The sanctuary has deep relations between Christ and the desire He has for His people especially in this end time. A serious look into the importance of studying the sanctuary and the way sanctuary terminology is woven through out the scriptures.
Clearly reveals how a knowledge of the sanctuary affects your lifestyle and the food we eat. A truly enriching and Christ centred and biblical study.
2. Says the great deceiver: “We must watch those
who are calling the attention of the people to the
Sabbath of Jehovah; they will lead many to see
the claims of the law of God; and the same
light which reveals the true Sabbath, reveals
also the ministration of Christ in the heavenly
sanctuary, and shows that the last work for
man’s salvation is now going forward. Hold the
minds of the people in darkness till that work is
ended, and we shall secure the world and the
church also. {4SP 337.2}
3. The subject of the sanctuary was the key
which unlocked the mystery of the
disappointment of 1844. It opened to view a
complete system of truth, connected and
harmonious, showing that God's hand had
directed the great advent movement and
revealing present duty as it brought to light
the position and work of His people… Light
from the sanctuary illumined the
past, the present, and the future…{GC

4. Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for
ye have taken away the key of
knowledge: ye entered not in
yourselves, and them that were
entering in ye hindered.
Based on the experiences outlined in
the gospels the lawyers were the
theology teachers of the time. The
“men of the law.”
5. As with holy boldness Paul proclaimed the
gospel in the synagogue at Thessalonica, a flood
of light was thrown upon the true meaning of
the rites and ceremonies connected with the
tabernacle service. He carried the minds of his
hearers beyond the earthly service and the
ministry of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary,
to the time when, having completed His
mediatorial work, Christ would come again in
power and great glory, and establish His
kingdom on the earth. {AA 228.3}
6. For three successive Sabbaths Paul preached
to the Thessalonians, reasoning with them from
the Scriptures regarding the life, death,
resurrection, office work, and future glory of
Christ, the "Lamb slain from the foundation of
the world." Rev 13:8. He exalted Christ, the
proper understanding of whose ministry is
the key that unlocks the Old Testament
Scriptures, giving access to their rich treasures.
{AA 229.1}
7. For the law was given by Moses,
but grace and truth came by
Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the
way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but
by me. (John 14:6)
8. Take this book of the law, and put it
in the side of the ark of the covenant of
the LORD your God, that it may be
there for a witness against thee.
(Deuteronomy 31:26)
Blotting out the handwriting of
ordinances that was against us, which
was contrary to us, and took it out of
the way, nailing it to his cross;
(Colossians 2:14 )
9. Who serve unto the example and
shadow of heavenly things, as Moses
was admonished of God when he was
about to make the tabernacle: for, See,
saith he, that thou make all things
according to the pattern shewed to
thee in the mount. (Hebrews 8:5)
10. Hebrews 8:2 A minister of the
sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle,
which the Lord pitched, and not man.

God was opened in heaven
Whither the forerunner is for us
entered, even Jesus, made an high
priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec. (Hebrews 6:20)
11. Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the
way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy
wondrous works.

sanctuary of God; then understood I their
end.

sanctuary: who is so great a God as our
God?
12.
13.
14. And let them make me a sanctuary; that I
may dwell among them. (Exodus 25:8)
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt
call his name JESUS: for he shall save his
people from their sins. Now all this was done,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of
the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth
a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God
with us. (Matthew 1:21-23)
15. What? know ye not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your
own? (1 Corinthians 6:19)
From eternal ages it was God's purpose
that every created being, from the bright
and holy seraph to man, should be a
temple for the indwelling of the Creator.
Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a
temple for God. {DA 161.1}

18. Exodus 27:1-2 And thou shalt make an
altar of shittim wood, five cubits long,

foursquare: and the height thereof shall
be three cubits. And thou shalt make the
horns of it upon the four corners
thereof: his horns shall be of the same:
and thou shalt overlay it with brass.
19.
20.
21. Hebrews 13:10-12 We have an altar, whereof
they have no right to eat which serve the
tabernacle. For the bodies of those beasts,
whose blood is brought into the sanctuary
by the high priest for sin, are burned without
the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he
might sanctify the people with his own
blood, suffered without the gate.
22. Romans 12:1 I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice,

laver between the tent of the

between the tent of the
congregation and the altar, and
put water there, to wash withal.
25.
26. 2 Chronicles 3:4 And the porch that was in
the front of the house, the length of it was
according to the breadth of the house,
twenty cubits, and the height was an
hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it
within with pure gold.
2 Chronicles 29:7 Also they have shut up the
doors of the porch, and put out the lamps,
and have not burned incense nor offered
burnt offerings in the holy place unto the
God of Israel.
27. Joel 2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of
the LORD, weep between the porch
and the altar, and let them say, Spare
thy people, O LORD, and give not
thine heritage to reproach, that the
heathen should rule over them:
wherefore should they say among the
people, Where is their God?
28.
29. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this
world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove
what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with
him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the
glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life.

by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath
set forth to be a propitiation through
faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of
sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
32. Exodus 26:33-35 And thou shalt hang up the
vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in
thither within the vail the ark of the testimony:
and the vail shall divide unto you between
the holy place and the most holy. And thou
shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the
testimony in the most holy place. And thou
shalt set the table without the vail, and the
candlestick over against the table on the side
of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou
shalt put the table on the north side.
33.
34.
35. Exodus 25:23-24 Thou shalt also make a table
of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the
length thereof, and a cubit the breadth
thereof, and a cubit and a half the height
thereof. And thou shalt overlay it with pure
gold, and make thereto a crown of gold
round about.
Exodus 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the
table shewbread before me alway.
Exodus 26:35 the table on the north side.
36. 1 Samuel 21:6 So the priest gave him
hallowed bread: for there was no
bread there but the shewbread, that
was taken from before the LORD, to
put hot bread in the day when it was
taken away.

brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites,
were over the shewbread, to prepare it
every sabbath.
Matthew 12:5 Or have ye not read in
the law, how that on the sabbath days
the priests in the temple profane the
sabbath, and are blameless?

is written, Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that
proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

from the commandment of his lips; I
have esteemed the words of his
mouth more than my necessary
food.

and I did eat them; and thy word was
unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine
heart: for I am called by thy name, O
LORD God of hosts.

41. Mark 14:22-24 And as they did eat,
Jesus took bread, and blessed, and
brake it, and gave to them, and said,
Take, eat: this is my body. And he
took the cup, and when he had given
thanks, he gave it to them: and they all
drank of it. And he said unto them,
This is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many.
42. And when he had given thanks, he
brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my
body, which is broken for you: this do
in remembrance of me. After the
same manner also he took the cup,
when he had supped, saying, This cup
is the new testament in my blood: this
do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in
remembrance of me. (1 Corinthians
11:24-25)

the midst of the throne and of the four
beasts, and in the midst of the elders,

Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive
beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to
burn always. (Exodus 27:20)
And two olive trees by it, one upon the
right side of the bowl, and the other
upon the left side thereof. This is the

unto them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have
the light of life.
48. Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of
the world. A city that is set on an hill
cannot be hid. Neither do men light a
candle, and put it under a bushel, but
on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house. Let your
light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.
49.
50. Zechariah 4:2-3 And said unto me, What seest
thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a
candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of
it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to
the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side
of the bowl, and the other upon the left side
thereof.
The Whole chapter is for deep study.

the two candlesticks standing before the God of
the earth.
51. Revelation 1:12-13 And I turned to see the
voice that spake with me. And being turned, I
saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the
midst of the seven candlesticks one like
unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment
down to the foot, and girt about the paps with
a golden girdle.
52. Exodus 40:26-27 And he
put the golden altar in

groanings which cannot be uttered.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in
tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

another angel came and
stood at the altar,
having a golden censer;
and there was given unto
him much incense, that
he should offer it with
the prayers of all saints
upon the golden altar
which was before the
throne.
56. He quickly carried me from the earth to the
Holy City. In the city I saw a temple, which
I entered. I passed through a door before I
came to the first veil. This veil was raised,
and I passed into the holy place. Here I
saw the altar of incense, the candlestick
with seven lamps, and the table on which
was the shewbread. After viewing the
glory of the holy, Jesus raised the second
veil and I passed into the holy of holies.

57. Signifies the Christian life
The process of Sanctification
Hebrews 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and
they who are sanctified are all of one: for
which cause he is not ashamed to call them
brethren,
Through reading the word, praying and
partaking of the Holy Spirit
We should also pray for others, teach the
word and live lives that reflect the light of
Christ
58. Hebrews 9:3-5 And after the second veil,
the tabernacle which is called the Holiest
of all; Which had the golden censer, and
the ark of the covenant overlaid round
about with gold, wherein was the golden
pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod
that budded, and the tables of the
covenant; And over it the cherubims of
glory shadowing the mercyseat; of
which we cannot now speak particularly.
59. Leviticus 16:12 And he shall
take a censer full of burning
coals of fire from off the altar
before the LORD, and his
hands full of sweet incense
beaten small, and bring it
within the vail: And he shall put
the incense upon the fire before
the LORD, that the cloud of the
incense may cover the mercy
seat that is upon the testimony,
that he die not:
60. Exodus 26:34 And thou shalt put the mercy
seat upon the ark of the testimony in the
most holy place.
Exodus 25:19-20 And make one cherub on the
one end, and the other cherub on the other
end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the
cherubims on the two ends thereof. And the
cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on
high, covering the mercy seat with their
wings, and their faces shall look one to another;
toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the
cherubims be.

63. Psalms 99:1 The LORD reigneth; let the
people tremble: he sitteth between the
cherubims

tables, according to the first writing, the
ten commandments, which the LORD
spake unto you in the mount out of the
midst of the fire in the day of the
assembly: and the LORD gave them unto
me. And I turned myself and came down
from the mount, and put the tables in
the ark which I had made; and there they
be, as the LORD commanded me.
65. Revelation 11:19 And the temple of
God was opened in heaven, and
there was seen in his temple the ark
of his testament: and there were
lightnings, and voices, and
thunderings, and an earthquake, and
great hail.
66. Exodus 32:15 And Moses turned, and
went down from the mount, and the
two tables of the testimony were in
his hand: the tables were written on
both their sides; on the one side and on
the other were they written.

Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna
therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to
be kept for your generations.

Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before
the testimony, to be kept for a token
against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take
away their murmurings from me, that they
die not.
68. In the holiest I saw an ark; on the top
and sides of it was purest gold. On each
end of the ark was a lovely cherub,
with its wings spread out over it. Their
faces were turned toward each other, and
they looked downward. Between the
angels was a golden censer. Above the
ark, where the angels stood, was an
exceeding bright glory, that appeared
like a throne where God dwelt. {EW
32.3}
69. Jesus stood by the ark, and as the saints’
prayers came up to Him, the incense in
the censer would smoke, and He would
offer up their prayers with the smoke of
the incense to His Father. In the ark was
the golden pot of manna, Aaron’s rod
that budded, and the tables of stone
which folded together like a book. {EW
32.3}
70. Exodus 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw
it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they
wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them,
This is the bread which the LORD hath given you
to eat.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life. Your fathers did
eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is

God was trying to teach in the provision of
manna

whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I
will make to cease from me the murmurings
of the children of Israel, whereby they
murmur against you. (Numbers 17:5)
(For those priests were made without an oath;
but this with an oath by him that said unto
him, The Lord sware and will not repent,
Thou art a priest for ever after the order of
Melchisedec:) By so much was Jesus made a
surety of a better testament. (Hebrews 7:21)
73. Numbers 17:8 And it came to pass, that on
the morrow Moses went into the
tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod
of Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and
bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The seed of the almond is one of the most
potent nuts. The fleshy outer coat can be
eaten as fruit. Both can be eaten raw.
74. Deuteronomy 30:10 If thou shalt hearken unto
the voice of the LORD thy God,
, and if thou
turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine

from the mount, that Moses wist not
that the skin of his face shone while he
talked with him.
83. Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured
before them: and his face did shine as

might, according to his glorious
power, unto all patience and

the day is at hand: let us therefore cast
off the works of darkness, and let us
put on the armour of light.

cover the earth, and gross darkness the
people: but the LORD shall arise upon

earth shall be filled with the glory of the
LORD.

having great power; and the earth was
lightened with his glory.
88. I looked upon the company, who, a
short time before, were in such distress
and bondage. Their captivity was turned.
A glorious light shone upon them. How
beautiful they then looked! All marks of
care and weariness were gone, and health
and beauty were seen in every
countenance. {EW 272.3}
89. Their enemies, the heathen around them,
fell like dead men; they could not endure
the light that shone upon the delivered,
holy ones. This light and glory remained
upon them, until Jesus was seen in the
clouds of heaven, and the faithful, tried
company were changed in a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, from glory to
glory. {EW 272.3}
90. Ever before Him, Christ saw the result of
His mission. His earthly life, so full of toil
and self-sacrifice, was cheered by the
thought that He would not have all this
travail for nought. By giving His life for
the life of men, He would restore in
humanity the image of God. He would
lift us up from the dust, reshape the
character after the pattern of His own
character, and make it beautiful with His
own glory. {MH 504.2}

The book of the law was written by Moses as guide to the way of life that the Israelites were to live so as to maintain a separate culture and lifestyle in the midst of the surrounding nations. If these instructions had been faithfully followed there would have been not a single weak man among the Israelites.
