   Problems
   Solutions
 Today, the ecological situation in the world can
    be described as close to critical. Among the
    global environmental problems are the
    following:
 - Thousand of species of plants and animals are
    destroyed or disposed of;
   - The forest cover is largely destroyed;
 - A rapidly shrinking supply of available
    mineral resources
 - The world's oceans is not only depleted by the
    destruction of living organisms. But ceases to
    be a regulator of natural processes;
 - The atmosphere in many places, polluted to
    the maximum allowable size, and clean air is a
    deficit;
 - Partially disrupted the Ozone Layer to protect
    against harmful to all living space radiation
 - Pollution of surface and disfigurement of
    landscapes: the Earth is impossible to find a
    single square meter of surface, where there
    were not artificially created by man elements.
 What measures are needed to address global environmental
    problems! First of all, we should move from a consumer-
    technocratic approach to nature to seek harmony with it. For this
    purpose, in particular, requires a series of targeted measures for
    cleaner production: Nature-technology, mandatory environmental
    impact assessment of new projects, creating a closed loop waste
    technologies.
 Another measure aimed at improving relations between man and
    nature, is a reasonable self-restraint in the expenditure of natural
    resources - especially energy resources (oil, coal), which have for
    human life essential. Calculations of international experts suggest
    that if we start from the current level of consumption (at the end
    of XX century.), the coal reserves will last another 430 years, oil -
    for 35 years, natural gas - for 50 years. Time, especially oil
    reserves, is not so great. In this regard, take reasonable and
    necessary structural changes in world energy towards expanding
    the use of nuclear energy, as well as search for new, effective, safe
    and friendly nature of most energy sources, including space.
 However, the tangible effect all of these and
    other measures may give only by joint efforts
    of all countries in order to save nature. The first
    attempt at such an international association
    was made in the early XX century. Then in
    November 1913 Switzerland hosted the first
    international meeting on environmental issues
    with representatives from 18 major countries in
    the world.
 Now the interstate cooperation forms a qualitatively
    new level. There are international conventions on
    environmental protection (quotas on catches of fish, the
    ban on whaling, etc.), performing a range of joint
    development and programs. The activity of public
    organizations for the protection of the environment -
    "green" (Greenpeace). Environment International
    Green Cross and Green Crescent is currently
    developing a program to address the problem of
    "ozone holes in Earth's atmosphere. However, it should
    be recognized that at very different levels of socio-
    political development of the world's international
    cooperation in the environmental field is still very far
    from its perfection.
