LARGE-SCALE DATA PROCESSING USING MAPREDUCE IN CLOUD COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTijwscjournal
The computer industry is being challenged to develop methods and techniques for affordable data processing on large datasets at optimum response times. The technical challenges in dealing with the increasing demand to handle vast quantities of data is daunting and on the rise. One of the recent processing models with a more efficient and intuitive solution to rapidly process large amount of data in parallel is called MapReduce. It is a framework defining a template approach of programming to perform large-scale data computation on clusters of machines in a cloud computing environment. MapReduce provides automatic parallelization and distribution of computation based on several processors. It hides the complexity of writing parallel and distributed programming code. This paper provides a comprehensive systematic review and analysis of large-scale dataset processing and dataset handling challenges and
requirements in a cloud computing environment by using the MapReduce framework and its open-source implementation Hadoop. We defined requirements for MapReduce systems to perform large-scale data processing. We also proposed the MapReduce framework and one implementation of this framework on Amazon Web Services. At the end of the paper, we presented an experimentation of running MapReduce
system in a cloud environment. This paper outlines one of the best techniques to process large datasets is MapReduce; it also can help developers to do parallel and distributed computation in a cloud environment.

services that comprise sensors, computing/storage/networking hardware, operating system, management tools, virtualization and message passing interface (MPI); (ii) data transmission and storage services that provide connectivity to various big data sources, as well as cached and stored datasets in a distributed
storage backend; and (iii) processing and visualization services that provide user access to rich processing and visualization tools and packages essential to various scientific research workflows. Built on commodity hardware and open source software packages, the Southern Nevada Research Cloud(SNRC)and a data repository in a separate location constitute a low cost solution to deliver all these services around CaaS. The service-oriented architecture and implementation of the SNRC are geared to encapsulate as much detail of big data processing and cloud computing as possible away from end users; rather scientists only need to learn and access an interactive web-based interface to conduct their collaborative, multidisciplinary, dataintensive research. The capability and easy-to-use features of the SNRC are demonstrated through a use case that attempts to derive a solar radiation model from a large data set by regression analysis.

The growth of internet of things and wireless technology has led to enormous generation of data for various application uses such as healthcare, scientific and data intensive application. Cloud based Storage Area Network (SAN) has been widely in recent time for storing and processing these data. Providing fault tolerant and continuous access to data with minimal latency and cost is challenging. For that efficient fault tolerant mechanism is required. Data replication is an efficient mechanism for providing fault tolerant mechanism that has been considered by exiting methodologies. However, data replica placement is challenging and existing method are not efficient considering application dynamic requirement of cloud based storage area network. Thus, incurring latency, due to which induce higher cost of data transmission. This work present an efficient replica placement and transmission technique using Bipartite Graph based Data Replica Placement (BGDRP) technique that aid in minimizing latency and computing cost. Performance of BGDRP is evaluated using real-time scientific application workflow. The outcome shows BGDRP technique minimize data access latency, computation time and cost over state-of-art technique.

Outsourcing information to an outsider authoritative control, as is done in distributed computing, offers ascend to security concerns. The information trade off may happen because of assaults by different clients and hubs inside of the cloud. Hence, high efforts to establish safety are required to secure information inside of the cloud. On the other hand, the utilized security procedure should likewise consider the advancement of the information recovery time. In this paper, we propose Division and Replication of Data in the Cloud for Optimal Performance and Security (DROPS) that all in all methodologies the security and execution issues. In the DROPS procedure, we partition a record into sections, and reproduce the divided information over the cloud hubs. Each of the hubs stores just a itary part of a specific information record that guarantees that even in the event of a fruitful assault, no important data is uncovered to the assailant. Additionally, the hubs putting away the sections are isolated with certain separation by method for diagram T-shading to restrict an assailant of speculating the areas of the sections. Moreover, the DROPS procedure does not depend on the customary cryptographic procedures for the information security; in this way alleviating the arrangement of computationally costly approaches. We demonstrate that the likelihood to find and bargain the greater part of the hubs putting away the sections of a solitary record is to a great degree low. We likewise analyze the execution of the DROPS system with ten different plans. The more elevated amount of security with slight execution overhead was watched.
Coupling-Based Internal Clock Synchronization for Large Scale Dynamic Distrib...Angelo Corsaro
This paper studies the problem of realizing a common software clock among a large set of nodes without an external time reference (i.e., internal clock synchronization), any centralized control and where nodes can join and leave the distributed system at their will. The paper proposes an internal clock synchronization algorithm which combines the gossip-based paradigm with a nature-inspired approach, coming from the coupled oscillators phenomenon, to cope with scale and churn. The algorithm works on the top of an overlay network and uses a uniform peer sampling service to fullfill each node’s local view. Therefore, differently from clock synchronization protocols for small scale and static distributed systems, here each node synchronizes regularly with only the neighbors in its local view and not with the whole system. Theoretical and empirical evaluations of the convergence speed and of the synchronization error of the coupled-based internal clock synchronization algorithm have been carried out, showing how convergence time and the synchronization error depends on the coupling factor and on the local view size. Moreover the variation of the synchronization error with respect to churn and the impact of a sudden variation of the number of nodes have been analyzed to show the stability of the algorithm. In all these contexts, the algorithm shows nice performance and very good self-organizing properties. Finally, we showed how the assumption on the existence of a uniform peer-sampling service is instrumental for the good behavior of the algorithm.

due to hardware / software failures and human errors. Data owners and public verifiers are involved to
efficiently audit cloud data integrity without retrieving the entire data from the cloud server. File and
block signatures are used in the integrity verification process.
“One Ring to RUle Them All” (Oruta) scheme is used for privacy-preserving public auditing process. In
oruta homomorphic authenticators are constructed using Ring Signatures. Ring signatures are used to
compute verification metadata needed to audit the correctness of shared data. The identity of the signer
on each block in shared data is kept private from public verifiers. Homomorphic authenticable ring
signature (HARS) scheme is applied to provide identity privacy with blockless verification. Batch
auditing mechanism supports to perform multiple auditing tasks simultaneously. Oruta is compatible
with random masking to preserve data privacy from public verifiers. Dynamic data management process
is handled with index hash tables. Traceability is not supported in oruta scheme. Data dynamism
sequence is not managed by the system. The system obtains high computational overhead
The proposed system is designed to perform public data verification with privacy. Traceability features
are provided with identity privacy. Group manager or data owner can be allowed to reveal the identity of
the signer based on verification metadata. Data version management mechanism is integrated with the

Anonymization of data using mapreduce on cloudeSAT Journals
Abstract In computer world cloud services are provided by the service providers. The user wants to share the private data which are stored in cloud server for different reasons like data mining, data analysis etc. These can bring the privacy concern. Privacy preservation can be satisfied by Anonymizing data sets through generalization to satisfy privacy requirements by using k-anonymity technique which is a widely used type of privacy preserving techniques. At present days the data of cloud applications are increasing their scale day by day concern with Big Data trend. So it is very difficult thing to accept, manage, maintain and process the large scaled data with-in the required time stamps. Thus for privacy preserving on privacy sensitive , large scaled data is very difficult task for existing anonymization techniques because they will not manage the scaled data sets. This approach addresses the anonymization problem on large scale cloud data sets using two phase top down specialization approach and MapReduce framework. Innovative MapReduce jobs are carefully designed in both phases of this technique to achieve specialization computation on scalable data sets. Scalability and efficiency of Top Down Specialization (TDS) is significantly increased over the existing approach. Keywords: Top Down Specialization, MapReduce, Data Anonymization, Cloud Computing, Privacy Preservation

Cloud Computing is the revolution in current generation IT enterprise. Cloud computing displaces database and application software to the large data centres, where the management of services and data may not be predictable, where as the conventional solutions, for IT services are under proper logical, physical and personal controls. This aspect attribute, however comprises different security challenges which have not been well understood. It concentrates on cloud data storage security which has always been an important aspect of quality of service (QOS). In this paper, we designed and simulated an adaptable and efficient scheme to guarantee the correctness of user data stored in the cloud and also with some prominent features. Homomorphic token is used for distributed verification of erasure – coded data. By using this scheme, we can identify misbehaving servers. In spite of past works, our scheme supports effective and secure dynamic operations on data blocks such as data insertion, deletion and modification. In contrast to traditional solutions, where the IT services are under proper physical, logical and personnel controls, cloud computing moves the application software and databases to the large data centres, where the data management and services may not be absolutely truthful. This effective security and performance analysis describes that the proposed scheme is extremely flexible against malicious data modification, convoluted failures and server clouding attacks.

NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates

Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.

Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.

A Scalable Two Phase Top Down Specialization Approach for Data
Anonymization Using Map Reduce on Cloud
A large number of cloud services require users to share private data like electronic health records
for data analysis or mining, bringing privacy concerns. Anonymizing data sets via generalization
to satisfy certain privacy requirements such as k-anonymity is a widely used category of privacy
preserving techniques. At present, the scale of data in many cloud applications increases
tremendously in accordance with the Big Data trend, thereby making it a challenge for
commonly used software tools to capture, manage, and process such large-scale data within a
tolerable elapsed time. As a result, it is a challenge for existing anonymization approaches to
achieve privacy preservation on privacy-sensitive large-scale data sets due to their insufficiency
of scalability. In this paper, we propose a scalable two-phase top-down specialization (TDS)
approach to anonymize large-scale data sets using the MapReduce framework on cloud. In both
phases of our approach, we deliberately design a group of innovative MapReduce jobs to
concretely accomplish the specialization computation in a highly scalable way. Experimental
evaluation results demonstrate that with our approach, the scalability and efficiency of TDS can
be significantly improved over existing approaches.
A widely adopted parallel data processing framework, to address the scalability problem
of the top-down specialization (TDS) approach for large-scale data anonymization. The
TDS approach, offering a good tradeoff between data utility and data consistency, is
widely applied for data anonymization. Most TDS algorithms are centralized, resulting in
their inadequacy in handling largescale data sets. Although some distributed algorithms
have been proposed, they mainly focus on secure anonymization of data sets from
multiple parties, rather than the scalability aspect.
