This document presents the background and methodology for a case study exploring how native English-speaking teachers adjust their teaching strategies in Taiwan's academic culture. The study aims to understand teachers' expectations of Taiwanese students, and how teachers modify their approaches to address differences from their home culture expectations. One native English teacher and their students in Taichung, Taiwan will participate. Qualitative interviews and quantitative questionnaires will be used to collect and analyze data on how the teacher adapts to cultural differences between their expectations and Taiwan's academic environment.
