Online Marketing and Brand presence - The big picture. Organic and Paid search elements broken down into their presence, search, conversion and loyalty components.
The SEO game has undergone dramatic change in the last 12 months, if you need to get your mind straight about what SEO is about and how to do it right, this is for you.
This is a true SEO 101 session.
Fail at Scale: Large Enterprises and the Challenges of In-House SEOKeith Goode
Given at Pubcon Virtual 2020 on Thursday, October 15th by Keith Goode, Sr. SEO Strategist at IBM.
Whether the culmination of several big changes on your site results in a massive loss of link equity or one small change breaks your canonical tagging, working on a large enterprise site has its share of dangers and pitfalls. With 20,000 hands in the mix, whether coding or writing content, each one can be a single point of failure or be part of "death by 1,000 cuts."
In this session, Keith Goode will go through examples of site failures that have rocked large sites, how they were diagnosed and the fixes put in place to repair the damage. He'll also cover how you can monitor for small and large changes alike and treat them before they impact the site negatively.
Lastly, he'll walk through his revised position on democratization and how he's modified his training to be more relevant to the disciplines of his students.
Ranking highly in search engines is critical for generating real estate leads online. But what's the right formula? How can individual agents, teams, and brokers compete against the large listing portals?
It's actually easier than you think! You simply have to follow some really simple steps and form a good habit of creating valuable content for your clients.

involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions

19. Domain Extensions Impact SEO
NO… except for country codes. Country code domains will not rank
as well in other countries. For instance, a career related .us site will
not rank as highly in other countries as a career related .com site.

21. More About RSS
Really Simple Syndication
• RSS feeds on a career site enables job seekers to
stay informed of company job openings.
• Job feeds distribution automated to social networks
• Feed headline important on social distribution
because of limited space.
Some providers charge for setting up job feeds, but be weary of those fees. DirectEmployers
Member companies can pull various targeted job feeds from their .JOBS microsites at no
charge.

Editor's Notes
Job seekers are different, and when hiring for a broad spectrum of employees as AT&T does, we need to ensure we reach candidates where they live, work and play. We focus on the digital universe – both online and in the mobile environment, as we know that it’s faster, more cost effective and typically provides a higher quality candidate. Offline strategies such as print, broadcast and events still have their place for certain markets and functions. Our digital strategy supported by traditional media where needed provides for a multi-faceted, robust and targeted strategy designed to reach and engage all of our target audiences. And where and how we advertise isn’t random…
There are many other factors as we’ve discussed. One thing to keep in mind is location. In my screen shot you will see in the left column that Google recognizes that I’m in Indianapolis, so chances are my results for this query may be different than someone doing the same search in Florida.

Like Google, you can see how Bing’s search results farther out have key words from our query farther left of right in most cases.
The same approach can be taken with job category, state or job title. (with title reiterate the advantage of using the keyword tool so that companies use titles job seekers are searching for vs. internal company job titles) Including keywords in the page URL can also be useful – but again be sure to leverage the keyword tool and avoid using company jargon
For example, IBM uses IBM.comfor all of their online content. However, if a candidate searches “IT sales jobs,” it is highly unlikely that Google will present IBM.comas a relevant result, especially if their jobs cannot be seen by search engines. What if IBM had a subset of its listings available on ibm-itsales.jobsthat Google could find? Not only do the most critical keywords appear right in the domain, but they are also found within the content of the pages making them easy to index and incredibly RELEVANT as a result. The objective is to not only appear in the search results, but to rank as highly as possible to be seen by job seekers who are not looking specifically for you.

.net, .info, .co, .mobi, .me.Recently, ICANN how announced the ability to apply to introduce and operate new Top-Level Domains. More info to be shared on June 13 (note this is the day before the webinar).
Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s web spam team, has said many times on his blog and elsewhere that domain extensions do not affect SEO. The reason for choosing a certain domain extension should be based on other non-SEO factors. For instance, .com sites are easier to remember because they are the standard extension. However, .org sites are sometimes viewed as being more trustworthy. Don’t base your decision when choosing your domain extension simply on some SEO misconception. Rather, focus on getting your keyword in your domain, purchase the more affordable option, or the one that you believe your visitors will trust and like most.
