2. The 1970s Began with a continuation of the mini skirts,
bell-bottoms, and the hippie look from the late 1960s.

3. By the mid 1970s, the hippie look had completely disappeared however saw
the birth of the indifferent, anti-conformist approach to fashion, which

in 1975, women's semi-formal wear became more tailored and

4. By 1977, pants were only flared slightly and sometimes not
flared at all and fashion became more baggy. During this time

5. Many changes, events, and attitudes defined the 1970s. In fact, 70s culture was by the end of
the decade – far different than that of the previous decade, when the hippie culture dominated
the scene, especially in the US.
One change that made a huge impact on 70s culture was the growth of women’s rights. As the
60s became the 70s, women were making their way out of the kitchen and into the workplace.
Music was also a huge part of 70s culture. The Rock and Roll genre that took the 60s by storm
continued to burgeon and had a great influence on the youth of the decade.
6. - In the 1970s, the hippie, mod and rocker
subcultures were in a process of transformation.
- The skinhead subculture from the late 1960s
continued into the 1970s, and some skinheads
became influenced by the punk subculture.
- Disco, which had begun in gay dance clubs,
became a significant from about 1975 onward.
- Mods made a comeback in the late 1970s as a
post-punk mod revival, inspired by The Jam
and the British film Quadrophenia.
7. In the early 1970s music was distributed on lightweight flexible vinyl due
to the mean of cutting manufacturing cost. The music would either be on
a 7inch 10 inch 12inch. To use a vinyl people would have to a lot have
record player to play the vinyl's on.
Between the early 1970s and the early
2000s, the cassette was one of the most
common formats for distributing music. Tap

recording and playback. This was very
popular because it was a to quality tape
with a 60-minute playing time.
