A MATCH GAME.
Strips of paper will be given. They will
match figurative language with it’s
examples.
Motivation
I have here some things, and I want you to
describe them as detailed as possible
You put it on top of the bottle’s cap, lodge
the bottom point of the bottle opener under
the cap, and carefully pull the handle
upward. This will bend the cap and release
the bottle from the cap’s hold.”
Ans.“To open doors or locks, you put it
inside the appropriate keyhole and
then twist it until the lock opens.”
Unlocking of difficulties
Hilda borrowed a caxton from the library.
She needed it as a reference for her
research..
A caxton is a book printed by William
Caxton, the first man to print books in
English.
Harold shrieked with pain when his finger
toes hit the edge of the wall. His high-
pitched cry woke his sister up.
A shriek is a loud, sharp, high-pitched cry
people make, commonly when in sudden
pain, or when scared.
The experts are still trying to figure out the
meaning of the engravings into the wall.
These inscriptions were probably written
thousands of years ago.
Engravings are designs formed on a hard
surface, such as wood, metal or stone..
. Juan tried to work with the apparatus for
his project. The complicated instrument
was hard to work with.
An apparatus is an instrument, machinery,
tool, material, that has a particular function
or intended use.

Every day we are confronted with certain
things that we do not understand and we
paused for a while, reflect in ourselves
whether those things are real or just an
illusion.

At some point, we are all Martians. We are
all aliens in our very own world. Our
understanding of what is lies on our
experience, on our culture and language
facility on naming things.
