Banking technology uses information and communication technologies like computers and software to provide banking services to customers in a secure, reliable, and affordable manner. It allows banks to offer services like ATMs, internet banking, mobile banking, online payments, trading, and loans through digital channels. State Bank of India has over 12,000 ATMs across India and offers various digital services to its customers through initiatives in mobile banking, internet banking, and kiosk banking. It aims to expand rural banking through increasing rural branches and ATMs in rural areas by 2012.
