This document reviews the challenges involved in implementing building information modeling (BIM) in the Indian construction industry. It identifies several key challenges including difficulties changing management processes, lack of top management commitment, inadequate BIM training programs, lack of BIM standards, and unclear legal liabilities. The document conducted a literature review on BIM implementation and identified five categories of risk factors: technical, management, environmental, legal, and financial. It concludes that promotion and adoption of BIM in India will require proactive involvement from construction firms and strategies to address these challenges and risk factors.
