A Study On Asset Mapping
write here..write here..When I think about this semester as an urban fellow and what I have learned.
I think about asset mapping, the difference between faith based and faith rooted organizations and
making generalized disparaging assumptions about particular groups of people. Most of all I think
about the lingering question that has had me bewildered since the first day of class. 'What is Urban?'
I thought that I had a monopoly on the characterization of urban. Especially, considering that I was
born and raised in an impoverished inner city neighborhood all of my life. My assumptions were
that urban was a way of saying primarily black neighborhoods. This essay seeks to highlight a few
thoughts and what I have learned this semester in the Urban Fellows class.
Nevertheless, I have now come to understand based on in class lectures and power–point slides that
Urban is typically an inner city primarily filled with black and Latino residents. Most often times
these are impoverished neighborhoods. Urban can also be seen as the first ring of suburban
neighborhoods filled with those who have been affected by gentrification . Large clusters of people
living in poverty stricken communities, with a lack of adequate resources or unused resources could
very well describe what urban means. But urban is not all lack of flourishing neighborhoods. In
urban neighborhoods there is more than just the poor or one particular class of people as the
majority. There are inadequate schools,

Mapping And Its Impact On The Contemporary Art
Maps are helpful in providing a symbolic representation of the different characteristics of a specific
region or area. Mapping is meant to inform and guide us in our pursuit of knowledge as it helps to
connect us visually to any location, from across the globe, to our own backyards. Historically
mapping has been used in many different ways, for example they can help to develop battle plans
and devise strategies for winning wars, as well as to help with making boundaries to promote peace.
When we can visually see where we are, in comparison to others, it helps to give us a new
perspective into the political, geographical and social similarities and differences we may share with
other people. Mapping can provide us with valuable insight into the way other people live, think and
behave. Mapping has become an important aspect in the contemporary art world as the availability
to view and share artwork with others around the world has been made more readily available.
Contemporary art as viewed through the notion that geography can lead to artists engaging with the
earth's surface in a way that can be observed through artistic experimentation. Many different
mediums can be used by the artists in order for them to express what they are trying to communicate
as it relates to where they are in to world. Three different approaches to geography that can be used
by contemporary artists include using the body as a map, political geographies, and trash
geographies. Using the body as a

Intraoperative Brain Mapping
Treatments no longer costing an arm and a leg During open heart surgery, a machine assumes
control of lung function and pumping the blood around the patient's body. Intraoperative brain
mapping, sometimes called awake brain surgery, is a procedure used to remove brain tumours
without damaging the brain, and as the name suggests, the patient is sedated but very much awake.
Procedures such as these are nothing short of remarkable, and as science and medicine continue to
develop, conditions which would have meant certain death can now be treated with relative ease.
Although we can save lives this sometimes comes at a cost, and in the case of diabetes and some
cancers, limb amputation is a necessary compromise; but that could be about to change. ... Show

The research that is being conducted focuses largely on the electrical and chemical interactions and
relationships within organisms. The magnitude of the negative charges of cells are identified with an
in vivo dye which causes more negative areas to glow more brightly. What has been found is that
more negative areas in frogs essentially plot where certain features, in one case the eyes, are going
to develop. By manipulating an area on the tail slightly more negative, the frog developed with an
eye on its tail. Such a small alteration had such a significant outcome on the frog, which is an
indication of how powerful this research is. Chemical modification was also found to strongly
influence the developing embryos when a frog embryo was treated with Prilosec, a stomach acid
relief drug, which caused craniofacial defects as well as causing the organs to develop on opposite
sides of the body. Prilosec interfered with the movement of the ion set, potassium and hydrogen,
which was enough to impact patterning in the developing frog, resulting in defects. Research in the
field has also been applied to try and improve severed spinal cords. In these tests, the movement of
nerves was controlled by introducing a charge difference across the break in the spine. This caused
nerves to move towards the charge and from here they were able to heal. Although it was found that
the nerves couldn't move past the scar tissue, the experiment indicated that these techniques have to
potential to be effectively applied to developed individuals, which could mean a chance at recovery
for those living with spinal

Orthographic Mapping Development
One of the things that I have learn and that are interested to me is to know how teaching children to
read can be complex and challenging but, if you have the right tools and the skills you can prevent
most reading problems and help children who has difficulties reading. Moats on the first chapter,
mentions that reading problems can be improved through appropriate instruction; and according to
findings, a classroom instruction that builds phoneme awareness, phonic decoding skills, text
reading fluency, vocabulary, and various aspects of comprehension is the best antidote for reading
difficulty. She also mentions a concern about how many teachers can be licensed with one course or
a little background on reading methods and reading psychology, or language structure leaving the
without the understanding and tools that enable instruction. ... Show more content on

Gene Mapping Essay
Gene mapping is used to map the relative positions of genes on a chromosome using cross over
frequency 1% recombinant frequency is equal to 1 map unit (mu). The order of gene and the relative
distance between them is essential for mapping. Genetic markers are used to determine the location
on the DNA. The study of gene mapping on humans allows understanding the structure, function
and organization of DNA. Whereas on non–humans will provide the basic knowledge for
comparative studies, that is critical to understand for more complex systems. Gene maps are relevant
for industrial and medical senses. This is also known as much cost effective way to follow
generations in short period. Genes involved in genetic inherited diseases will be identified and also

THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN STAGING LIVE EVENTS
In this report I am going to be discussing different types of digital technology, all of which have
majorly evolved in recent years, and are always being used in today's events industry. Examples of
digital technologies include: video mapping, podcasts, lighting and sounds. In this report I am going
to focus on the evolution of video mapping and social media, and how it is used within different
types of events.
What is Video Mapping?
Video mapping is projecting a video onto a 3D object (i.e. a building). It creates an interactive show,
which engages the audience. Video mapping has hugely developed in recent years, with new
technologies allowing more and more opportunities for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1960's, the first ever email was sent, and this was where online social media began to
commence. Although the first recognisable social media website was called Six Degrees, and was
not created until 1997. This allowed users to design a profile and chat with other users on the site –
however, two years on, in 1999, the first blogging sites started to become popular, which is what
started the social media sites that we know today. This lead to social media exploding in popularity,
and next is how social media has evolved.
In the early 2000's, MySpace became increasingly popular and in 2005 YouTube was created. This
was a huge advance in technology, as it allowed users an entirely different and new way for people
to share videos globally. A year on, Facebook and Twitter were introduced, and are still the most
popular social networking websites. After this, many different social media sites began to surface –
Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram and Spotify, to name a few.
Facebook, being the most popular, has over 24 million active users per day, which is 37.5% of the
population. The beauty of social media is that users have an environment where they can share
posts, photos, videos, and even music to people around the world instantly. Social media is evolving

Create a Future State Value Stream
Map
Now that we have a better understanding of the current state of affairs, we are ready to draw a
picture of how we would like things to look in the future.
Typically, as an example, we aim to make things flow and reduce the amount of inventory or waiting
in between steps.
It's at this point that we can create an ideal work process.
Create an Action Plan
Now that we know how things are working today and how we would like to see them working in the
future it's time to form a plan.
There are a variety of templates available for this. We should know exactly what needs to happen
and when it needs to happen.
In short, we form the plan... then execute the plan!
VSM procedures
For making the improvements, some examples:
– Use Work (Time, Motion, ..) studies to identify NVAs & eliminate them
– Modularisation / Standardisation
– Design changes to improve Constructability
– Off–site fabrication and assembly
– Reducing Batch size – E.g., going in for multiple smaller batching plants in the site to enhance
flexibility in delivery of concrete mix.
– Bringing closely interconnected operations (E.g. Formwork, reinforcement and concreting) under
supervision of one agency
– Implementing pull system through Kanban Cards (E.g. Block work, formwork etc) for better
control on inventory management at the central storage yard, smooth logistics within site and for

The Performance Of Tone Mapping
3 PREVIOUS WORK
Because of the great interest of HDR images and their advantages, tone mapping techniques are
used to display these images on LDR devices. Many researchers made different studies for
evaluating the performance of tone mapping algorithms. Debevec and Malik proposed that a HDR
image can be created from three or more LDR images of the same scene under different exposures.
Through technological advances and the development of photograph technology, we can get access
to HDR cameras which can take HDR photos and videos directly now. Therefore, there is an
increasing demand for tone mapping algorithms. There are two types of tone mapping algorithm:
global operators and local operators. The global tone mapping methods are simply mapped the input
HDR image I^h (x,y) to an output LDR image I^l (x,y) = f (I^h (x,y)) , where f () is a global
compression function which is spatially invariant, such as gamma function, linear function,
histogram based function and the function adapted to tone reproduction curves. Hence, the local
tone mapping methods decompose the input HDR image into multiple layers or areas, apply
different compressing algorithm in different layers or areas and recombine all the layers or areas into
a LDR image. Similar with Durand, Farbman which segmented the HDR image into two layer a
base layer and a detail layer, while the base layer is obtained by applying an alternative edge–
reserving smoothing operator and the detail layer is obtained by

Object Relational Mapping ( Orm )
Object Relational Mapping (ORM) is a programming technique for converting data between
incompatible types in object oriented programming languages. ORM can be considered as a
mechanism that helps and aids in addressing, accessing and manipulating data without having to
necessarily consider the relationship between the data and the data source. Programmers can
maintain a constant view of objects over time and can adapt to application access or data delivery
changes while using ORM. ORM manages the mapping properties amongst a set of objects that
have underlying relational databases, repositories or other sources of data that simultaneously hide
constant details that have been changed in related interfaces from the developers and the code they
create. ORM makes it theoretically possible for developers to switch applications between relational
databases. Since ORM tools mostly rely heavily on metadata of both the database and objects, the
objects do not need to know anything about the database and the database doesn't need to know
anything about how the data is structured in the application. ORM provides a clean well designed
data application.
Advantages of ORM
The most important key feature of using ORM is the mapping it uses to bind an object to its
database. ORM performs the task of managing the application's interactions with the database.
There are various number of benefits to using ORM for development of database applications. The
productivity increases as during

Churchill Mapping Essay
On the battlefield leaders are faced with challenging mission requirements. The information age has
sensitized us to a variety of assets that have rarely been available but have rarely been organized,
integrated and synchronized with our traditional assets (Murphy 1996) . As technology advances,
leadership must adopt these assets for better situational understanding. Due to its range of technical
applications, the Churchill mapping system would give commanders better situational understanding
and aid ground forces in decision making. When the Nation calls upon the Army to fight and win its
next war, the operational environment will be unlike the circumstances of our recent experiences
(Perkins 2017) . It will be defined by an enemy who will challenge our ability to maintain freedom
of maneuver and superiority across air, cyberspace, land and space domains (Perkins 2017). To aid
commanders, the camera of the Churchill system allows video to be recorded and downlinked to a

Essay On Blackfoot Mapping
Our lives are journeys. The paths we walk are unique, shaped perfectly by the shoes we wear. The
footprints we leave behind become our own personal maps. Therefore, mapping can be seen as a
metaphor for a journey. Humans are incredibly complex creatures. In order to understand humans
one must look at their entire being, not just the physical but the mental. Whether you believe in
souls or not you must admit that there is an immaterial aspect of each human. Our conscience, mind,
and emotions are all included in this invisible force. These elements are what make us humans
human. To complicate things further, not a single human is ever identical to another. Because
humans are so diverse no doubt maps are all influenced by the hands that create ... Show more

Everyone's map has a bias behind it that is an undisputed fact. In order to understand one way of
mapping you must understand the mind behind the map. One map will not show what another map
does, therefore limiting its reader to the possibilities. For example in Binnema's writing we learn
about the difficulties that the European's had with translating Blackfoot maps. As it turns out they
require a different level of thinking than European mapping. One man discovered this. Taking the
time to appreciate Blackfoot mapping, Peter Fidler integrated himself into the lives of the Blackfoot
people. He was able to learn directly from them and understand their way of mapping. Other
Europeans read Blackfoot maps as if they were European (Binnema, 2001, p. 208). European maps
limited Europeans minds by making them think solely as Europeans. No doubt the Blackfoot people
would have also found a difficulty with attempting to understand European maps. Open mindedness
is required if you wish to get past these biases. The more you learn about mapping the more you
understand the culture and people behind a particular

Mike Rother and John Shook were asked to use their knowledge of Toyota practices to create a
simple tool for managers to enable them to see the flow of value. They came up with Value Stream
Mapping. This lean tool can help companies optimize their production in such a way that it results in
drastic reduction in cost and throughput time and also improved quality.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) allows user to create a concrete plan to make most efficient use of
the available resources. VSM is one of the most powerful lean tool for an organization in
implementing and improving on its lean journey. VSM shows the all the process from order entry to
delivery. The value stream in a VSM is the point at which value is actually added to the product or
service by changing its market form or function. Value adding activities can be things like:
machining, assembly, welding, folding and so on.
Scope of Value Stream
Value Stream Map can be drown for three different levels: An extended level map as the view of the
values stream at 60,000 feet, the facility level map at 30,000 feet and the process level map at
10,000 feet.

1.2 Benefits
As quoted directly from the website (How to teach mind mapping and how to make a mind map) the
authors have listed the following as key benefits when using Mind mapping in the educational
environment.
Mind mapping can
"Help students brainstorm and explore any idea, concept, or problem"
"Facilitate better understanding of relationships and connections between ideas and concepts"
"Make it easy to communicate new ideas and thought processes"
"Allow students to easily recall information"
"Help students take notes and plan tasks"
"Make it easy to organize ideas and concepts"
David Kelly who is the founder of IDEO explains that mind maps allow him to associate freely and
that it is an excellent tool to prompt you to ask questions, exposing relationships between previously
unforseen concepts (Kelley 2006).
Quoted directly from (Kelley 2006) David also goes on to say, "The cool thing is that you allow
yourself to follow your inner thoughts, which is different than making a list where you are trying to

Competency Mapping
Introduction :
A lot is going on in recent times on the issue of competency mapping. A lot of resource is spent and
consultants are invited to do competency mapping. Competency mapping is gaining much more
importance and organizations are aware of having good human resources or putting the right people
on right job.
Competency mapping is important and is an essential exercise. Every well managed firm should
have well defined roles and list of competencies required to perform each role effectively. Such list
should be used for recruitment, performance management, promotions, placements and training
needs identification.
In performing or carrying out work, it is essential that the required job skills first be articulated. This

Organizations describe, or map, competencies using one or more of the following four strategies:
1. Organization–Wide (often called "core competencies" or those required–for–organization–
success)
2.Job Family or Business Unit Competency Sets
3.Position–SpecificCompetencySets
4. Competency Sets Defined Relative to the Level of Employee Contribution (i.e. Individual
Contributor, Manager, or Organizational Leader)
This article will not go into depth about the differences among the four mapping strategies. Instead,
the focus here will be on ways that individuals need to present or demonstrate the use of the various
kinds of competencies when interacting with organizations.
Research is ongoing about the nature of competencies that are important for success across many
organizations. There are a number of sources that describe some very common personal functioning
competencies found to be important for employees at all levels across organizations. One good
quote in this area is from Michael Zwell (2000, pgs. 53–55), the author of Creating A Culture of
Competence when he says, "From the body of competency research to date, a basic set of 6
competencies would differentiate the top quartile of performers from the rest in most positions in an
organization: Initiative, Influence, Results Orientation, Teamwork, Service Orientation, and,
Concern for Quality."
In addition, research on the importance of "emotional intelligence" to organization success is

What Is Brain Mapping?
Brain mapping is the study of the anatomy and function of the brain and spinal cord through the use
of imaging. (Sharon Linde, 3/16/16) It requires slicing a brain into 1,000 thin sections and digitally
stitching it back together with supercomputers. (Courtney Humphries, 3/16/16) Brain mapping
provides a solid understanding of the anatomy of the brain. (Sharon Linde, 3/16/16) Goal of brain
mapping is to advance the understanding of the relationship between structure and function in the
human brain. (UCLA Brain Mapping Center, 3/22/16) Scientists can take a picture of healthy brains
and compare it to an unhealthy brain. Brain mapping will help doctors understand brain injuries
better. It can help doctors understand how humans learn. This could lead to changes to the education
system. Doctors can see what parts of the brain are responsible for what. They can see what parts of

Overall, students should become aware of the basic considerations of APA and then look for a guide
or tool that assists them in finding up to date information and guidelines. These tools are not a
replacement for a student's own critical thinking skills (Kaplan Writing Center, 2006). Students may
use information from another source in different ways. One way this may be accomplished is by
paraphrasing. When students paraphrase information, they restate or rephrase the information in
their own words. This does not simply mean that students can move one or two words around and
call the work paraphrased. In order to do this properly, students must significantly change the words
used by the original source. Then, the student must cite the source in the text of that paper as well as
in more detail at the end of the paper in the final reference section. According to the APA guide
(2002), "When paraphrasing or referring to an idea contained in another work, authors are not
required to provide a location reference (e.g., a page or paragraph number)" (p. 121). In addition to
paraphrasing, when students are writing a research paper, they may also need to use an author's
exact words or statistics. The main reason for choosing this method is because it was said so well
and the student does not want to change the words. In addition, this can happen when a student

Their study showed that patients are still at risk to develop pressure ulcers when repositioned every

Perceptual Mapping Of A Product Or Brand
Perceptual mapping is a graphical technique that helps marketers to get a visual display regarding
perception of customers or potential customers. The position of a product or brand is displayed
comparative to their competition. Perceptual maps are often used to help the organization to classify
a positioning strategy. Perceptual mapping graph is useful to find out strength and weakness
compare to other company product. Also, it helps to recognize the competitive advantage for the
product. Moreover, it finds the market opportunity. It shows the empty space where brand or product
has opportunities to improve their product quality and retain or gain competitive advantage. In

Below I am going to do perceptual mapping for auto industry including rating one to five: In that

mapping .Those are Expensive VS Cheap and Sporty VS Conservative. In vertical axis I have shown
Sporty VS Conservative and horizontal axis I shown Expensive VS Cheap. Moreover I rate this in
five point rating scale (1–5) and attach a excel file with that for a clear view of my mapping. In that
mapping Jaguar is my selected brand and main competitors are Mercedes and Audi. So, after
reviewing that map it can be say that for this three specific brand there has same target customer.
However, among those three brands Jaguar holds a moderate position that means they have sporty
cars but not like the competitor. So, to get a better position jaguar has to reposition this brand. For
that Jaguar have to identify competitor advantages that it do not have right now. In that mapping the
market leader is Audi .That means they have different variety of sports cars and those cars are more
expensive. Mercedes holds second position in that market that means they have more sports cars
rather than Jaguar but not as many as Audi. However, there cars are not much expensive. After

VISUAL STREAM MAPPING 1.1 Introduction Lean manufacturing is a production practice that
considers the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end
customer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination. Working from the perspective of the
customer who consumes a product or service, "value" is defined as any action or process that a
customer would be willing to pay for. The goal of Lean is to becomes the creation and maintenance

different elements of a product line from another. For example, different arrows should be used to
distinguish between product and information movement. The figure 1.0 below contains commonly

A Study On The Mapping Process Of Mapping The Coordinates...
ABSTRACT Named entity disambiguation is a very interesting problem having wide ranging
applications. It is the process of mapping the mentions of persons, organisations, events etc. in
textual documents to real world entities. The mapping process becomes tedious when these
mentions in the text are commonly used to describe more than one real world entities. It is then said
that the mention is ambiguous. If the mentions can be correctly mapped to the corresponding real
world entities, then it can lead to a more informative and intuitive web experience where the textual
documents can be linked to other knowledge bases which contain more information on various
entities described in the document. In this report, we have surveyed well known research papers in
the field of named entity disambiguation and have described the approaches suggested in them.
Successive sections of report aim to solve the shortcomings of the algorithms discussed in the
previous sections. INTRODUCTION The recent years have seen a huge increase in the number of
online documents. This has resulted in a huge amount of information being available at the click of a
mouse. But, at the same time, the retrieval of relevant information from this collection of
unstructured documents has emerged as a challenging task and is a topic of research. A major part of
retrieving information out of a document is finding out the words or phrases of significance in the

A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize all types of information. The idea been thought
of is written down and then linked by curves to its major idea or fact, this will then create a web of
relationships (Business Dictionary 2016). The purpose of mind mapping is that it can improve my
knowledge, memory and ideas to further extents.
Commonly, mind mapping can be used in a variety of ways such as note taking, problem solving
and brainstorming. This artifact can impact on my learning positively as it can enhance my

Mapping Brain Function
There were three general approaches to mapping brain functions. With extirpation, parts of the brain
are systematically destroyed to observe the subsequent behavior (Marshall Hall and Pierre Fourens).
In the clinical method, the researcher looks at the brains of people after they died who exhibited odd
behavior in life (Paul Broca). Finally, electrical stimulation of the brain and body was used to
observe the muscle twitches (Fritsch and Hitzig).
Gall was concerned with mapping brain functions from both inside and outside. When looking at the
brain from the outside, he developed cranioscopy, later known as phrenology, which proposes that
the shape of one's skull reveals intellectual or emotional characteristics. Phrenology quickly became
popular and profitable across Europe and in the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

anesthesia but the patient will shortly wake up after the surgery process begins. Let's take Ms.
Brittany Capone for example. Ms. Capone had a tumor going for a while now and intraoperative
brain mapping was the third try for doctors. Ms. Capone's tumor was in an area of her brain that
would lead to affected speech. The doctors wanted Capone to be awake during surgery to ask her
questions. After the skull is open, the doctors wake Ms. Capone. As the surgeons probe her tumor,
the technician begins asking questions. The doctors are looking for any indication of hesitation with
Capone's answers. This shows the doctors an indication of being close to her language center.
Doctors ask a set of questions and when the surgeon asks "what do you paint with," Ms. Capone
hesitates with umm. This then gives the surgeon the time to map the hesitation area and the surgeon
moves away from that area realizing their closeness to speech. Ms. Capone left the hospital in four
days with the difficulty of reading and speaking for a week due to normal brain swelling but in two
months later, Capone was back at

Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange Of Die ( Smed )...
Introduction:
In today's world, opening or managing a company is very difficult. The Economic crisis, heavy
taxation and barriers of entrance in some countries, make it more difficult. But all blame can't be
given to external factors. Most of the times the critical factors are inside the company. So what is the
right way of managing a company? In this assignment I studied and analyzed three tools that can
help me and are fundamental to success in this business world that is ruled by time and efficiency.
The tools I selected are: Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Value
Stream Mapping.
VISUAL MANAGEMENT:
In order to continuously improve and progress as an organization, people need to observe,
communicate and sharing information. The visual management is a strategy that make information
easier to interpret and immediately available. Is such an intuitive strategy, many people don't even
realize that they used it in their daily lives and despites this prevalent outside of work place most of
organizations don't know how to take follow advantage of it. The simplicity of visual management
causes many people to overlook its usefulness.

Purpose Of The Mapping Project
Some time ago, I received a call from an elderly shut in lady explaining that she had no access to
transportation and that there was some problem with her SNAP benefits that month. Consequently,
she was in poor health and had specific dietary needs. Her friend, that normally would help, was not
able to take her to a local pantry. She went on to ask if we would be able to bring just a little food to
tie her over until someone could take her somewhere for food. Imagine the feeling of insecurity that
this woman must have been experiencing. This is just one of many calls the food bank receives. It is
just such a call that made the mapping project GMFB conducted so necessary.
The purpose of the mapping project was to gain a better insight into the counties GMFB services
and their demographics. Additionally, it was necessary to have a better understanding of the
agencies we currently support and the part they play in their communities. Are the areas under
served? Are the areas over served? Is there any duplication of service? In food banking, agencies are
nonprofit organizations that link GMFB and the hungry. An agency will have a distribution model
that provides access to meals, groceries and/or benefits for a targeted population in the community.
Over time, we began to gather information on food insecurity, poverty levels, areas with high
numbers of free and reduced lunch provided, locations of subsidized housing, and finally pantry
locations unsupported by the food

The people who stand in this position believe that an individual should have choices in the items he

published in International Journal of Preventive Medicine", writer Amar Kanekar states that the
main cause of childhood obesity in today's public health crisis in both developed and
underdeveloped countries is because of the disproportion between the child's caloric intake and the
calories effectively used for growth/development and physical activities. To these people, what we
eat is not the sole reason of the cause of obesity; genetic, behavioral, and environmental are all
constituents of childhood obesity. Moreover, many health–related risks are present when a child is
obese; negative body–image and low self–esteem inevitably result in psychological and social
issues. Cardiovascular disease, increased cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure are all possible
potential health risks involved and that there is, indeed, "preventive programs that help regulate
obesity by educating individuals about healthy nutrition and diseases" (Kanekar 2). According to a

What Makes a Community Worth Gaming for
Dear friends and students of UTA, I humbly come to you with a simple argument, one that is close
to my heart. Though it may sound trivial, the argument has been raging on for three decades, and has
grown to a nation wide debate. The question: is there such thing as a gaming community? Again, the
question may sound inconsequential, but consider this fellow Mavericks, what makes a community?
Is it just a group of people meeting and having a good time? Or is it more? Is something like gaming
able to unite people from all across the world? Admittedly, the argument is rather close to my heart.

In terms of organization, it is perhaps not as strong as a community based upon physical land, but
what it lacks in town hall meetings and elections, it makes up in conventions and LAN tournaments.
The gaming community boasts large gaming conventions such as PAX, and E3, where thousands of
gamers meet and socialize while playing the newest games. LAN is Local Area Network, which is
used to hold massive tournaments where many can pit themselves against other gamers. These
Colosseums are where the celebrities of the gaming world are born, rising from the bodies of the
hundreds they had slain to win. There is no law keeping force, or governing body to be sure, but it is
still a community that can have an impact on the world. The gaming community is not a legitimate
community. It is not legitimate due to its lack of due to its lack of organization. It may claim to be
united but there is little evidence to prove it. The community is too broken; there is division with
consoles, whether an Xbox or a PC is better. There is division on the genre of games such as
shooting games, role playing games and puzzle games. The communities are too far apart to be a

Visual inspection of the MRI image is used to determine intensity thresholds or the fatty,
fibroglandular, and transition regions in the histogram of Fig. 2(b). The intensity at which the local
peak occurs within the higher end of the intensity spectrum of Fig. 2(b) is mapped to the median
Debye parameters chosen for fatty tissue. The maximum pixel intensity within this fatty region of
the histogram is mapped to the minimum fatty tissue Debye parameters, and the minimum fatty
tissue pixel intensity is mapped to the maximum fatty tissue Debye parameters. The same process is
applied to the fibroglandular tissue region clustered at the lower end of the pixel intensity spectrum.
Pixel intensities within the transition region are mapped to Debye parameters that span the range

ABSTRACT
Technological advancements such as Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and the Internet have
made it easier and affordable to share information, which enables complex and time sensitive
decisions to be made with higher confidence. Further, advancements in information technology have
dramatically increased the ability to store, manage, integrate, and correlate larger amounts of data to
improve operational efficiency. The studies have shows that crime is on the rise and that the police
are handicapped in managing it because of the obsolete methods and resources at their disposal.
Therefore, crime maps are becoming significant tools in crime and justice. Advances in the areas of
information technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have opened new opportunities
for the use of digital mapping in crime control and prevention programs. Crime maps are also
valuable for the study of the ecology and the locational aspects of crime. Maps enable areas of
unusually high or low concentration of crime to be visually identified. Maps are however only
pictorial representations of the results of more or less complex spatial data analyses. Therefore, the
study therefore seeks to

internet. The higher level binding effort went on increasing to different level of development up to
the currently used Domain Name System. DNS, being an open source, it is less secured and it has no
means of determining whether domain name data comes from an authorized domain owner. So these
vulnerabilities lead to a number of attacks. Hence, there is a need of securing DNS. Using Advanced
Encryption Standards, it performs normal encryption. By reversing this encryption, decryption is
also performed. Domain Name System has number of workgroups and these workgroups are

A Study On Asset Mapping

  • 1. A Study On Asset Mapping write here..write here..When I think about this semester as an urban fellow and what I have learned. I think about asset mapping, the difference between faith based and faith rooted organizations and making generalized disparaging assumptions about particular groups of people. Most of all I think about the lingering question that has had me bewildered since the first day of class. 'What is Urban?' I thought that I had a monopoly on the characterization of urban. Especially, considering that I was born and raised in an impoverished inner city neighborhood all of my life. My assumptions were that urban was a way of saying primarily black neighborhoods. This essay seeks to highlight a few thoughts and what I have learned this semester in the Urban Fellows class. Nevertheless, I have now come to understand based on in class lectures and power–point slides that Urban is typically an inner city primarily filled with black and Latino residents. Most often times these are impoverished neighborhoods. Urban can also be seen as the first ring of suburban neighborhoods filled with those who have been affected by gentrification . Large clusters of people living in poverty stricken communities, with a lack of adequate resources or unused resources could very well describe what urban means. But urban is not all lack of flourishing neighborhoods. In urban neighborhoods there is more than just the poor or one particular class of people as the majority. There are inadequate schools, ... • 3. Mapping And Its Impact On The Contemporary Art Maps are helpful in providing a symbolic representation of the different characteristics of a specific region or area. Mapping is meant to inform and guide us in our pursuit of knowledge as it helps to connect us visually to any location, from across the globe, to our own backyards. Historically mapping has been used in many different ways, for example they can help to develop battle plans and devise strategies for winning wars, as well as to help with making boundaries to promote peace. When we can visually see where we are, in comparison to others, it helps to give us a new perspective into the political, geographical and social similarities and differences we may share with other people. Mapping can provide us with valuable insight into the way other people live, think and behave. Mapping has become an important aspect in the contemporary art world as the availability to view and share artwork with others around the world has been made more readily available. Contemporary art as viewed through the notion that geography can lead to artists engaging with the earth's surface in a way that can be observed through artistic experimentation. Many different mediums can be used by the artists in order for them to express what they are trying to communicate as it relates to where they are in to world. Three different approaches to geography that can be used by contemporary artists include using the body as a map, political geographies, and trash geographies. Using the body as a ... • 5. Intraoperative Brain Mapping Treatments no longer costing an arm and a leg During open heart surgery, a machine assumes control of lung function and pumping the blood around the patient's body. Intraoperative brain mapping, sometimes called awake brain surgery, is a procedure used to remove brain tumours without damaging the brain, and as the name suggests, the patient is sedated but very much awake. Procedures such as these are nothing short of remarkable, and as science and medicine continue to develop, conditions which would have meant certain death can now be treated with relative ease. Although we can save lives this sometimes comes at a cost, and in the case of diabetes and some cancers, limb amputation is a necessary compromise; but that could be about to change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The research that is being conducted focuses largely on the electrical and chemical interactions and relationships within organisms. The magnitude of the negative charges of cells are identified with an in vivo dye which causes more negative areas to glow more brightly. What has been found is that more negative areas in frogs essentially plot where certain features, in one case the eyes, are going to develop. By manipulating an area on the tail slightly more negative, the frog developed with an eye on its tail. Such a small alteration had such a significant outcome on the frog, which is an indication of how powerful this research is. Chemical modification was also found to strongly influence the developing embryos when a frog embryo was treated with Prilosec, a stomach acid relief drug, which caused craniofacial defects as well as causing the organs to develop on opposite sides of the body. Prilosec interfered with the movement of the ion set, potassium and hydrogen, which was enough to impact patterning in the developing frog, resulting in defects. Research in the field has also been applied to try and improve severed spinal cords. In these tests, the movement of nerves was controlled by introducing a charge difference across the break in the spine. This caused nerves to move towards the charge and from here they were able to heal. Although it was found that the nerves couldn't move past the scar tissue, the experiment indicated that these techniques have to potential to be effectively applied to developed individuals, which could mean a chance at recovery for those living with spinal ... Orthographic Mapping Development One of the things that I have learn and that are interested to me is to know how teaching children to read can be complex and challenging but, if you have the right tools and the skills you can prevent most reading problems and help children who has difficulties reading. Moats on the first chapter, mentions that reading problems can be improved through appropriate instruction; and according to findings, a classroom instruction that builds phoneme awareness, phonic decoding skills, text reading fluency, vocabulary, and various aspects of comprehension is the best antidote for reading difficulty. She also mentions a concern about how many teachers can be licensed with one course or a little background on reading methods and reading psychology, or language structure leaving the without the understanding and tools that enable instruction. ... The order of gene and the relative distance between them is essential for mapping. Genetic markers are used to determine the location on the DNA. The study of gene mapping on humans allows understanding the structure, function and organization of DNA. Whereas on non–humans will provide the basic knowledge for comparative studies, that is critical to understand for more complex systems. Gene maps are relevant for industrial and medical senses. This is also known as much cost effective way to follow generations in short period. Genes involved in genetic inherited diseases will be identified and also they contribution to the diseases. Video Mapping Essay THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN STAGING LIVE EVENTS In this report I am going to be discussing different types of digital technology, all of which have majorly evolved in recent years, and are always being used in today's events industry. Examples of digital technologies include: video mapping, podcasts, lighting and sounds. In this report I am going to focus on the evolution of video mapping and social media, and how it is used within different types of events. What is Video Mapping? In the 1960's, the first ever email was sent, and this was where online social media began to commence. Although the first recognisable social media website was called Six Degrees, and was not created until 1997. This allowed users to design a profile and chat with other users on the site – however, two years on, in 1999, the first blogging sites started to become popular, which is what started the social media sites that we know today. This lead to social media exploding in popularity, and next is how social media has evolved. In the early 2000's, MySpace became increasingly popular and in 2005 YouTube was created. This was a huge advance in technology, as it allowed users an entirely different and new way for people to share videos globally. A year on, Facebook and Twitter were introduced, and are still the most popular social networking websites. After this, many different social media sites began to surface – Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram and Spotify, to name a few. Create a Future State Value Stream Map Now that we have a better understanding of the current state of affairs, we are ready to draw a picture of how we would like things to look in the future. Typically, as an example, we aim to make things flow and reduce the amount of inventory or waiting in between steps. It's at this point that we can create an ideal work process. Create an Action Plan Now that we know how things are working today and how we would like to see them working in the future it's time to form a plan. • 19. The Performance Of Tone Mapping 3 PREVIOUS WORK Because of the great interest of HDR images and their advantages, tone mapping techniques are used to display these images on LDR devices. Many researchers made different studies for evaluating the performance of tone mapping algorithms. Debevec and Malik proposed that a HDR image can be created from three or more LDR images of the same scene under different exposures. Through technological advances and the development of photograph technology, we can get access to HDR cameras which can take HDR photos and videos directly now. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for tone mapping algorithms. There are two types of tone mapping algorithm: global operators and local operators. The global tone mapping methods are simply mapped the input HDR image I^h (x,y) to an output LDR image I^l (x,y) = f (I^h (x,y)) , where f () is a global compression function which is spatially invariant, such as gamma function, linear function, histogram based function and the function adapted to tone reproduction curves. Hence, the local tone mapping methods decompose the input HDR image into multiple layers or areas, apply different compressing algorithm in different layers or areas and recombine all the layers or areas into a LDR image. Similar with Durand, Farbman which segmented the HDR image into two layer a base layer and a detail layer, while the base layer is obtained by applying an alternative edge– reserving smoothing operator and the detail layer is obtained by ... • 21. Object Relational Mapping ( Orm ) Object Relational Mapping (ORM) is a programming technique for converting data between incompatible types in object oriented programming languages. ORM can be considered as a mechanism that helps and aids in addressing, accessing and manipulating data without having to necessarily consider the relationship between the data and the data source. Programmers can maintain a constant view of objects over time and can adapt to application access or data delivery changes while using ORM. ORM manages the mapping properties amongst a set of objects that have underlying relational databases, repositories or other sources of data that simultaneously hide constant details that have been changed in related interfaces from the developers and the code they create. ORM makes it theoretically possible for developers to switch applications between relational databases. Since ORM tools mostly rely heavily on metadata of both the database and objects, the objects do not need to know anything about the database and the database doesn't need to know anything about how the data is structured in the application. ORM provides a clean well designed data application. Advantages of ORM The most important key feature of using ORM is the mapping it uses to bind an object to its database. ORM performs the task of managing the application's interactions with the database. There are various number of benefits to using ORM for development of database applications. The productivity increases as during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The information age has sensitized us to a variety of assets that have rarely been available but have rarely been organized, integrated and synchronized with our traditional assets (Murphy 1996) . As technology advances, leadership must adopt these assets for better situational understanding. Due to its range of technical applications, the Churchill mapping system would give commanders better situational understanding and aid ground forces in decision making. When the Nation calls upon the Army to fight and win its next war, the operational environment will be unlike the circumstances of our recent experiences (Perkins 2017) . It will be defined by an enemy who will challenge our ability to maintain freedom of maneuver and superiority across air, cyberspace, land and space domains (Perkins 2017). Therefore, mapping can be seen as a metaphor for a journey. Humans are incredibly complex creatures. In order to understand humans one must look at their entire being, not just the physical but the mental. Whether you believe in souls or not you must admit that there is an immaterial aspect of each human. Our conscience, mind, and emotions are all included in this invisible force. These elements are what make us humans human. To complicate things further, not a single human is ever identical to another. As it turns out they require a different level of thinking than European mapping. One man discovered this. Taking the time to appreciate Blackfoot mapping, Peter Fidler integrated himself into the lives of the Blackfoot people. He was able to learn directly from them and understand their way of mapping. Other Europeans read Blackfoot maps as if they were European (Binnema, 2001, p. 208). European maps limited Europeans minds by making them think solely as Europeans. No doubt the Blackfoot people would have also found a difficulty with attempting to understand European maps. Open mindedness is required if you wish to get past these biases. Overall, students should become aware of the basic considerations of APA and then look for a guide or tool that assists them in finding up to date information and guidelines. These tools are not a replacement for a student's own critical thinking skills (Kaplan Writing Center, 2006). Students may use information from another source in different ways. One way this may be accomplished is by paraphrasing. When students paraphrase information, they restate or rephrase the information in their own words. This does not simply mean that students can move one or two words around and call the work paraphrased. In order to do this properly, students must significantly change the words used by the original source. Then, the student must cite the source in the text of that paper as well as in more detail at the end of the paper in the final reference section. According to the APA guide (2002), "When paraphrasing or referring to an idea contained in another work, authors are not required to provide a location reference (e.g., a page or paragraph number)" (p. 121). In addition to paraphrasing, when students are writing a research paper, they may also need to use an author's exact words or statistics. The main reason for choosing this method is because it was said so well and the student does not want to change the words. It is the process of mapping the mentions of persons, organisations, events etc. in textual documents to real world entities. The mapping process becomes tedious when these mentions in the text are commonly used to describe more than one real world entities. It is then said that the mention is ambiguous. If the mentions can be correctly mapped to the corresponding real world entities, then it can lead to a more informative and intuitive web experience where the textual documents can be linked to other knowledge bases which contain more information on various entities described in the document. In this report, we have surveyed well known research papers in the field of named entity disambiguation and have described the approaches suggested in them. • 57. Mind Mapping Artifact A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize all types of information. The idea been thought of is written down and then linked by curves to its major idea or fact, this will then create a web of relationships (Business Dictionary 2016). The purpose of mind mapping is that it can improve my knowledge, memory and ideas to further extents. Commonly, mind mapping can be used in a variety of ways such as note taking, problem solving and brainstorming. This artifact can impact on my learning positively as it can enhance my understanding better. With mind mapping I would be able to organize my time effectively which can keep me ahead of my studies. • 59. Mapping Brain Function There were three general approaches to mapping brain functions. With extirpation, parts of the brain are systematically destroyed to observe the subsequent behavior (Marshall Hall and Pierre Fourens). In the clinical method, the researcher looks at the brains of people after they died who exhibited odd behavior in life (Paul Broca). Finally, electrical stimulation of the brain and body was used to observe the muscle twitches (Fritsch and Hitzig). Gall was concerned with mapping brain functions from both inside and outside. When looking at the brain from the outside, he developed cranioscopy, later known as phrenology, which proposes that the shape of one's skull reveals intellectual or emotional characteristics. Phrenology quickly became popular and profitable across Europe and in the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Humans will cut into each other a lot of times in order to get rid of deadly disease and even just to remove excess body fat. The reality that we do not marvel about these on a daily basis shows how advanced surgery has grown over the years. Surgery is a safer and more reliable tool including a necessary component of health care. Previously, the surgeries themselves were brutal from lack of understandings toward anesthesia and none of the tools accessible today with operations forced and traumatic. With the present tools through surgery, brain surgery has changed greatly. This article chosen was aligning with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of being asleep like other surgeries previously mentioned, doctors give pain reliever such as anesthesia but the patient will shortly wake up after the surgery process begins. Let's take Ms. Brittany Capone for example. Ms. Capone had a tumor going for a while now and intraoperative brain mapping was the third try for doctors. Ms. Capone's tumor was in an area of her brain that would lead to affected speech. The doctors wanted Capone to be awake during surgery to ask her questions. After the skull is open, the doctors wake Ms. Capone. As the surgeons probe her tumor, the technician begins asking questions. The doctors are looking for any indication of hesitation with Capone's answers. This shows the doctors an indication of being close to her language center. Doctors ask a set of questions and when the surgeon asks "what do you paint with," Ms. Capone hesitates with umm. This then gives the surgeon the time to map the hesitation area and the surgeon moves away from that area realizing their closeness to speech. Ms. Capone left the hospital in four days with the difficulty of reading and speaking for a week due to normal brain swelling but in two months later, Capone was back at ... The Economic crisis, heavy taxation and barriers of entrance in some countries, make it more difficult. But all blame can't be given to external factors. Most of the times the critical factors are inside the company. So what is the right way of managing a company? In this assignment I studied and analyzed three tools that can help me and are fundamental to success in this business world that is ruled by time and efficiency. The tools I selected are: Visual Management, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and Value Stream Mapping. VISUAL MANAGEMENT: In order to continuously improve and progress as an organization, people need to observe, communicate and sharing information. The visual management is a strategy that make information easier to interpret and immediately available. Is such an intuitive strategy, many people don't even realize that they used it in their daily lives and despites this prevalent outside of work place most of organizations don't know how to take follow advantage of it. The simplicity of visual management causes many people to overlook its usefulness. Image using a water faucet with impropriate mark handles. • 65. Purpose Of The Mapping Project Some time ago, I received a call from an elderly shut in lady explaining that she had no access to transportation and that there was some problem with her SNAP benefits that month. Consequently, she was in poor health and had specific dietary needs. Her friend, that normally would help, was not able to take her to a local pantry. She went on to ask if we would be able to bring just a little food to tie her over until someone could take her somewhere for food. Imagine the feeling of insecurity that this woman must have been experiencing. This is just one of many calls the food bank receives. It is just such a call that made the mapping project GMFB conducted so necessary. The purpose of the mapping project was to gain a better insight into the counties GMFB services and their demographics. Additionally, it was necessary to have a better understanding of the agencies we currently support and the part they play in their communities. Are the areas under served? Are the areas over served? Is there any duplication of service? In food banking, agencies are nonprofit organizations that link GMFB and the hungry. An agency will have a distribution model that provides access to meals, groceries and/or benefits for a targeted population in the community. Over time, we began to gather information on food insecurity, poverty levels, areas with high numbers of free and reduced lunch provided, locations of subsidized housing, and finally pantry locations unsupported by the food ... Being the second cause of preventable death in the United States, obesity increases the risk of numerous adverse health problems including breast cancer, heart disease, type II diabetes, osteoarthritis, colon cancer, stroke, and more. Obesity is defined as an excess proportion of total body fat, with a person being considered obese if his or her weight is twenty percent or more above normal body weight. A common way to measure obesity is by calculating the body mass index. An individual is considered overweight if his or her BMI is between twenty five and thirty, ... In the article "Childhood Obesity: A Global Public Health Issue" published in International Journal of Preventive Medicine", writer Amar Kanekar states that the main cause of childhood obesity in today's public health crisis in both developed and underdeveloped countries is because of the disproportion between the child's caloric intake and the calories effectively used for growth/development and physical activities. To these people, what we eat is not the sole reason of the cause of obesity; genetic, behavioral, and environmental are all constituents of childhood obesity. Moreover, many health–related risks are present when a child is obese; negative body–image and low self–esteem inevitably result in psychological and social issues. Cardiovascular disease, increased cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure are all possible potential health risks involved and that there is, indeed, "preventive programs that help regulate obesity by educating individuals about healthy nutrition and diseases" (Kanekar 2). Pressure Mapping Critique This paper is an academic critique of an article written by Kirkland–Walsh, Teleten, Wilson, and Raingruber (2015) titled: Pressure mapping comparison of four OR surfaces. The authors sought to examine the results found from testing four different patient care surfaces commonly found in operating room suites. My analysis methodically focuses on specific aspects of the article relating to the process and research methods along with their associated results. While I think that the study itself is valid, I personally question if the volunteer population adequately and accurately represents an average surgical patient population in terms of health and comorbidities. Mapping the Issue Essay Jonathan Lee Eng 1302 8 March 2012 Thomas Tutt What Makes a Community Worth Gaming for Dear friends and students of UTA, I humbly come to you with a simple argument, one that is close to my heart. Though it may sound trivial, the argument has been raging on for three decades, and has grown to a nation wide debate. The question: is there such thing as a gaming community? Again, the question may sound inconsequential, but consider this fellow Mavericks, what makes a community? Is it just a group of people meeting and having a good time? Or is it more? Is something like gaming able to unite people from all across the world? Admittedly, the argument is rather close to my heart. I have been interested games since the age of five. I ... In terms of organization, it is perhaps not as strong as a community based upon physical land, but what it lacks in town hall meetings and elections, it makes up in conventions and LAN tournaments. The gaming community boasts large gaming conventions such as PAX, and E3, where thousands of gamers meet and socialize while playing the newest games. LAN is Local Area Network, which is used to hold massive tournaments where many can pit themselves against other gamers. These Colosseums are where the celebrities of the gaming world are born, rising from the bodies of the hundreds they had slain to win. There is no law keeping force, or governing body to be sure, but it is still a community that can have an impact on the world. The gaming community is not a legitimate community. It is not legitimate due to its lack of due to its lack of organization. It may claim to be united but there is little evidence to prove it. The community is too broken; there is division with consoles, whether an Xbox or a PC is better. There is division on the genre of games such as shooting games, role playing games and puzzle games. The communities are too far apart to be a single gaming community. Take a look at the most played game in the world, League of Legends . • 75. Fibroglandular Mapping 1) Uniform Mapping: This method follows the strategy presented in [11] and [24] and uses a smooth linear mapping between the range of MRI pixel intensities in the breast interior and a range of Debye parameters around a median baseline. The rowlabeled as "average tissue" in Table I summarizes the Debye parameters for the median baseline and the corresponding dielectric constant and conductivity at 6 GHz. The histogram of Fig. 3(a) shows the range and distribution of dielectric constants at 6 GHz that result from applying this uniform mapping scheme to the data of Fig. 2(b) assuming a variability of 50% about the median. This result illustrates a general feature of all three mapping schemes–that low MRI pixel intensities (dense fibroglandular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Visual inspection of the MRI image is used to determine intensity thresholds or the fatty, fibroglandular, and transition regions in the histogram of Fig. 2(b). The intensity at which the local peak occurs within the higher end of the intensity spectrum of Fig. 2(b) is mapped to the median Debye parameters chosen for fatty tissue. The maximum pixel intensity within this fatty region of the histogram is mapped to the minimum fatty tissue Debye parameters, and the minimum fatty tissue pixel intensity is mapped to the maximum fatty tissue Debye parameters. The same process is applied to the fibroglandular tissue region clustered at the lower end of the pixel intensity spectrum. Pixel intensities within the transition region are mapped to Debye parameters that span the range between the fatty maximum and fibroglandular minimum. Fig. 3(b) shows a histogram of the resulting dielectric constant at 6 GHz when the median Debye parameters are assigned the values listed in Table I for fatty and fibroglandular tissue and the variation about each of the two medians is chosen to be ... CRIME MAPPING IN KENYA: USING GIS TO EXAMINE CRIME SITUATION IN ELDORET METROPOLIS By CAROLINE JEPKEMBOI CHEPLONG A RESEARCH CONCEPT NOTE SUBMITTED IN PARTIAL FULFIMENT OF THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS OF UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI JULY, 2015 ABSTRACT Technological advancements such as Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and the Internet have made it easier and affordable to share information, which enables complex and time sensitive decisions to be made with higher confidence. Further, advancements in information technology have dramatically increased the ability to store, manage, integrate, and correlate larger amounts of data to improve operational efficiency. The studies have shows that crime is on the rise and that the police are handicapped in managing it because of the obsolete methods and resources at their disposal. Therefore, crime maps are becoming significant tools in crime and justice. Advances in the areas of information technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have opened new opportunities for the use of digital mapping in crime control and prevention programs. Crime maps are also valuable for the study of the ecology and the locational aspects of crime. Maps enable areas of unusually high or low concentration of crime to be visually identified. Maps are however only pictorial representations of the results of more or less complex spatial data analyses. Therefore, the study therefore seeks to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This book starts out with a girl named Lisa talking about how her class is learning how to use maps. The story then proceeds to Lisa making many different kinds of maps. Throughout the book, she creates maps of places like her bedroom, her dog's treasure map, and her dog's favorite places. The book talks about important things that need to be added to a map, which I find extremely helpful. This is one reason I think this book is such a great resource to use for social studies. Another reason I think it is a good resource is because the maps are very detailed, which helps students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The higher level binding effort went on increasing to different level of development up to the currently used Domain Name System. DNS, being an open source, it is less secured and it has no means of determining whether domain name data comes from an authorized domain owner. So these vulnerabilities lead to a number of attacks. Hence, there is a need of securing DNS. Using Advanced Encryption Standards, it performs normal encryption. By reversing this encryption, decryption is also performed. Domain Name System has number of workgroups and these workgroups are connected to the server. This server is connected to the server of other domain and the proposed system secures client using AES.
