This document presents a thesis on designing a Data Governance Maturity Model (DGMM) to assess organizational maturity of data governance. It begins with an introduction that establishes the background and relevance of the research. The objective is to define a framework for assessing data governance maturity and giving recommendations for organizational growth. A literature review is conducted to answer contextual and content questions. Based on the literature, a DGMM is designed with dimensions, levels, and criteria. Empirical research is then conducted by interviewing experts at a research organization to validate the DGMM. The results show that the DGMM is found to be relevant and valid for assessing data governance maturity. Some additions and adjustments to the model are also identified. In conclusion

Gartner EA: The Rise of Data-driven ArchitecturesLeanIX GmbH
This document discusses the rise of data-driven architectures and the need for enterprise architecture (EA) tools to shift their focus from models to delivering actionable insights from data. It notes that most EA survey respondents felt current tools focus too much on drawings and not enough on useful answers. The document outlines how a data-driven EA can provide business value through faster decision making and addresses challenges around complexity, speed and data integration. It advocates that EA tools prioritize democratization, integration and accelerating decisions. The document also discusses trends around cloud infrastructure and the need for tools to help analyze multi-cloud environments and design cloud governance.

Straight Talk to Demystify Data LineageDATAVERSITY
Are you sure you trust the data you just used for that $10 million decision? To trust data authenticity we must first understand its lineage. However, the term "Data Lineage" itself is ambiguous since it is used in different contexts. "Business Lineage" links metadata constructs to specific terms in a business glossary. This approach is used by numerous Data Governance solutions. This approach alone comes up short, since it doesn't trace the real flow of information through an organization. "Technical Lineage" traces data's journey through different systems and data stores, providing an audit trail of the changes along the way. True "Data Lineage" combines both aspects, providing context to fully understand the data life cycle. Every step in data's journey is a potential source for introduction of error that could compromise Data Quality, and hence, business decisions. In this session, Ron Huizenga offers a comprehensive discussion of data lineage and associated Data Quality remediation approaches that are essential to build a foundation for Data Governance.
When it comes to creating an enterprise AI strategy: if your company isn’t good at analytics, it’s not ready for AI. Succeeding in AI requires being good at data engineering AND analytics. Unfortunately, management teams often assume they can leapfrog best practices for basic data analytics by directly adopting advanced technologies such as ML/AI – setting themselves up for failure from the get-go. This presentation explains how to get basic data engineering and the right technology in place to create and maintain data pipelines so that you can solve problems with AI successfully.

Change is hard, especially in response to negative stimuli or what is perceived as negative stimuli. So organizations need to reframe how they think about data privacy, security and governance, treating them as value centers to 1) ensure enterprise data can flow where it needs to, 2) prevent – not just react – to internal and external threats, and 3) comply with data privacy and security regulations.
Working together, these roles can accelerate faster access to approved, relevant and higher quality data – and that means more successful use cases, faster speed to insights, and better business outcomes. However, both new information and tools are required to make the shift from defense to offense, reducing data drama while increasing its value.
Join us for this panel discussion with experts in these fields as they discuss:

With the rapid evolution of Information Technology (IT) applications, and practices across the organization, appropriate IT Governance (ITG) has become essential to an organization’s success. The use of IT has become pervasive in every facet of the organisations’ endeavours in supporting and evolving each aspect of the business. Building the Digital Business: The 2016 CIO AgendaTesora
This presentation discusses how organizations can build a digital platform and business. It recommends that organizations think differently by creating a portfolio of algorithms, data, and patents to exploit network effects. It also recommends innovating through a bimodal delivery platform to drive speed and scale, and modernizing the core IT infrastructure with an open platform to capitalize on network effects. Recommended actions include investing in a bimodal delivery platform, connecting across delivery modes, and adding IoT and ecosystems to the core infrastructure platform to architect a digital business.
The document discusses the key findings and recommendations from Gartner's 2016 CIO Agenda survey. Some of the main points summarized are:
- The survey collected responses from over 2,900 CIOs across various industries and 84 countries regarding their priorities and challenges.

The document describes the Gartner Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program Maturity Model which outlines 5 levels of maturity for an organization's IAM program:
1. Initial - Ad hoc processes with little awareness or value.
2. Defined - Certain business drivers identified and tactical priorities set with informal roles and processes.
3. Managed - IAM vision and strategy defined and aligned with business, formal processes and governance established.
4. Operational Excellence - IAM architecture refined, processes integrated and contribution to business imperatives is high.
5. Transformational - IAM vision, strategy, processes, architecture and governance optimized for maximum business value.

In this presentation from the CDO Sit-Down series, Shaun Connolly, Vice President of International Strategic Services, shares his thoughts and experience on approaches to win over reluctant leaders and business teams and describe the key components of successful programs.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
