Watch Dogs 2 Research Papers
In Watch Dogs 2, the player takes control of Marcus Holloway, a young hacker from Oakland who
was convicted of a crime he didn t commit due to the Big Brother like surveillance system ctOS 2.0.
Afterward, he sets out to take down the mal purposed software and Blume, the company behind it. To
accomplish this, he enlists with the hacktivist group DedSec and takes on a variety of missions in and
around San Francisco. While first playing the game, I noticed how different it felt from the original
entry in the series. Instead of opening with cut scenes of a digital heist gone wrong followed by the
traumatic death of the main character s niece, the game starts off by tasking the player to break into a
guarded server farm while fun electronic music plays in the background. They even throw in a
Mission Impossible reference in the first lines of dialogue when a mysterious digitally altered voice
says: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to bypass Blume s security doors and get inside

game s playable character, Marcus is black. Another member of DedSec, Josh, has Asperger s

Air Pollution And Its Effects On Health
Air pollution is considered the presence of a harmful substance in the air. All aerobic biological
system use oxygen as an essential part of their physiological cellular metabolic processes (Valavanidis
et. al 2013). With the inclusion of oxygen within our biological systems come complications. More
specifically, air pollution has been deemed hazardous to human health. Air pollution is a complex and
abundant mixture of pollutants. The combination of matter includes particulate matter, chemical
substance, biological materials as well as particles that are large enough to be seen with the naked eye.
Regardless the type of particles it consists of, particulate matter is associated with triggering serious
health complications. There is an upsurge in awareness of adverse effects on health due to both acute
and chronic exposure to particulate matter. Furthermore, epidemiological as well as toxicological
studies continue to discover a correlation between particle pollution and mortality. The objective of
this paper is to discuss particulate matter and address the health problems it can manifest. Particulate
matter is particle air pollution that consists of both organic and inorganic molecules (Blomberg 2012).
This particle pollution, also known as PM, is constructed of inhalable coarse particles as well as fine
course particles. These particles consist of various sizes, which are unequivocally connected to
causations of health ailments. The inhalable course particles (PM10) have

Proper Level Of Segregation Between Audit And Non Audit...
Abstract
Abstract:The purpose of this research paper is to discuss the proper level of segregation between audit
and non audit services, to ensure independence and instill public confidence. In the wake of numerous
accounting scandals of Enron, WorldCom, etc, the importance of auditor independence has been
brought to the forefront of the accounting profession. The U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (PCAOB) has taken a strict stance on auditor independence, which signifies that an auditor
cannot provide business advisory services without impeding their autonomy. However, an analysis of
the current auditor client relationship reveals contradictions to the interpretation of absolute auditor
independence. In recent developments, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, AICPA s Code of Professional Conduct contains over 200 pages of interpretive guidance
on the topic of independence alone. The AICPA and PCAOB stress heavily on the importance of
auditor independence, and for good reason. Financial statement users trust independent auditors ability
to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material
misstatement, whether caused by error or fraud. (AU C 200.06) Auditor independence is required to
instill public confidence in U.S. financial markets. Thus, the Public Company Accounting Oversight
Board (PCAOB) has a strict view on independence in both fact and appearance. In AU 220.01,
PCAOB states that an auditor must be without bias with respect to the client. More specifically, an
independent auditor must be free from any obligation to or interest in the client, its management, or its
owners. (AU 220.03) This strict interpretation of auditor independence was adopted as a means to
restore public confidence in U.S. financial markets following the Enron, Waste Management, and
other frauds in the early 2000 s. Unfortunately, the concept of strict auditor independence may be
impossible in today s public accounting environment. There are several environmental factors that
influence perceived auditor independence. The underlying fee structure for accounting firms that audit
public companies prohibits complete auditor client

The role of women in The Epic of Gilgamesh
The role of women is a very important topic in The Epic of Gilgamesh, and various women are chosen
to represent various aspects of the mesopotamian conception of women.
In the ancient times males were inessential to the preservation of life. The Epic of Gilgamesh shows
how the inability of males to give birth causes a sense of despair and alienation. While the
representation of women might seem confusing at first with its wide range of traits, the epic tries to
demonstrate all aspects of women, some are dominant in some ways. They are valuable advisors, and
have variable attitudes regarding sexuality, they control men s decision in some ways and bring both
death and immortality in men s lives. In this paper the female characters of ... Show more content on

Utnapishtim clearly lets Gilgamesh know how the story ends. Males are not mortals, only females are.
They do not possess the power that everlasting life brings, only females do. Therefore they cannot

African American Stereotypes In Fences
People are natural evaluators of everything they come across, and they attempt to acquire insights as
they evaluate other people. Stereotypes are the beliefs that people hold concerning other human
groups after gaining insights about them. Racial stereotypes have been common among African
Americans and the whites. In the 20th century, African Americans were stereotyped as contaminated
and dirty by the whites; maybe because of the insufficient income they are said to earn. The whites
also associate African Americans with substance use. Additionally, the Sambo stereotype associates
the black community with slavery and simple mindedness. Up to the current times, movies and other
forms of art and literature portray stereotype themes. These stereotypes have shaped the attitudes of
the two groups towards each other since the beginning of the American history. In his play Fences,
August Wilson unveils stereotype of black people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Disadvantages Of A Space Elevator
Ticket to the Stars
It was first written about in the Bible as the Tower of Babel, long before any scientist thought about or
came up with the idea to invent an elevator to take trips out of this world, instead of mentioning an
elevator of course it was described as building a tower so high it would reach to the heavens.
However, today that story is now almost a reality. With novels, such as that written by Arthur C.
Clarke with the idea of a ride that would glide you into space. It made the idea to many scientists of a
way for a space elevator to be created. A space elevator can be compared to a regular elevator, the
difference you might ask is the space elevator travels up to space into gravity that is different from the
earth atmosphere. NASA, scientists, and many private industries are all interested in creating this
elevator for many purposes. A space elevator can create space traveling for tourist, also it can be used
as a transportation device for material for astronauts and scientists in space. But the cost of building
such an out of this world invention is pricey with its advantages and disadvantages. The elevator is
very hard and complex to build, but if one explains how it works you would think it was rather simple.
The outside of the elevator is made up of strong materials including steel and uses electricity and other
components to be move up and down. But a space elevator utilizes very strong material that will

Essay on Cause of Napoleon Bonaparte s Death
A. Plan of Investigation
Napoleon s death has been attributed to many causes: stomach cancer, arsenic poisoning, improper
medical treatment, hepatitis, and St. Helena s climate. The purpose is to ascertain the likeliest cause,
and if foul play was involved. With each possible cause, there are different implications, i.e., cancer
frees everyone from blame, hepatitis incriminates the British, improper medical treatment the doctors,
and poisoning implicates the suspected poisoner. The focus is on four causes cancer, poisoning,
improper treatment, and hepatitis common explanations for Napoleon s failing health, and evidence
that supports or refutes each case.

(0.6g) of calomel the miracle drug of the day, mercury chloride. Antommarchi protested, thinking it
would kill him as he hadn t eaten in 6 days, but was outnumbered. By 11 12 pm came a black
evacuation, after which Napoleon drank more orgeat (Antommarchi 150). On May 4th, Napoleon
constantly drank orgeat, continued to evacuate substances, but was no longer conscious of bowel

Mental Health Proposal
What health issue is being addressed by this expo?
Mental health has always been identified as one of the main areas for action in the National Health
Priority Areas (National Health and Medical Research Council 2016), and depression is one of the
most prevalent chronic conditions amongst the young Australians (Australian Institute of Health and
Welfare 2017). Depression is a debilitating condition that substantially impairs individuals ability to
function and cope with their daily life due to the experience of negative feelings (NHMRC 2016).
Also, depression and suicidality have a close correlation as eighty percent of reported suicide incident
was due to the burden of depression (World Health Organization 2017), and suicide is the second
leading cause of death in youths in Australia (Reddy 2010). Moreover, depression can be inherited in a
family through either biological or psychological way (Rahman et al. 2008); hence, youths who have
the family with depression history tend to be more vulnerable and have a higher chance to get
depression comparing with children from healthy family (Rice 2010). Therefore, this expo is set up for
raising community awareness in the burden of depression and reducing the growth of emotional and
developmental dysfunction in youths and their families through providing a comprehensive research
study in related the health problem and proven intervention strategies.

My Experience At New York City
For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New York
City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed for New
Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never visited
New York City before. I also remember being excited because of that fact that I would actually get to
see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter. Then that next year
during my junior year in High School, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Los Angeles with my
drill team. I was very excited to get to go to both of these huge awesome cities in that two year period.
Both of these cities were unique in their own way. So what makes a city similar to another city and
what makes a city different to another city? The people, the weather, the vibe, the monuments and
popular attractions are all some of the components of what makes a city unlike any other city. My two
favorite cities besides Houston are New York and Los Angeles. I have visited both and like them both
equally for different reasons. While New York and Los Angeles definitely have their similarities, they
also have many differences that set them apart from each other. In New York they experience all four
seasons. The leaves change colors in the fall, it snows in the winter, the grass gets greener because it
rains a lot in the spring, and it can get very sunny and unbearably hot in the summer.

Criminology And Philosophy Of Detective Fiction
Criminology and Philosophy in Detective Fiction Detective fiction consists of various genres that
exemplify the intersection of criminology and philosophy. Criminology components can be applied to
perpetrators of the crime and their motives even though they are fictional. In a similar manner, the
motive and overall story also exemplify components of philosophy. More specifically, the two
detective fiction genres of Locked Room stories and Hoist on their Own Petards stories portray crime
and perpetrators in relation to philosophy. For example, the detective fiction story, The Leopold
Locked Room, written by Edward D. Hoch, exemplifies Hegel s master versus slave theory and
components of Hegel s recognition of self while also demonstrating social bonds theory and choice
learning theory. Peter Lovesey s detective fiction story, The Secret Lover, also consists of both
philosophy and criminology as it demonstrates Hegel s master versus slave theory, metaphysics, object
petite x, social bonds theory, and qualities of an organized killer.
The Leopold Locked Room Hoch s story, The Leopold Locked Room, is part of the locked room
genre and demonstrates many different aspects of both criminology and philosophy. The basis of this
story concerns Captain Leopold who is framed by his ex wife, Monica, for her own murder. Monica
develops an elaborate scheme during her fifteen years apart from Leopold and puts her plan into
action with the help of a fake doctor named Dr. Felix

The East India Company
The East India Company was a British joint stock company establish on the 31st of December, 1600
under the original name The Company of Merchants of London trading into the East Indies. Over the
next hundreds of years the Company set a sail attempting to find riches in trade on their journeys to
these new lands. They found value in crops such as indigo, salt, cotton, silk, opium and other cash
crops that the barren land of Europe lacked. This would be the company that would set sail to the land
of India and dominate its soil from the middle of 1700 s to the middle of the 1800 s. In a little over
fifty years the East India Company was transformed from a body of traders controlling a scattered
group of commercial settlements round the coasts of India into the rulers of provinces with a
population popularly supposed in Britain to contain fifty or sixty million inhabitants. The Company
was able to find its growth and power from wealthy merchants and aristocrats that would invest their
money into the Company after seeing how successful they were becoming. A healthy amount of these
wealthy investors were part of the British Parliament. This intertwined government views and beliefs
with the business side of views and beliefs. With more and more backing though, the Company slowly
grew a ship or two every now and then until they were a full fleet of trade ships moving massive
amounts of crops. Colonies were eventually set up and the land was taken for the new Englishmen,

Taste Aversion through Classical Conditioning Essay
Taste Aversion through Classical Conditioning
Classical conditioning states that learning is a gradual process, that it is not possible for a subject to be
classically condition in only one trial. However, if you eat something and become sick from it, there is
a very good probability that you will develop a strong distaste for that food. This effect is known as
taste aversion, which has brought up many questions about classical conditioning.
It was Garcia and Koelling (1966) who studied the level of conditioning in rats using two conditioned
stimulus (CS), an audiovisual stimulus and a salty flavor added to drinking water. The two
unconditioned stimulus (UCS), a mild foot shock and a nausea producing drug. In the conditioning ...

It is seen that the rats promptly learned to associate a taste CS with a UCS of nausea but not with the
foot shock, where the audiovisual CS was conditioned to the foot shock but not to nausea (Walker
1995).
Taste aversion has violated three principles of classical conditioning, the first is that equal
associability of stimuli: any CS can be paired with any UCS. This has proven to be untrue because if it
were, the rats that became sick would have avoided both the salty water CS and the audiovisual CS.
The second principle violated is temporal contiguity: CS and UCS have to be presented close together
in time. Again untrue in this case because of such a long delay between drinking the salty water and
becoming sick. The third and final principle is that learning is gradual, but in this case only one trial
was enough.
The studies done by Garcia and Koelling have had much support from many other experiments done
in similar or the same situations. A study of ingestional aversion (Gregg, Melanie, Kittrell, Domjan
Amsel, 1978), where 12 and 15 day old rats were conditioned by infusing a .5% solution of saccharin
into the oral cavity. This was then followed by an oral infusion by the injection of lithium chloride. At
both ages, subjects that had saccharin exposure was followed by a lithium injection within 2 to 3

Stigma Is An Interesting Concept In Social Psychology Because
Stigma is an interesting concept in social psychology because it not only studies the experience of
marginalized people (who already do not receive enough attention in science) but dissects the inner
workings of power imbalances, internal dynamics, and interpersonal conflicts. Arguably the most
important foundational text in stigma research, across all disciplines, is Goffman s Notes on the
Management of Spoiled Identity. Goffman s perspective and definition of stigma has been revised
many times since its publication, but it remains one of the most influential works in the field. Goffman
suggests that stigma is an attribute which sets an individual apart from others in a negative way, which

Socially, stigmatized individuals are usually met with opposition from normal people there is a severe
lack of acceptance and alienation that result from stigma, and with these also comes discrimination.
Goffman notes that even within the first few minutes of a conversation, a normal person can find fault
in stigmatized individuals and entirely shift the tone of the encounter. However, Goffman makes sure
to note that stigmatization isn t always a bad thing. Outgroup perceptions and prejudice are definitely
detrimental, but stigmatized individuals are often able to form an identity around their stigma or at
least positively integrate it into their self concept. As a result, stigmatized people may be able to find
support in people with a similar stigma, and can also accept their blemishes. Some, Goffman says,
insist that their socially undesirable attributes are actually a blessing in disguise as it has changed their
world view or personality for the better. Other scholars have taken Goffman s work, which is truly a
foundational stigma text, and dissected and revised his conceptualization. For the purpose of this
paper, four articles by Link and Phelen (2001), Major, Kaiser and McCoy (2003), Chen and Bargh

foreign libraries. The aim of teaching English in the secondary schools is to promote its pupils with
sufficient knowledge of English and to aid them in their future studies and build confidence to find a
suitable job. If we come to the present context, English is the language that is found in all corners of
India. Now it is the language of the global trade.

THEORETICAL OUTLOOK
The Error Analysis in Second Language Acquisition was recognized and named as The significance of
learner errors by Corder and his colleagues. Further Corder delineated that it has two objectives: one is
theoretical and the other is applied. The theoretical objective serves to explain what and how a learner
learns when he studies a second language. The applied objective serves to enable the learner to learn
more efficiently by exploiting our knowledge of his dialect for pedagogical purposes (Corder,
1974:122).
As per the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Linguistics by Tim (2003) writing is the act of representing, or
the representation, of thoughts, ideas and speech by conventional material signs. Of course, the
symbols which are used need to be arranged properly to form words and then to form the sentences
with a view to communicating our ideas in an organized way. In fact, when we communicate through
writing, we have so many ideas to express for which we think in different ways of combining and
arranging them, which lead us to draft, redraft or revise and so

I Had Been Out Of The Hospital For Two Weeks Essay
I had been out of the hospital for two weeks. I was staying on track with my medicine, with the help of
my husband Bryon. I have been dealing with depression for a while now and I eventually ended up
being emitted to the hospital. I decided to take time off work for a while until I got back in the swing
of things. Me and my husband Bryon decided that was the best thing to do. Every day Bryon would
make sure I took my medicine in the morning before he went to work and every evening when he got
back. That s what my psychiatrist recommended we do. I had been suicidal, and they wanted to make
sure didn t try anything to take my life. Bryon removed all of the sharp objects from the house, like
knives and scissors. I didn t feel like all of that was necessary, but I could see why he did that with the
state of mind I was in before I was emitted to the hospital. Battling with severe depression took a toll
on me. There was no definite cause for my depression either. It s like no matter how good things were
going in my life, there would always be a little bit of sadness that lingered. I was feeling confident that
I was going to really get better and more stable. It is just so hard sometimes to find the medicine that
worked. It is like trial and error. My medicine would have to be adjusted to get me feeling the best I
could, but I was hoping that this was a real fix. I mean I knew that I would not always be happy
because in life we all go through ups and downs, but I just wanted to

The Illegal and Unethical Activities of Bernard Lawrence...
Bernard Lawrence Madoff, a former chairman of the NASDAQ Stock Market and founder of Bernard
L. Madoff Investment Securities, was one of the few NASDAQ market makers who competed with
the New York Stock Exchange, by trading stocks listed on the Big Board. Through the Cincinnati
exchange, the Madoff was a pioneer in electronic trading and publicly spoke of the need to use
technology to transform the inefficient and sometimes shady over the counter stock market (Monica
Gagnier, 2008). But Madoff became famous for a very different reason on December 10, 2008 when
Madoff s sons told authorities that their father had confessed to them that the asset management unit

I know, I myself, if I was investing 5 million to Madoff who supposedly told me he could earn an
unusually higher return on my money than other investors, I would want to know exactly how he was

have seen that Madoff s investment company was making substantial returns that were significantly
higher than everyone else in the same market, and was doing it consistently year after year, then they
might have saw that something just didn t add up. 4. Describe three ways private investors might have

ready to serve clients high benefits on their investments, but it s a tougher job to sort out the reputed

market first to know the agency s reputation. After doing their research they should better protect

Snowball Fight Essay
POW! At what seems like 100 miles per hour it hits you! The cold snow running down your back,
chills form on your arm. Then, another one! Quickly you dodge it, then grab your own and send it
flying back. Wow, you think, snowball fights are extreme. This snowball fight was the best I ever had.
We were throwing snowballs across the street, hitting houses and laughing as we do so.
Running in the snow we began the fight! Each team building a snow fort bigger and better than the
other teams. Unfortunately in all of that chaos my team accidentally built our fort in the neighbor s
yard! Luckily, we fixed their yard up before they got home. Before we knew it the fight began, and I
was the first to get hit. The icy snow hit me right in the face

The Hateful Eight-Personal Narrative
The Hateful Eight
The splendid and cruel Quentin Tarantino now gives us an immeasurable American epic set for the
most part in only one room. Truth be told, the different areas and corners of that room begin to feel as
far off as urban areas or deserts. At one stage, a character recommends separating this space to speak
to the Unionist North and Confederate South, and it s not all that quite a bit of a stretch to envision, in
spite of the fact that the elusive severe amoralism of every last one is such that tribal unwaveringness
segment was never going to work. Tarantino has made another stunningly snazzy and sharp film, a
Jacobean western, insinuate yet some way or another peculiarly huge, at the end of the day
discharging his own particular sort of unwholesome insane interesting brutal nitrous oxide into the
silver screen assembly room for every one of us to breathe in. Additionally, Tarantino now makes a
genuine star of Walton Goggins, giving a silly execution as the profoundly temperamental Chris

The Historical Similarities Of Adolf Hitler And Donald Trump
Many conditions point towards Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump with how they took power as political
leaders. Hitler and Trump both put down people of different backgrounds based on looks, people who
love different, etc. The trend that Americans are seeing today is similar to what Germany imposed on
their people back in the 1930 s. The slow gradual steps of oppression and discrimination that Trump
does everyday will eventually cause the downfall of America if we do not speak up and realize how
wrong all of this is. To better understand what factors would cause one to imply such a claim it is
important to understand Adolf Hitler s background and Donald Trump s background and the historical
comparisons.
IMPOSING THE ASSUMPTION OF HOW TRUMP IS SIMILAR TO HITLER Adolf Hitler was
born on April 20, 1889, in the Upper Austrian border town Braunau am Inn, located approximately 65
miles east east of Munich and nearly 30 miles north of Salzburg. In 1898, the Hitler moved with his
family to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Hitler always has a passion for art. However, Hitler s
father never approved of him pursuing art. Hitler s father wanted him to seek interest in the job of
entering into the Hasburg Civil Service. Soon later though Hitler s father passed and the death of him
meant that he could now pursue his dream of becoming an artist. In 1907 Hitler decided that he
wanted to try and gain acceptance to the Academy of the Arts in Vienna. Hitler failed miserably at

Macbeth, By William Shakespeare
In Shakespeare s time, supernatural entities, such as witches or ghosts, were to be feared. It was a
point in history of extremely superstitious people, where women were burned at the stake for being
accused of using magic. At odds with the beliefs of his time, Shakespeare uses the supernatural in a
very logical way, providing a glimpse into his characters unique dispositions through the use of
witches, ghosts, or magic to represent their internal thoughts and struggles. Each play deals with
corruption and morality as a main themes, which are enhanced by the otherworldly elements within
their respective stories. Macbeth focuses on the corruption of unchecked ambition and greed for
power, Hamlet considers the corruption of power and the repercussions of action in the pursuit of true
knowledge and justice, and The Tempest outlines the exploitation of magic on others, or the use of
others for gain by a person of power, and the illusion of justice. Through the use of the supernatural,
Shakespeare provides an external driving force that highlights internal ideas or desires, and provides
insight into the character s mindset throughout each storyline. The supernatural elements of Macbeth,
Hamlet, and The Tempest serve as integral parts to the structure of the plot, and provide the driving
force of their respective stories. Each respective character the metaphysical element interacts with has
internal ambitions for power or revenge, but without the validation of Macbeth s

Divorce Changes The Family Unit
Divorce changes the family unit
The family is an important part of our life, it is where we belong and where we get our identities from.
For me, family means people that love each other, a strong connection and a long lasting relationship.
The family is the most important value who shaped my life. The traditional family means parents,
children, and relatives. In our days there are a significantly changes that affect the family unit. One of
the frequent changes is divorce. The raising of divorce is painful because divorce has negative effects
not only for the adults but also for the children, and as a result, it affects the family structure by
creating broken homes. Divorce is a life changing experience. When any ... Show more content on

Children should have pleasant memories about their parents, for example, a vacation spent together,
instead of memories as going to court because of divorce. White describes in Once
More to the Lake a beautiful place from his childhood where he uses to spent the summer vacation
with his family, which resulted in a stronger relationship with his father. He recalls, It is strange how
much you can remember about a place like the one you allow your mind to return into the grooves
which lead back. You remember one thing, and suddenly remind you of another thing (White, E.B. ).
This type of place solidify the relationships in the family unit, and it encourages families to spend
more time together. Secondly, divorce affects family relationships. When parents divorce, the primary
effect is a decline in the relationship between parents and children. After the divorce, the judge set up
rules about the custody and how parents can keep the contact with their children. The new rules, the
new family structure, the new life may enormously change parents children relationship. Parents
should be guides for their children, should be the wind beneath the wings. Children need to receive
unconditional love and, the guidance of their parent should be the base of their life.
In The Inheritance of Tools Sanders explained how his father guided him trying to teach him how to

Analysis Of Monody To The Victims Of Hiroshima
Successful composers manipulate the musical elements to portray military conflict and emotional
impact. A polish composer, Krzysztof Penderecki, composed an experimental piece, later titled
Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima, in 1960. The piece was originally titled 8 37 but was changed
when he heard it being performed. Penderecki stated I was struck by the emotional change of the
work... I searched for associations and, in the end, I decided to dedicate it to the Hiroshima victims
(Jamie Leigh, 2010). Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima is composed for 52 stringed instruments
and depicts the horror and tragedy of the bombing. The composer is successful in his ability to
manipulate the musical elements, expressive devices, pitch and timbre, to portray the military conflict
and negative emotional impact of Hiroshima.
Penderecki s purpose of evoking emotions and relating to military conflict is evident in his
manipulation of expressive devices, specifically though his use of dynamics. At 3:32, the violas begin
playing very loud at ff. After this the other instrument groups have delayed entries with loud
fortissimo dynamics. This is seen specifically at 3:32 to 3:45, when a violin and cello group begin to
play but are not joining in at the same time. These delayed entries combined create a sense of high
tension. The additional instruments playing increase texture and thus increases the volume. Due to
these loud dynamics, an image of pain and horror can be heard. The delayed

Watch Dogs 2 Research Papers In Watch Dogs 2, the player takes control of Marcus Holloway, a young hacker from Oakland who was convicted of a crime he didn t commit due to the Big Brother like surveillance system ctOS 2.0. Afterward, he sets out to take down the mal purposed software and Blume, the company behind it. To accomplish this, he enlists with the hacktivist group DedSec and takes on a variety of missions in and around San Francisco. While first playing the game, I noticed how different it felt from the original entry in the series. Instead of opening with cut scenes of a digital heist gone wrong followed by the traumatic death of the main character s niece, the game starts off by tasking the player to break into a guarded server farm while fun electronic music plays in the background. They even throw in a Mission Impossible reference in the first lines of dialogue when a mysterious digitally altered voice says: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to bypass Blume s security doors and get inside (Watch Dogs 2). • 4. Air Pollution And Its Effects On Health Air pollution is considered the presence of a harmful substance in the air. All aerobic biological system use oxygen as an essential part of their physiological cellular metabolic processes (Valavanidis et. al 2013). With the inclusion of oxygen within our biological systems come complications. More specifically, air pollution has been deemed hazardous to human health. Air pollution is a complex and abundant mixture of pollutants. The combination of matter includes particulate matter, chemical substance, biological materials as well as particles that are large enough to be seen with the naked eye. Regardless the type of particles it consists of, particulate matter is associated with triggering serious health complications. There is an upsurge in awareness of adverse effects on health due to both acute and chronic exposure to particulate matter. • 6. Proper Level Of Segregation Between Audit And Non Audit... Abstract Abstract:The purpose of this research paper is to discuss the proper level of segregation between audit and non audit services, to ensure independence and instill public confidence. In the wake of numerous accounting scandals of Enron, WorldCom, etc, the importance of auditor independence has been brought to the forefront of the accounting profession. The U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) has taken a strict stance on auditor independence, which signifies that an auditor cannot provide business advisory services without impeding their autonomy. However, an analysis of the current auditor client relationship reveals contradictions to the interpretation of absolute auditor independence. In recent developments, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, AICPA s Code of Professional Conduct contains over 200 pages of interpretive guidance on the topic of independence alone. The AICPA and PCAOB stress heavily on the importance of auditor independence, and for good reason. Financial statement users trust independent auditors ability to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement, whether caused by error or fraud. (AU C 200.06) Auditor independence is required to instill public confidence in U.S. financial markets. Thus, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) has a strict view on independence in both fact and appearance. In AU 220.01, PCAOB states that an auditor must be without bias with respect to the client. More specifically, an independent auditor must be free from any obligation to or interest in the client, its management, or its owners. (AU 220.03) This strict interpretation of auditor independence was adopted as a means to restore public confidence in U.S. financial markets following the Enron, Waste Management, and other frauds in the early 2000 s. Unfortunately, the concept of strict auditor independence may be impossible in today s public accounting environment. There are several environmental factors that influence perceived auditor independence. The underlying fee structure for accounting firms that audit public companies prohibits complete auditor client ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The role of women in The Epic of Gilgamesh The role of women is a very important topic in The Epic of Gilgamesh, and various women are chosen to represent various aspects of the mesopotamian conception of women. In the ancient times males were inessential to the preservation of life. The Epic of Gilgamesh shows how the inability of males to give birth causes a sense of despair and alienation. While the representation of women might seem confusing at first with its wide range of traits, the epic tries to demonstrate all aspects of women, some are dominant in some ways. She then replies: You will never find the life for which you are looking. Though she also takes pity on him, she tells Urshanabi to take him to Utnapishtim, the faraway hope of everlasting life. When he gets there, Utnapishtim also asks him: Why is despair in your heart? This time, he replies: The end of mortality has taken over Enkidu..His fate lies heavy upon me. Utnapishtim, aware that Gilgamesh is unable to face his reality, tries to make him understand: There is no permanence..It is only the nymph of the dragonfly, that sheds her larva and sees the sun in its glory. Metaphorically using the dragon fly, Utnapishtim clearly lets Gilgamesh know how the story ends. Males are not mortals, only females are. They do not possess the power that everlasting life brings, only females do. Therefore they cannot procreate, only females can. After all her explaining, he stubbornly sticks with his theory that there is some kind of hope that males can obtain mortality. Knowingly, Utnapishtim agrees to test Gilgamesh. • 8. African American Stereotypes In Fences People are natural evaluators of everything they come across, and they attempt to acquire insights as they evaluate other people. Stereotypes are the beliefs that people hold concerning other human groups after gaining insights about them. Racial stereotypes have been common among African Americans and the whites. In the 20th century, African Americans were stereotyped as contaminated and dirty by the whites; maybe because of the insufficient income they are said to earn. The whites also associate African Americans with substance use. Additionally, the Sambo stereotype associates the black community with slavery and simple mindedness. Mental health has always been identified as one of the main areas for action in the National Health Priority Areas (National Health and Medical Research Council 2016), and depression is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions amongst the young Australians (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2017). Depression is a debilitating condition that substantially impairs individuals ability to function and cope with their daily life due to the experience of negative feelings (NHMRC 2016). • 13. My Experience At New York City For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New York City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed for New Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never visited New York City before. I also remember being excited because of that fact that I would actually get to see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter. Then that next year during my junior year in High School, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Los Angeles with my drill team. I was very excited to get to go to both of these huge awesome cities in that two year period. Both of these cities were unique in their own way. So what makes a city similar to another city and what makes a city different to another city? The people, the weather, the vibe, the monuments and popular attractions are all some of the components of what makes a city unlike any other city. My two favorite cities besides Houston are New York and Los Angeles. I have visited both and like them both equally for different reasons. While New York and Los Angeles definitely have their similarities, they also have many differences that set them apart from each other. In New York they experience all four seasons. The leaves change colors in the fall, it snows in the winter, the grass gets greener because it rains a lot in the spring, and it can get very sunny and unbearably hot in the summer. ... • 14. Criminology And Philosophy Of Detective Fiction Criminology and Philosophy in Detective Fiction Detective fiction consists of various genres that exemplify the intersection of criminology and philosophy. Criminology components can be applied to perpetrators of the crime and their motives even though they are fictional. In a similar manner, the motive and overall story also exemplify components of philosophy. More specifically, the two detective fiction genres of Locked Room stories and Hoist on their Own Petards stories portray crime and perpetrators in relation to philosophy. For example, the detective fiction story, The Leopold Locked Room, written by Edward D. Hoch, exemplifies Hegel s master versus slave theory and components of Hegel s recognition of self while also demonstrating social bonds theory and choice learning theory. Peter Lovesey s detective fiction story, The Secret Lover, also consists of both philosophy and criminology as it demonstrates Hegel s master versus slave theory, metaphysics, object petite x, social bonds theory, and qualities of an organized killer. The Leopold Locked Room Hoch s story, The Leopold Locked Room, is part of the locked room genre and demonstrates many different aspects of both criminology and philosophy. The East India Company The East India Company was a British joint stock company establish on the 31st of December, 1600 under the original name The Company of Merchants of London trading into the East Indies. Over the next hundreds of years the Company set a sail attempting to find riches in trade on their journeys to these new lands. They found value in crops such as indigo, salt, cotton, silk, opium and other cash crops that the barren land of Europe lacked. This would be the company that would set sail to the land of India and dominate its soil from the middle of 1700 s to the middle of the 1800 s. In a little over fifty years the East India Company was transformed from a body of traders controlling a scattered group of commercial settlements round the coasts of India into the rulers of provinces with a population popularly supposed in Britain to contain fifty or sixty million inhabitants. The Company was able to find its growth and power from wealthy merchants and aristocrats that would invest their money into the Company after seeing how successful they were becoming. A healthy amount of these wealthy investors were part of the British Parliament. This intertwined government views and beliefs with the business side of views and beliefs. • 18. Taste Aversion through Classical Conditioning Essay Taste Aversion through Classical Conditioning Classical conditioning states that learning is a gradual process, that it is not possible for a subject to be classically condition in only one trial. However, if you eat something and become sick from it, there is a very good probability that you will develop a strong distaste for that food. This effect is known as taste aversion, which has brought up many questions about classical conditioning. It was Garcia and Koelling (1966) who studied the level of conditioning in rats using two conditioned stimulus (CS), an audiovisual stimulus and a salty flavor added to drinking water. The two unconditioned stimulus (UCS), a mild foot shock and a nausea producing drug. In the conditioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is seen that the rats promptly learned to associate a taste CS with a UCS of nausea but not with the foot shock, where the audiovisual CS was conditioned to the foot shock but not to nausea (Walker 1995). Taste aversion has violated three principles of classical conditioning, the first is that equal associability of stimuli: any CS can be paired with any UCS. This has proven to be untrue because if it were, the rats that became sick would have avoided both the salty water CS and the audiovisual CS. The second principle violated is temporal contiguity: CS and UCS have to be presented close together in time. Again untrue in this case because of such a long delay between drinking the salty water and becoming sick. The third and final principle is that learning is gradual, but in this case only one trial was enough. The studies done by Garcia and Koelling have had much support from many other experiments done in similar or the same situations. A study of ingestional aversion (Gregg, Melanie, Kittrell, Domjan Amsel, 1978), where 12 and 15 day old rats were conditioned by infusing a .5% solution of saccharin into the oral cavity. This was then followed by an oral infusion by the injection of lithium chloride. Stigma Is An Interesting Concept In Social Psychology Because Stigma is an interesting concept in social psychology because it not only studies the experience of marginalized people (who already do not receive enough attention in science) but dissects the inner workings of power imbalances, internal dynamics, and interpersonal conflicts. Arguably the most important foundational text in stigma research, across all disciplines, is Goffman s Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity. Goffman s perspective and definition of stigma has been revised many times since its publication, but it remains one of the most influential works in the field. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socially, stigmatized individuals are usually met with opposition from normal people there is a severe lack of acceptance and alienation that result from stigma, and with these also comes discrimination. Goffman notes that even within the first few minutes of a conversation, a normal person can find fault in stigmatized individuals and entirely shift the tone of the encounter. However, Goffman makes sure to note that stigmatization isn t always a bad thing. Outgroup perceptions and prejudice are definitely detrimental, but stigmatized individuals are often able to form an identity around their stigma or at least positively integrate it into their self concept. As a result, stigmatized people may be able to find support in people with a similar stigma, and can also accept their blemishes. Some, Goffman says, insist that their socially undesirable attributes are actually a blessing in disguise as it has changed their world view or personality for the better. Other scholars have taken Goffman s work, which is truly a foundational stigma text, and dissected and revised his conceptualization. For the purpose of this paper, four articles by Link and Phelen (2001), Major, Kaiser and McCoy (2003), Chen and Bargh (1997), and Scott (1997), will be discussed in the context of Goffman s work. A polish composer, Krzysztof Penderecki, composed an experimental piece, later titled Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima, in 1960. The piece was originally titled 8 37 but was changed when he heard it being performed. Penderecki stated I was struck by the emotional change of the work... I searched for associations and, in the end, I decided to dedicate it to the Hiroshima victims (Jamie Leigh, 2010). Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima is composed for 52 stringed instruments and depicts the horror and tragedy of the bombing. The composer is successful in his ability to manipulate the musical elements, expressive devices, pitch and timbre, to portray the military conflict and negative emotional impact of Hiroshima. Penderecki s purpose of evoking emotions and relating to military conflict is evident in his manipulation of expressive devices, specifically though his use of dynamics. At 3:32, the violas begin playing very loud at ff. After this the other instrument groups have delayed entries with loud fortissimo dynamics. This is seen specifically at 3:32 to 3:45, when a violin and cello group begin to play but are not joining in at the same time. These delayed entries combined create a sense of high tension.
