Starting from the material properties of the wafer by ANSYS simulation analysis in contact with the wafer bump deformation due to its own gravity, and verify that it meets the requirements of small deformation wafer transfer. - In this work a single cell and a double cell mono symmetric box girder study profile with the same
cross sectional (enclosed) area and same material thickness were used to obtain the effect of sectorial properties
on the distortional bending stresses and deformation of mono-symmetric box girders. The principles of Vlasov’s
theory of thin walled plates were used to obtain the torsional-distortional equilibrium equation for the analysis
of the study profiles. The distortional bending stresses for the profiles were obtained by numerical
differentiation of the warping function to obtain the distortion diagrasm which formed the base system for
evaluation of the distortional bending moments. By solving the fourth order differential equations for torsionaldistortional
equilibrium the deformations of the study profiles were obtained. The warping functions, the

Microstructure and sliding wear behaviour of stircast ti gr and ti –fe metal ...eSAT Journals
Abstract
The type and weight percentage of reinforcement play important role in microstructure and sliding wear resistance of the composite. The low melting point nonferrous metal matrix composites Tin- Graphite and Tin-Iron metal matrix composites are cast by the liquid stir casting technique with up to 5 and 15 weight percentages of carbon and iron respectively as reinforcements. The sliding wear characteristics are important if the specimens are used as bearing materials for light duty applications. The specimens are polished and etched for microstructure examination to verify the homogeneous dispersion of reinforcements in the matrix. The microstructure examination reveals the uniform dispersion of reinforcements in the matrix. The specimens are also subjected to dry sliding wear on Pin –on –disc wear testing equipment and the weight loss method technique was used to find specific wear rate at the respective sliding distance. The cumulative specific wear rates and friction coefficients are plotted against sliding distance. The specific wear rate curves show the necessity of an optimum weight percentage of reinforcements in the composite to reduce the wear rate. The frictional coefficient versus sliding distance curves show the decrease in frictional force at higher sliding distances as the weight percentage of particulates increases. At higher sliding distances, in case of the Tin –Graphite composite the surface of the specimen observed to be smooth which makes the graphite particles to expose as flakes and act as solid lubricant to reduce wear. The scanning electron microscope image of the surface which is normal to the sliding surface also studied to verify the flake formation during wear. Both mild and severe wear regions are observed.

In the present work, the AA3003/Al2O3 metal matrix composites were manufactured at 10% and 30% volume
fractions of Al2O3. The composites were wear tested at different levels of normal load, sliding speed and sliding
distances. The microstructure of worn surfaces pertaining to AA3003/ Al2O3 composite reveals the fracture of
AA3033 alloy matrix as well as the detachment of Al2O3 particles from the matrix.

Modified maximum tangential stress criterion for fracture behavior of zirconi...dentalid
The veneering porcelain sintered on zirconia is widely used in dental prostheses, but
repeated mechanical loadings may cause a fracture such as edge chipping or delamination.
In order to predict the crack initiation angle and fracture toughness of zirconia/veneer bilayered
components subjected to mixed mode loadings, the accuracy of a new and
traditional fracture criteria are investigated. A modified maximum tangential stress
criterion considering the effect of T-stress and critical distance theory is introduced, and
compared to three traditional fracture criteria. Comparisons to the recently published
fracture test data show that the traditional fracture criteria are not able to properly predict
the fracture initiation conditions in zirconia/veneer bi-material joints. The modified
maximum tangential stress criterion provides more accurate predictions of the experimental
results than the traditional fracture criteria

The development of a smeared-crack model offers a general crack-modeling method that is independent of the structural configuration. It treats cracking as a constitutive material behaviour rather than a geometric discontinuity and lends itself well to implementation in large finite element codes. This paper deals with the implementation in XC of a constitutive model for reinforced concrete elements that takes into account the increase in stiffness of a cracked member due to the development of tensile stresses in the concrete between the cracks, effect known as tension-stiffening. The nonlinear analysis in XC of fiber-like sections with this constitutive model allows for a more general, direct and intuitive evaluation of the crack amplitude than applying the mostly specific formulae developed in the standards. The numerical results obtained by the program compare extremely well with existing designing results issued by other applied methods.

INTERFACIAL STRESS ANALYSIS OF EXTERNALLY PLATED RC BEAMSIjripublishers Ijri
has become a popular retrofit method due to its rapid, simple and other advantages. However, debonding along the
Steel-RC beam interface can lead to premature failure of the structures. The interfacial stresses play a significant role
in understanding this premature debonding failure of such repaired structures. This paper presents a careful finite
element investigation into interfacial stresses in the adhesive layer bonding RC beam and soffit plate. Finite element
modelling issues like proper selection of contact between adherents and symmetry conditions are first
discussed, with particular attention on appropriate finite element meshes for the accurate determination of interfacial
stresses. The interfacial stress behaviour at plate end has been analysed for two cases of loading taken one by applying
uniformly distributed load and the other with a two point loading. Two special cases are considered in two point
loading – for the cases when the plate terminates with-in the constant moment region (CMR) and for the case when
plate is extended beyond constant moment region where bending moment is minimal. The interfacial stresses are
increasing with a reduction in adhesive layer thickness where as the stresses are increasing with the increase in soffit
plate thickness. Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) has shown a significant reduction in interfacial stresses
when compared to steel plate. The interfacial stresses for the plate restricted within the constant moment region are very
high near the plate end leading to flexural debonding compared to the case where plate is extended beyond constant
moment region where bending moment is minimal. The concentration of stresses in the adhesive layer near the plate
end explained the significance in considering their influence in flexural debonding.

that friction traction on the interface between the tool and the deformed material can be represented as
a combination of adhesive friction force and the force that is required to deform surface asperities. In
aluminium extrusion we can clearly distinguish two different areas with respect to friction conditions
such as sticking and sliding and transient zones between them. The lengths of these zones are also
dependent on variation of the choke angle and actual thickness of the profile. To get these values the
material flow problem is to be coupled with the simulation of the tools deformation. A series of
experiments with specially designed tools have been done to investigate how the bearing length and
choke angle may influence the extension of different friction zones and by these means vary the
material flow pattern. The friction models have also been tested with industrial profiles of complex
shapes and have shown good correspondence to reality.

Abstract The stable conformation of a liquid-water drop on a horizontal cylindrical wire is studied. The stable conformation is established with various wire diameters. For each conformation of the drop the surface free energy is calculated using FEM simulation. The free energy for different drop shapes are compared with consideration to different volumes and contact angles. The effect of gravity on droplet shape with respect to wire diameter and droplet volume is observed. The droplet configurations under the influence of gravity and in the absence of gravity are observed and the shapes are described through coordinates of liquid-air and liquid-solid interfaces. The compensation of one interfacial energy with that of another is found. The wetting behaviour of liquid–drop on a wire is found to be significantly different from that on a plane surface under the influence of wire geometry. The numerical model was established taking liquid density at 1000kg/m3 and gravitational acceleration at 9.8 m/s2.The numerical study is important in understanding the spreading of liquid droplets over cylindrical surfaces .The spreading of liquid over surfaces has got wide application in food industry, micro fluidics and more and in understanding the coating behaviour, liquid-solid and liquid-vapour interactions, material properties, etc. Keywords: Surface Free Energy, FEM Simulation, Contact angle, Gravity

ABSTRACT: In this paper, locally resonant single side column plate phononic crystals are studied. Based on the finite element method, the material properties of the scatterer and the effect of the plate shape on the band gap characteristics of the locally resonant single side column plate phononic crystals are calculated and analyzed by use of the multi-physics software COMSOL. Based on the analysis on the effects of the density, the elastic modulus, the poisson ratio and the shape of the scatterer, it is shown that the density, the elastic modulus and the shape of the scatterer can obviously affect the band gaps of phononiccrystals .
Determination of Buckling Loads of Wave Spring Using ANSYSIJRES Journal
Special performance characteristics are individually built into each spring to satisfy a variety of precise operating conditions. Typically, a wave spring will occupy an externally small area for the amount of work it performs. The present work deals with the structural analysis of wave and coil spring by modeling the structural behavior of these springs using three dimensional finite elements (FE) software. The design of spring in suspension system is very important. In this work a wave type of spring is designed and a 3D model is created using CREO software. The model is also varied by changing the length of the spring. Structural analysis has been conducted on the wave spring by varying thickness and number of turns. For the analysis, loads are bike weight with single and two persons. The buckling load is then estimated for both Wave spring and coil spring with the same parameters.
Wear Analysis on Cylindrical Cam with Flexible RodIJRES Journal
Firstly, the kinetic equation of spatial cylindrical cam with flexible rod has been established. Then, an
accurate cylindrical cam mechanism model has been established based on the spatial modeling software
Solidworks. The dynamic effect of flexible rod on mechanical system was studied in detail based on the
mechanical system dynamics analytical software Adams, and Archard wear model is used to predict the wear of
the cam. We used Ansys to create finite element model of the cam link, extracted the first five order mode to
export into Adams. The simulation results show that the dynamic characteristics of spatial cylindrical cam
mechanical system with flexible rod is closed to ideal mechanism. During the cam rotate one cycle, the collision
in the linkage with a clearance occurs in some special location, others still keep a continuous contact, and the
prediction of wear loss is smaller than rigid body.
When a ductile material with a crack is loaded in
tension, the deformation energy builds up around the crack tip
and it is understood that at a certain critical condition voids are
formed ahead of the crack tip. The crack extension occurs by
coalescence of voids with the crack tip. The “characteristic
distance” (Lc) defined as the distance b/w the crack tip & the void
responsible for eventual coalescence with the crack tip. Nucleation
of these voids is generally associated with the presence of second
phase particles or grain boundaries in the vicinity of the crack tip.
Although approximate, Lc assumes a special significance since it
links the fracture toughness to the microscopic mechanism
considered responsible for ductile fracture. The knowledge of the
“characteristic distance” is also crucial for designing the size of
mesh in the finite element simulations of material crack growth
using damage mechanics principles. There is not much work
(experimental as well as numerical) available in the literature
related to the dependency of “characteristic distance” on the
fracture specimen geometry. The present research work is an
attempt to understand numerically, the geometry dependency of
“characteristic distance” using three-dimensional FEM analysis.
The variation of “characteristic distance” parameter due to the
change of temperature across the fracture specimen thickness was
also studied. The work also studied the variation of “characteristic
distance”, due to the change in fracture specimen thickness.
Finally, the ASTM requirement of fracture specimen thickness
criteria is evaluated for the “characteristic distance” fracture
parameter. “Characteristic distance” is found to vary across the
fracture specimen thickness. It is dependent on fracture specimen
thickness and it converges after a specified thickness of fracture
specimen. “Characteristic distance” value is also dependent on the
temperature of ductile material. In Armco iron material, it is
found to decrease with the increase in temperature.

Exploratory study on the use of crushed cockle shell as partial sand replacem...IJRES Journal
The increasing demand for natural river sand supply for the use in construction industry along
with the issue of environmental problem posed by the dumping of cockle shell, a by-product from cockle
business have initiated research towards producing a more environmental friendly concrete. This research
explores the potential use of cockle shell as partial sand replacement in concrete production. Cockle shell used
in this experimental work were crushed to smaller size almost similar to sand before mixed in concrete. A total
of six concrete mixtures were prepared with varying the percentages of cockle shell viz. 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%,
20% and 25%. All the specimens were subjected to continuous water curing. The compressive strength test was
conducted at 28 days in accordance to BS EN 12390. Finding shows that integration of suitable content of
crushed cockle shell of 10% as partial sand replacement able to enhance the compressive strength of concrete.
Adopting crushed cockle shell as partial sand replacement in concrete would reduce natural river sand
consumption as well as reducing the amount of cockle shell disposed as waste.
Congenital Malaria: Correlation of Umbilical Cord Plasmodium falciparum Paras...IJRES Journal
The vertical (trans-placental) transmission of the parasite Plasmodium falciparum from
pregnant mother to fetus during gestational period was investigated in a clinical research involving 43 full term
pregnant women in selected Hospitals in Jimeta Yola, Adamawa State Nigeria. During the observational study,
parasitemia was determined by light microscopic examination of umbilical and maternal peripheral blood film
for the presence of the trophozoites of Plasmodium falciparum. Correlational analysis was then carried on the
result obtained at p<0.05.><0.05) was established between maternal peripheral blood and umbilical cord
blood parasitemia with Pearson’s correlation coefficient of 0.762. Thus, in a malaria endemic area like Yola,
Adamawa State, Nigeria, with a stable transmission of parasite, there is a high probability of vertical
transmission of Plasmodium falciparum parasite from mother to fetus during gestation that can be followed by
the presentation of the symptoms of malaria by the newborn and other malaria related complications. Families
are advised to consistently sleep under appropriately treated insecticide mosquito net to avoid mosquito bite and
subsequent infestation.

Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measure of the balance between sympathetic mediators of heart
rate that is the effect of epinephrine and norepinephrine released from sympathetic nerve fibres acting on the
sino-atrial and atrio-ventricular nodes which increase the rate of cardiac contraction and facilitate conduction at
the atrio-ventricular node and parasympathetic mediators of heart rate that is the influence of acetylcholine
released by the parasympathetic nerve fibres acting on the sino-atrial and atrio-ventricular nodes leading to a
decrease in the heart rate and a slowing of conduction at the atrio-ventricular node. Sympathetic mediators
appear to exert their influence over longer time periods and are reflected in the low frequency power(LFP) of
the HRV spectrum (between 0.04Hz and 0.15 Hz).Vagal mediators exert their influence more quickly on the
heart and principally affect the high frequency power (HFP) of the HRV spectrum (between 0.15Hz and 0.4
Hz). Thus at any point in time the LFP:HFP ratio is a proxy for the sympatho- vagal balance. Thus HRV is a
valuable tool to investigate the sympathetic and parasympathetic function of the autonomic nervous system.
Study of HRV enhance our understanding of physiological phenomenon, the actions of medications and disease
mechanisms but large scale prospective studies are needed to determine the sensitivity, specificity and predictive
values of heart rate variability regarding death or morbidity in cardiac and non-cardiac patients. This paper

Dynamic Modeling for Gas Phase Propylene Copolymerization in a Fluidized Bed ...IJRES Journal
A two-phase model is proposed for describing the dynamics of a fluidized bed reactor used for
polypropylene production. In the proposed model, the fluidized bed is divided into an emulsion and bubble
phase where the flow of gas is considered to be plug flow through the bubbles and perfectly mixed through the
emulsion phase. Similar previous models, consider the reaction in the emulsion phase only. In this work the
contribution of reaction in the bubble phase is considered and its effect on the overall polypropylene production
is investigated the kinetic model is combined with hydrodynamic model in order to develop a comprehensive
model for gas-phase propylene copolymerization reactor. Simulation profiles of the proposed model were
compared with those of well mixed model for the emulsion phase temperature. The simulated temperature
profile showed a lower rate of change compared to the previously reported models due to lower polymerization
rate. Model simulation showed that about 13% of the produced polymer comes from the bubble phase and this
considerable amount of polymerization in the bubbles should not be neglected in any modeling attempt.

materials. However it suffers other problems in flow properties represented by the high viscosity and high
percentage of wax. Samples were collected after the initial and final treatment at CPF, and tested for
physical and chemical properties.wax content is in the range 23-31 weight % while asphalting content is about
0.1 weight% . Resin content is 13-7 weight % and deposits are 0.01 weight%. The carbon number distribution in
the crude is in the range 7-35 carbon atoms. The pour point vary between 39°C-42°C and the boiling point is in
the range 70 °C - 533 °C.

An improved fading Kalman filter in the application of BDS dynamic positioningIJRES Journal
Aiming at the poor dynamic performance and low navigation precision of traditional fading
Kalman filter in BDS dynamic positioning, an improved fading Kalman filter based on fading factor vector is
proposed. The fading factor is extended to a fading factor vector, and each element of the vector corresponds to
each state component. Based on the difference between the actual observed quantity and the predicted one, the
value of the vector is changed automatically. The memory length of different channel is changed in real time
according to the dynamic property of the corresponding state component. The actual observation data of BDS is
used to test the algorithm. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional fading Kalman filter
and the method of the third references, the positioning precision of the algorithm is improved by 46.3% and
23.6% respectively.

In order to analyze the temperature distribution of the low-temperature radiant floor heating system
that uses the condensing wall-hung boiler as the heat source, the heating system is designed according to a typical
house facing south in Shanghai. The experiments are carried out to study the effects of the supply water
temperature on the thermal comfort of the system. Eventually, the supply water temperature that makes people in
the room feel more comfortable is obtained. The result shows that in the condition of that the outside temperature
is 8~15℃ and the relative humidity is 30~70%RH, the temperature distribution in the room is from high to low
when the height is from bottom to top. The floor surface temperature is highest, but its uniformity is very poor.
When the heating system reaches the steady state, the air temperature of the room is uniform. When the supply
water temperature is 63℃ The room is relatively comfortable at the above experimental condition.

symmetric and the DSA algorithm for Asymmetric. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in

to control pests is to use organic fertilizers that make the plant stronger and healthier. This study was conducted
to determine the effects of organic fertilizers with various doses without the use of pesticides in controlling stem
borer, Scirpophaga incertulas. Methods using split-split plot design which consists of two levels of the whole
plot factor (solid and liquid organic fertilizers), two levels of the subplot factor (conventional and industry,
Tiens and Mitraflora), and four levels of the sub-subplot factor of conventional and industry (5, 10, 15, 20
tonnes/ha), and one level of the sub-subplot factor of Tiens and Mitraflora (each 2 ml/l). Based on the results

A novel high-precision curvature-compensated bandgap reference (BGR) without using op-amp
is presented in this paper. It is based on second-order curvature correction principle, which is a weighted sum of
two voltage curves which have opposite curvature characteristic. One voltage curve is achieved by first-order
curvature-compensated bandgap reference (FCBGR) without using op-amp and the other found by using W
function is achieved by utilizing a positive temperature coefficient (TC) exponential current and a linear
negative TC current to flow a linear resistor. The exponential current is gained by using anegative TC voltage to
control a MOSFET in sub-threshold region. In the temperature ranging from -40℃ to 125℃, experimental
results implemented with SMIC 0.18μm CMOS process demonstrate that the presented BGR can achieve a TC
as low as 2.2 ppm/℃ and power-supply rejection ratio(PSRR)is -69 dB without any filtering capacitor at 2.0 V.
While the range of the supply voltage is from 1.7 to 3.0 V, the output voltage line regulation is about1 mV/ V
and the maximum TC is 3.4 ppm/℃.

In this work we reported the carbon dioxide adsorption (CO2) in six different nanostructures in order
to investigate the capturing capacity of the materials at nanoscale. Here we have considered the three different
nanotubes including zinc oxide nanotube (ZnONT), silicon carbide nanotube (SiCNT) and single walled carbon
nanotube (SWCNT). Three different chiralities such as zigzag (9,0), armchair (5,5) and chiral (6,4) having
approximately same diameter are analyzed. The adsorption binding energy values under various cases are
estimated with density functional theory (DFT). We observed CO2 molecule chemisorbed on ZnONT and
SiCNT’s whereas the physisorption is predominant in CNT. To investigate the structural aspect, the tubes with
defects are studied and compared with defect free tubes. We have also analyzed the electrical properties of tubes
from HOMO, LUMO energies. Our results reveal the defected structure enhance the CO2 capture and is
predicted to be a potential candidate for environmental applications.

the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach

Abstract: In the IC industry, commonly used methods are wafer clamping friction transmission type and
vacuum suction. Combining science and theological contact theory,the contact friction transmission
characteristics when using the bump and transmission actuator wafer, the wafer and the end actuators. Starting
from the material properties of the wafer by ANSYS simulation analysis in contact with the wafer bump
deformation due to its own gravity, and verify that it meets the requirements of small deformation wafer transfer.
Compute and solve the friction contact with the wafer bump bristles between.

I. Introduction
Semiconductor wafer transfer robot is a key component in the manufacture of equipment. Its main role is to
achieve rapid transfer between wafers each station with precise positioning. Where in the end effector is a wafer
transfer robot important transmission section, efficient and reliable transmission of a large degree of influence of
the wafer[1]
.
In the wafer transport system, the wafer transfer mode is considered one of the key technical studies[2]
.
Currently, on the end-effector design mainly in two ways: Vacuum adsorption using vacuum adsorption wafer to
complete the transfer.Friction transmission type, use friction to complete the transfer, bump into contact and
contactless edge of end two kinds.

High friction and small deformation are basic requirements for transferring large size of the wafer. In this
paper, bump -contact end as the research object, analyzes the characteristics of the wafer anisotropic materials,
due to the weight of the wafer deformation produced under Ansys simulation bump contact. Focus on under

bump contact friction calculation, influence of transmission microarray bumps friction. Finally, analysis of the
impact of changes in end-effector poses transmission acceleration.
II. Material characteristics of wafer Bump contact
The main purpose of the end effector is designed to reduce the amount of deformation of the wafer, the
wafer transfer process to prevent damage; while increasing the frictional force to prevent wafer slippage in the
transmission process. In order to determine the feasibility of a bump -contact end effector wafer transfer, we
must first determine the material properties of the wafer, in order to calculate the yield stress ; simultaneous
analysis of wafer deformation properties under its own weight , and verify that meet the requirements of small
deformation .
2.1 Analysis of the wafer material parameters determined
Components of the integrated circuit industry in general for monocrystalline silicon wafers, are anisotropic
materials, the initial thickness of the wafer according to changes in the diameter varies. Because the
semiconductor industry to use more Czochralski (CZ) silicon rods production, so this analysis is used in CZ
monocrystalline material parameters of the legal system[3,4]
.

requirements of small deformation. At the same time the bump structure can reduce the weight of the end
effector. The wafer is conducive to steady and rapid delivery.
III. Frictional contact analysis of wafer and solder bump
In the friction transmission process of the wafer, the forces of the wafer as showed in Fig.3.

In order to achieve efficient and reliable transmission of the wafer, on the one hand to consider the design
of the end effector when the stress state of the wafer, the wafer to prevent deformation , breakage ;on the other
hand to improve the wafer transfer friction , effectively increase the transmission acceleration and improve
efficiency . Therefore, when using contactless transmission wafer bump, to in-depth study of the frictional
contact between the wafer bump characteristics analyzed under different frictional contact state changes.
In bionics, bristle array gecko feet are one of the hotspots of current research. Currently, there is
corresponding gecko setae material such as a polymer, silicone rubber used in scientific research[5,6]
.
Experimental studies have shown that, according to the microscopic structure and function of the adhesive can
be made of artificial gecko feet bonding system[7]

According to the above analysis, the known diameter of 300mm, thickness of 775 m , wafer gravity 1.28N.
When using four contact bumps, the wafer gravity on the distribution of the pressure on each bump F=0.32N,
the number of bristles per bump required for n, calculated n = 43243. Due to its flexible bristles will deform and
thus an appropriate increase in the number of bristles. Take n = 43500. According to JKR theory, the actual
contact area AJKR can be approximately equal to πr2

surfaces, τ ≈10MPa, into equation (7) is calculated to produce the frictional force f = 2N.

IV. Conclusions
The end-effector is an important part of the wafer transfer robot, frictional contact between the wafer
characteristics it is the focus of this study. Analysis of characteristics of the wafer anisotropic materials, and
based on the relationship of anisotropic material stiffness matrix material constants of constants and engineering
analyzes to determine the model parameters wafer materials for wafer frictional contact analysis of the
foundation. Wafer bumping against contact transmission mode. The paper analyzed and calculated bristling
array of bumps and friction characteristics between wafers.By elastic contact model theory, derived formulas
friction. Simulation and calculation results show that bump -type contact way to meet the requirements of small
deformation wafer transfer, while using bristles array consisting of friction bump -and transmission actuator can
effectively increase the friction between two contacting surfaces. The application in this way, the transmission
can be increased acceleration, improve the efficiency of the water transfer.
