This document presents the background, purposes, research questions, literature review, methodology, and procedures for a study on using American movies to enhance English listening comprehension for non-English major freshmen in Taiwan. The study aims to understand student attitudes towards movie dialogues and identify the impact of movies on listening skills. It involves two classes, one receiving a regular English course and one receiving an extra American movie course, who will be tested before and after to assess comprehension improvement and attitudes will be collected via questionnaires.
