after his, help to design and create a part of the universe that s very crucial to understanding
existence. The perimeters of a black hole have been a great this that has been discussed and observed
to the point where it eventually becomes clear as its compared to objects around or like it. The physics
of the black holes existence is still unclear for it shows properties that support Einstein s theory and

(Clegg, Brian)
Karl Schwarzschild found a solution to Einstein s theory, if enough matter was packed in to a small
region of space, he said, it should have a strong enough gravitational field that even light couldn t
escape it. Roy Kerr stated that the bigger the star, the greater the drag on the space time around it. But
later his equations were looked at again and it was shown that this theory would be applied to black
holes. 1971, an x ray satellite, Uhuru, had spotted a flicking that was shown by a binary star system of
a white supergiant and a black hole. The black hole was taking the gas that was being emitted by the
white supergiant and while the gas spiraled in to it, spurts of gas were ripped from the faster then the
speed of light. Stephen Hawking shows that black holes may not be black: they may emit a form of
radiation that will eventually cause them to evaporate. (Black Hole Encyclopedia yr. 1974) this type of
radiation was coined as hawking radiation, for it stated that when hawking particles were near the
event horizon, the negatively charged side would fall in while the positive flew out, making the
firewall paradox. (Black hole Encyclopedia)
The problem with the black hole is the understanding of where does the information go after it s eaten,
thus, the information paradox. The firewall paradox is one of the two that should happen, but don t.
The process of the firewall is when a

The Remarkable Tale Of Lakhpat

It is believed that during his missionary journeys to the holy town of Mecca Medina, Gurunanak
camped at a house in Lakhpat during 1506 1521 AD. In Ancient times, when Lakhpat was part of

Medina in Saudi Arabia. The house in which Gurunanak had stayed has been converted to Gurudwara.
The house has gone through heavy restoration work and now is one of well maintained buildings of
Lakhpat. Nonetheless one can still find the ornate wooden windows, door frames and portions of the
old house amidst the new construction. A UNESCO award for restoration work after the earth quake is
credited to this Gurudwara, which is proudly displayed inside its prayer hall. An interesting part about
this Gurudwara is that the current entrance was earlier the back yard of the house. Many old homes in
India, had an independent structure serving as an entrance and it would stand a few meters away from
the main house. Guests were seated here before being brought inside the main house. This
independent structure can be seen as soon as you enter the Gurudwara just adjacent to the prayer hall
complex. But the old seating area is currently being used as a storage space. You can go around the
complex to see the front side of this independent structure which served as the main

Romeo And Juliet Who s To Blame
Everyone has someone they blame for something that happens, who is the real one to blame for this

dead. This causes Romeo s downward spiral, which ultimately results in Romeo s death. When she

Similarities Between Fujimori And Pinochet
Throughout time we have been able to see various types of regimes ruling one specific country. This
fact most often applies specifically to political unstable countries like those that can be found in the
region of South America. One of the many countries that have suffered from this is, Peru. If we look
back into history there have been a couple of military dictatorships, as well as communist regimes,
also many corrupt democracies and a minority of democratic rulers. However, one of the most
important regimes that would change and mark history forever is that of President Alberto Fujimori.

South Virginia s Coal Industry
The coal industry has helped fuel this nation for 150 years, and coal can be used to heat our homes,
power our economy, and protect our nation for at least another 150 years if we continue to use it. Tim
Murphy. Coal has an interesting history in West Virginia, which has contributed significantly to the
improvement and livelihood of West Virginians since its first discovery, which is now Boone County
in 1742 by Peter Salley, more than a century before West Virginia, became a state. The coal industry
has played a major role in the state s economic, political and community history. The industry has also
been a center of debate and the impact of unfounded criticism, giving rise to battles in the arenas of
labor, environment and safety. Since 1742, West Virginia has provided our nation and the world with
the finest coal found anywhere. As of today, West Virginia s coal miners apply useful and effective
mineral removal technology that makes other countries envy their counterparts around the world. West
Virginia s exports more coal than any other state in the country. West Virginia has more longwall
mining systems than any other state. This leads the nation in underground coal productions and sets
the pace for the rest of the industry in recovery and environment protection. At the same time, West

Constitutional Convention Pros And Cons
A Constitutional Convention
¬ Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. (Robert Kennedy) A Constitutional Convention
is necessary to the longevity and forward motion of the nation. There is no part of the Constitution that
says it cannot be changed. In fact, it was made to be changed. In no way did the founding fathers
expect the rules and regulations of the eighteenth century to apply to the country over two hundred
years later. In 227 years, there have only been twenty seven amendments to the Constitution! This is,
by no means, enough change for the Constitution to accommodate modern day life and support a
growing superpower. More amendments are essential for the progression of the United States. Making

The judges are appointed by the President to serve for the duration of their lives, or until they choose
to retire. When the lifetime tenure was adopted, the average life expectancy was much less than what
it is now, allowing for the rotation of judges to happen more often. With the new life expectancy of
around eighty years old, a lifetime tenure can have judges serving anywhere from ten to forty years as
a Supreme Court Justice. To ensure that the alternation happens often enough, there should be a limit
to one fifteen year term per judge. These fifteen years of judgeship would be the lifetime limit for a
term in the Supreme Court (page 115). This term would encourage the President to avoid any bias
against the age of a judge. With the term limit, having a younger judge would not have much more of
an appeal to the President (page 115). The lifetime tenure may be seen as some judges as an anchor,

  • 2. Media Plan For Izze Sparkling Soda Instructor assignment #4: Media Plan for IZZE Sparkling Soda The media we chose to put an emphasis on is radio, Internet and cable television. The percentages for each are radio 40%, Internet 30% and cable television 30%. For radio we have strategically chosen to place our advertisements on the weekday morning drive time from 6am to 10am and on weekends from 7pm to midnight. The vehicles chosen for Internet are the websites iTunes, ESPN and iHeart Radio. For Cable Television services we have chosen the vehicles Spike TV, Food Network and ION. There are numerous reasons why we decided to put the largest emphasis on radio. For one, our demographic is males 18 34 and according to the PowerPoint, we learned that males at that age are a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the United Nations Report, 1.5 billion Internet users are male, while 1.3 billion are female. This statistic supports our decision for choosing this specific medium. In Media Mark, we searched both Other Regular Soft Drinks and Sparkling Water. We compared the two reports and selected the highest reach/index numbers. The vehicles we found specific to our target audience are iTunes, which has a reach of 35,600,000 and an index number of 135, ESPN with a reach of 36,455,000 and an index number of 111 and iHeart Radio, which had a reach of 12,771,000 and an index number of 117. Other websites that we considered but did not choose were Pandora (46,726,000/109) and NFL (17,898,000/110). From this research we were able to determine that our target had an interest in music and sports. This further supports our decision to place a larger emphasis on radio. From the PowerPoint, we learned that Cable Television is a highly persuasive medium because it offers sight, sound and motion. It also reaches a large audience and specifically captures the attention of our hard to reach target (males 18 34). We chose Cable Television over other mediums because it provides narrowcasting opportunities to focus in on specific targets. The vehicles that we chose within this medium are Spike TV with a reach of 35,794,000 and an index number of 120, Food Network with a reach of 56,594,000 and an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Music Appreciation Period In The Renaissance Period Music Appreciation class introduced me to the great masterpieces along with the talented artists from the medieval period to present. It helped me understand more and appreciate art from different periods more than a thousand years back. It refreshed me of the music terminologies and added some more. We re able to recognize and identify musical instruments of various kinds of music. We gained a better comprehension of a music s texture, melody, key, rhythm, style, or form. Some music masterpieces in the past generations live up to the present time and continues to evolve. The medieval period (476 1400) or the middle ages lasted about a thousand years. Medieval music consists of liturgical music, songs, and instrumental pieces. The Gregorian chant was mainly for sacred music. As the musical art progresses, plainchants transitioned into organum the earliest polyphonic texture, but added an independent line of music to the chant. The Notre Dame School of Polyphony had two generations of composition within this school: The Ars Antigua (Old Art) and the Ars Nova (New Art). Guillaume de Machaut set ordinary mass in its entirety. He beautifully constructs and represents the most advanced compositional techniques of his time: includes four voices with more ornamentation contrary motion compares to the earlier three voice works. The rise of humanism marks the Renaissance period. The Franco Flemish School writes music in four voices. The composers of this era use a secular tune as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is no limit in theory to the potential of genetic engineering. Disease could be prevented by detecting people/plants/animals that are genetically prone to certain hereditary diseases through genetic engineering. Animals and plants can be tailor made to show desirable characteristics. Genes could also be manipulated in trees. B. STUDIES Genetic engineering has been impossible until recent times due to the complex and microscopic nature of DNA and its component nucleotides. Through progressive studies, more and more in this area is being made possible. Genetic engineering may be one of the greatest inventions in recent history along with the discovery of the atom and space flight, however, governments have produced legislation to control what sort of experiments are done involving genetic engineering. In the UK there are strict laws prohibiting any experiments involving the cloning of humans. However, over the years here are some of the experimental breakthroughs made possible by genetic engineering. * At the Roslin Institute in Scotland, scientists successfully cloned an exact copy of a sheep, named Dolly . This was the first successful cloning of an animal, and most likely the first occurrence of two organisms being genetically identical. Note : Recently the sheep s health has deteriorated detrimentally * Scientists successfully manipulated the genetic sequence

  • 6. Strong Intrinsic Motivation Motivation Research Paper Why are some people more motivated than others go to the gym? To get good grades? What drives these people to do what they do? Science says that this drive to work hard comes from within. Although the reward and punishment system is effective for basic tasks, creative tasks require a different kind of motivation. True motivation comes from within ourselves and we are motivated, and often more successful, by satisfying our needs for achieving a meaningful goal. Intrinsic motivation is doing an activity for the satisfaction it gives you (Deci and Richard). It comes from doing things that are important to you or that are part of something bigger. It comes from doing important work and doing work that produces tangible results. In an experiment by Dan Ariely, participants were asked to build Lego robots for a sum of money. Each robot they built they received decreasingly less compensation and after every robot was built the robot was placed under the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This intrinsic motivation that gets us to fulfill our basic demonstrates how strong intrinsic motivation can be when applied. This motivation can be applied to things we find interesting or meaningful. Studies have proven that you get more work done and are more successful when you believe your work is meaningful and has higher impact. However, this motivation is scarce and is often hard to find. Good quality extrinsic motivation can be effective, especially when the task only involves simple tasks. No matter whether intrinsic motivation or an internalized external motivation is in use that motivation comes from within. With this knowledge, we must learn to use these motivational tactics to motivate others. • 7. Taking a Look at Lutheranism If you don t believe in God, you had better hope your right! All religions basically believe in one God. Lutheranism is no exception, and as it just so happens it is very close to the Catholic religion I practice. This paper will attempt to explain the Lutheran Church and how it came to be. Martin Luther, a German monk, known to many as the Father of Reformation did not initially or intentionally, start the Lutheran religion. However, his teachings became the cornerstone of what is known today as the Lutheran Religion. Marting Luther was born in Germany in 1483, became a monk, got ordained in 1507 then began to teach at the University of Wittenberg. Even though Martin Luther was ordained in the Catholic Church he became torn as some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If his right to grant remission in these cases were disregarded, the guilt would certainly remain unforgiven. 2. God remits guilt to no one unless at the same time he humbles him in all things and makes him submissive to the vicar, the priest. 3. The penitential canons are imposed only on the living, and, according to the canons themselves, nothing should be imposed on the dying. 4. Therefore the Holy Spirit through the pope is kind to us insofar as the pope in his decrees always makes exception of the article of death and of necessity. http://www.biblestudytools.com/history/creeds confessions/luther 95 theses.html The gist of the Theses were to protest, challenge and deny certain aspects of what was going on in the church. Martin Luther s became very popular and as his ideas of reform became more and more popular, the Pope threatened Luther to stop or face excommunication. Martin did not conform and in 1521 Martin was excommunicated by the Pope. Hence the beginning of the Lutheran Religion. In the beginning people did not initially want to be called Lutherans they like to be referred to as Evangelicals but their opponents called them Lutheran s after the reformer Martin Luther, and the name stuck. As far as the important rituals and sacraments in the Lutheran Church, many mimic the Catholic Church. • 8. Article Review On Human Rights My assignment will be a discussion about Article 6 (Right to a fair trial) of the HRA 1998. I will explore the article and define it in detail. I will explain why this article is particularly important for a Police officer/Investigator dealing with an offender from the beginning of a case until a court appearance. Furthermore I will discuss the possible consequences if the Police officer/Investigator fails to comply with Article 6. Article 6 (the right to a fair trial) has been developed over centuries, originally copied from sources such as the Magna Carta, the 1689 Bill of Rights and the common law. (Fair Trial, 2014) But is now Article 6. Article 6 derived from the European convention on Human Rights. The European Convention on Human Rights is an international treaty to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms in Europe and was signed in Rome (Italy) on 4 November 1950 by 12 member states of the Council of Europe and entered into force on 3 September 1953. Article 6 was created during the aftermath of World War Two, when motivated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Happiness and joy fills the classrooms as everyone leaves the room talking about their summer plans with their friends and family. This is the way it should be,but what if all that was taken away just like that? and the joy of summer vacation suddenly disappeared? Last year was a great year and a challenging one as well. When the practicum period started I was lost, I did not know where to begin and what to do and it took me time to adapt to the new challenges I faced. Once I sat down and considered my options I began searching for schools to do the practicum. The city I live in has many disadvantages as far as education; on the one hand, English is not taught in kindergarten so I ended up teaching in a Language School during the kindergarten period; on the other, there are not many qualified English teachers and this resulted on very scarce feedback from the teachers who observed my lessons. As time went by, things did not get easier; it took me three months to be accepted in the primary school because of some issues with the Ministerio de Educación . Luckily, I did not have such problems in the secondary school. This portfolio helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. As regards my teaching skills is concerned, now that I re read all the lesson plans I made, I can say that I made some progress. Firstly, I learn to create meaningful and effective contexts. • 12. The Social Pathology Of Suicide By Emile Durkheim Emile Durkheim studies the social pathology of suicide in detail. Through the use of both excessive and insufficient social integration we can grasp suicide in a social context. Durkheim uses the example of suicide among Jews, Protestants and Catholics within varying cultures and social settings. This allows us to understand the rates and causes of suicide and how they differ across the three religions. Protestants have always had more of an appetite for suicide than the Jewish and Catholic community (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). It is only on some occasions that this is reversed. Up until the middle of the 19th century, Catholics have committed suicide more than Jews in all countries, except for in Bavaria. Both Catholicism and Judaism teach strict disciplines in their individual religions. They both teach self control and obedience, and due to this suicide is often condemned. Along with this, these religions are often the minority within certain societies across the globe. Durkheim invites us to investigate the rates and causes of their suicides with these factors in play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suicides of the latter party are only 100 to 275 of those of the Protestant community (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). These statistics greatly contrast to those found in Austria, which is almost entirely made up of Catholics. A rate of only 155 Protestant to 100 Catholic suicides exist. It all started with a group of roughly 100 men and women who originated from England known as the Pilgrims. The Pilgrims were sick and tired of the lack of religious freedom and work/economic opportunities. There was no future for the Pilgrims in England. This was all until the group set sail on the Mayflower in order to find new land. After a rough journey, they came across a piece of land now known as New England. In reality, if it were not for the Native Americans, the Pilgrims would have been wiped out in a short period of time. The first relationship dealt with economics. In the Pilgrims first winter, many died from disease and starvation because they had no idea about how bad the winters are in New England. They didn t understand how to grow crops successfully until the Native Americans helped them out, resulting in less death from starvation. Since the Pilgrims were in need of food fast in order to survive, they would have no choice but to steal corn from the group called the Nausets. The snow made it difficult to find the corn, but eventually they located 10 catches of it. They educated the Pilgrims about some of their practices such as how to build warm and protected shelters. But in a short period of time this ended up hurting the Native Americans. There was a native man by the name of Squanto who did not mind helping out the Pilgrims at all. Squanto showed the Pilgrims everything he knew about building crops, fishing, building shelters and basically how to survive. Squanto was a very talented eel fisherman and he provided eels to the Pilgrims so that they would have something to eat. That night the Pilgrims at the eels with relish, praising them... Christianity Of Philosophy By David Gilson The Christianity of Philosophy, the title of this essay, is meant to be rather shocking, and more startling than the phrase Christian philosophy as a whole, which caused little controversy some few years ago among modern Christians. Gilson conceded to opponents that there could no more be a Christian philosophy, in the strict sense of the term, than a Christian mathematics or a Christian physics. For surely not only was Gilson right that philosophy is different from religion in its very idea, but also as a matter of historical fact there are many philosophies, throughout world history, that are not at all Catholic or even European. Leukocyte intravascular crawling occurs after firm adhesion and before transmigration in the leukocyte recruitment cascade. At a speed of 5 20um/min, leukocyte intravascular crawling involves the lateral migration of leukocytes along the luminal surface of the endothelium, which may assist in immune surveillance as well as searching for suitable sites for endothelial crossing (Shulman et al, 2009). In order for the leukocytes to crawl, they must possess resistance against the shear flow of blood, and this is achieved by the β2 integrins Mac 1 and LFA 1 and the α4 integrins VLA 4 and α4β7. As leukocytes move, they display resistance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is often used in conjunction with epifluorescence and involves the use of long wavelengths to excite fluorophores, which are fluorescent chemical compounds that light up upon excitation, in the tissue of interest (Mempel, 2004). These techniques have shed light on the crawling at a molecular level, including the importance of integrins. The integrins MAC 1 and/or LFA 1 are the two integrins that have been identified in contributing to crawling (Phillipson et al, 2006). The process of crawling is first triggered by chemokines, which activate Rho and Rap 1 families, which in turn stimulate LFA 1 and/or MAC 1 to initiate crawling. Using LFA 1 as an example, the activation of LFA 1 confers high affinity to the adhesion molecule, ICAM 1. The high affinity LFA 1 engages with ICAM 1 focal dot points which is a crucial step for resistance. The integrin LFA 1 must then be able to adjust its binding strength to ICAM 1 in order for crawling to occur, whereby the leading edge is continuously creating new bonds whilst the back bonds are being displaced (Shulman, 2009). Adhesive filopodia, which are projections into the endothelium, are then generated to allow the crawling leukocyte to probe the endothelium for suitable transendothelial migration in a millipede like motion (Shulman, 2009). • 30. Understanding Black Holes Essay Like the boundaries on earth, mankind has always looked to the sky in awe for it seemed boundless in its ever growing horizon. Out of all the cosmos that s being found and discovered every day, there is one object that stands to elude scientists still, the black hole. Albert Einstein, and all the brilliant scientists after his, help to design and create a part of the universe that s very crucial to understanding existence. The perimeters of a black hole have been a great this that has been discussed and observed to the point where it eventually becomes clear as its compared to objects around or like it. The physics of the black holes existence is still unclear for it shows properties that support Einstein s theory and quantum mechanics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Clegg, Brian) Karl Schwarzschild found a solution to Einstein s theory, if enough matter was packed in to a small region of space, he said, it should have a strong enough gravitational field that even light couldn t escape it. Roy Kerr stated that the bigger the star, the greater the drag on the space time around it. But later his equations were looked at again and it was shown that this theory would be applied to black holes. 1971, an x ray satellite, Uhuru, had spotted a flicking that was shown by a binary star system of a white supergiant and a black hole. The black hole was taking the gas that was being emitted by the white supergiant and while the gas spiraled in to it, spurts of gas were ripped from the faster then the speed of light. Stephen Hawking shows that black holes may not be black: they may emit a form of radiation that will eventually cause them to evaporate. (Black Hole Encyclopedia yr. 1974) this type of radiation was coined as hawking radiation, for it stated that when hawking particles were near the event horizon, the negatively charged side would fall in while the positive flew out, making the firewall paradox. (Black hole Encyclopedia) The problem with the black hole is the understanding of where does the information go after it s eaten, thus, the information paradox. The firewall paradox is one of the two that should happen, but don t. The process of the firewall is when a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Remarkable Tale Of Lakhpat Imagine a port town many centuries ago, bustling with trade and earning daily revenue of one lakh just from trading! Undoubtedly the picture of present day Dubai Port would come across your mind. Now visualize a town in a state of ruins and almost deserted with the villagers earning their daily wages either by fishing or working in nearby factories. Try picturing both together. Well, quite hard isn t it! This is the remarkable tale of Lakhpat. Lakhpat is a town in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Lakhpat literally means millionaire town . It was named so due to the daily revenue of one lakh Koris (earlier currency) it earned during its glorious days. In those days, the water from river Indus flowed into Lakhpat. It is believed that during his missionary journeys to the holy town of Mecca Medina, Gurunanak camped at a house in Lakhpat during 1506 1521 AD. In Ancient times, when Lakhpat was part of Sindh, Gurunanak crossed to Somiani port of Sindh from Lakhpat for his onward journey to Mecca Medina in Saudi Arabia. The house in which Gurunanak had stayed has been converted to Gurudwara. The house has gone through heavy restoration work and now is one of well maintained buildings of Lakhpat. Nonetheless one can still find the ornate wooden windows, door frames and portions of the old house amidst the new construction. A UNESCO award for restoration work after the earth quake is credited to this Gurudwara, which is proudly displayed inside its prayer hall. An interesting part about this Gurudwara is that the current entrance was earlier the back yard of the house. Many old homes in India, had an independent structure serving as an entrance and it would stand a few meters away from the main house. Guests were seated here before being brought inside the main house. This independent structure can be seen as soon as you enter the Gurudwara just adjacent to the prayer hall complex. But the old seating area is currently being used as a storage space. You can go around the complex to see the front side of this independent structure which served as the main ... But in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet the blame lies with the family feud because it creates unnecessary conflicts. Some may say that Balthasar holds the most blame for Romeo and Juliet s deaths. After all, Balthasar is the one who tells Romeo Juliet is dead. This causes Romeo s downward spiral, which ultimately results in Romeo s death. When she discovers Romeo s death, Juliet stabs herself. While this may be true, the family feud holds the most blame for the outcome of the play. The fights that are alluded to by the Prince that occurred before the start of the play. If they would ve told their parents about them marrying the enemy then their parents would ve been really mad. The day after Romeo and Juliet meet at the party they set a schedule to get married that following morning. That next morning Romeo, Juliet, Friar Lawrence, and the Nurse were all their for Romeo and Juliet s marriage. After Romeo and Juliet get married she says this, My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, That I must love a loathed enemy! (1.5.136 139). In this quote she is saying she states that the only person she really loved besides her family was the enemy of her family. Because of this they had to keep secret and they couldn t tell people about this, or they could pay the prices. • 33. Similarities Between Fujimori And Pinochet Throughout time we have been able to see various types of regimes ruling one specific country. This fact most often applies specifically to political unstable countries like those that can be found in the region of South America. One of the many countries that have suffered from this is, Peru. If we look back into history there have been a couple of military dictatorships, as well as communist regimes, also many corrupt democracies and a minority of democratic rulers. However, one of the most important regimes that would change and mark history forever is that of President Alberto Fujimori. On the other, Chile a neighboring country to Peru has also suffered from unstable political regimes. Although in Chile there has been more political unstable ... • 34. South Virginia s Coal Industry The coal industry has helped fuel this nation for 150 years, and coal can be used to heat our homes, power our economy, and protect our nation for at least another 150 years if we continue to use it. Tim Murphy. Coal has an interesting history in West Virginia, which has contributed significantly to the improvement and livelihood of West Virginians since its first discovery, which is now Boone County in 1742 by Peter Salley, more than a century before West Virginia, became a state. The coal industry has played a major role in the state s economic, political and community history. The industry has also been a center of debate and the impact of unfounded criticism, giving rise to battles in the arenas of labor, environment and safety. Since 1742, West Virginia has provided our nation and the world with the finest coal found anywhere. As of today, West Virginia s coal miners apply useful and effective mineral removal technology that makes other countries envy their counterparts around the world. West Virginia s exports more coal than any other state in the country. West Virginia has more longwall mining systems than any other state. This leads the nation in underground coal productions and sets the pace for the rest of the industry in recovery and environment protection. At the same time, West Virginia coal industry displays a sense of responsibility for health, safety and environmental that is incomparable anywhere in the world. Over the years, coal has ... • 35. Constitutional Convention Pros And Cons A Constitutional Convention ¬ Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. (Robert Kennedy) A Constitutional Convention is necessary to the longevity and forward motion of the nation. There is no part of the Constitution that says it cannot be changed. In fact, it was made to be changed. In no way did the founding fathers expect the rules and regulations of the eighteenth century to apply to the country over two hundred years later. In 227 years, there have only been twenty seven amendments to the Constitution! This is, by no means, enough change for the Constitution to accommodate modern day life and support a growing superpower. More amendments are essential for the progression of the United States. The judges are appointed by the President to serve for the duration of their lives, or until they choose to retire. When the lifetime tenure was adopted, the average life expectancy was much less than what it is now, allowing for the rotation of judges to happen more often. With the new life expectancy of around eighty years old, a lifetime tenure can have judges serving anywhere from ten to forty years as a Supreme Court Justice. To ensure that the alternation happens often enough, there should be a limit to one fifteen year term per judge. These fifteen years of judgeship would be the lifetime limit for a term in the Supreme Court (page 115). This term would encourage the President to avoid any bias against the age of a judge. With the term limit, having a younger judge would not have much more of an appeal to the President (page 115). The lifetime tenure may be seen as some judges as an anchor, not allowing them to explore other options with their life. Some judges may have disliked the pressures of being a justice, and the term limit allows for a way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
