My magazine making skills have greatly improved since my preliminary task due to researching existing magazines, analyzing their conventions and styles, and gaining a better understanding of my target audience's interests. Feedback from my target audience has also helped guide decisions about the magazine's title, style, and content, which has strengthened my production abilities compared to assuming what readers would like without any feedback.

2. Looking back at my preliminary task , it is clear to see that I have made a massive
improvement when it comes to my magazine making skills. My use of technology has
great advanced my skills and has helped to improve my production.This is due to a
number of reasons.

3. Firstly, the research and planning into existing magazines. I have analysed a lot of
current and popular alternative rock magazines in the last year. I know the
conventions, house styles and typical ideologies that go along with a certain genre. It
has also helped to improve my writing skills as I now know a lot of key terminology.
During my preliminary task I didn’t know what my main audience wanted and what
they expected to see.

4. Secondly, the feedback I have received has been also helped me to develop and improve
my production skills. My target audience have shown me what they want in a magazine
and my questionnaires have helped to guide my decisions, ofr example the title, the
house style and the content. In my preliminary task I did not have this sought of
information and had to assume that the person reading my magazine would like what I
had done. I didn’t have any feedback so I had to assume that my magazine was
acceptable.
