The study investigated the effects of automation on library services at the University of Education Library using qualitative and quantitative methods including interviews, documents, and observations. The study found that both staff and students were aware of and eager for automation, as it helped complete assignments, research, and learning. Automation affected the management and operations of the library. There was also a need for training staff and users on the automation facilities. The study concluded that periodic assessments are needed to adopt strategies to improve performance and ensure effective and efficient service delivery. It recommended adequate education during implementation, teamwork in managing the new system, training programs for all affected users, and periodic reviews considering customer satisfaction.
