independent clauses joined by a coordinating
conjunction.
Ex: I tried to take Spanish, and Kobe did too.
4. A complex sentence has a independent clause
joined by one or more dependent clauses. A
complex sentence also always has a
subordinator.
Ex: When he handed in his homework, he
forgot to give the teacher the last page.
5. A compound complex sentence is made from
two independent clauses and one or more
dependent clauses.
Ex: Although I like to go camping, I haven't
had the time to go lately, and I haven’t found
anyone to go with.
6. An imperative sentence usually tells a
command.
Ex: Aj get your but down here and clean your
room.
7. A declarative sentence makes a statement. It is
also marked by a period.
Ex: I have basketball practice on Mondays and
Wednesdays.
8. An interrogative sentence asks a question. It is
marked with a question mark.
Ex: Where did you put my basketball?
9. An exclamatory sentence expresses great
emotion or excitement. It ends with an
exclamation mark.
