Production Reflection

Process
• This is my programme front cover, it is a
simple design as I wanted to advertise all
the activities inside rather than on the
front cover. I wanted to follow the theme
of the images separated by the metal like
bar that I had copied from my poster and
angled it a different way so that it went
with the image separation. I went with
this design as I felt my audience would be
able to notice the pattern of images and
be able to recognise that it is a
programme for the event. Instead of
using a drop shadow behind the lettering
I decided to write the same words in the
same font size but put it just next to the
words so that it gave a shadow effect to
it. I decided to go with this method as I
found it was easier to get all the different
shadows the same lengths as I would
move the black lettering 2 clicks to the
right and one click down so that it gave
the shadow effect.
Pg 1
Process
This is my about page, I left this quite basic as I felt
that this page should be only information on the
text as It to inform people about the event and get
them excited for it as they will think they have a
chance to get to the finals and possibly win some
prizes. I had the sub heading saying ‘welcome to
the UK’s biggest competitive gaming event round’
this would grab peoples attention as the first thing
the see is that it is the best around. This will
interest people in the gaming community as there
will be a lot of people going and they will want to
be the best around. I mentioned in the text about
the Q&A’s as people will want to see their favorite
streamers so that they can ask them questions
they’ve always wanted. This will make people want
to come as they could only get a few chance to
meet their hero’s. I used the InDesign to make this
page as it is easier to a line the text and make sure
that there is nothing out of place. InDesign was
useful to make columns for the text as I could link
the different columns together so that the text
wasn’t lost by not having enough room on the
page.
Pg 2
Process
• This is my map and schedule from the programme. i thought
that this page would be useful to my audience as it has a
timed schedule for all the events that are happening. I decided
to make the names of the events red as I felt that would make
them stand out more for my audience which would make it
easier as they could read just the red text to find the event
they would like to go and then read underneath to find out
what time it is it. This would make the programme more user
friendly which would give the event a more relax environment
as there would not be people rushing around trying to get to
the events quickly as they cannot read the programme
schedule easily. I used the image from the O2 arena and went
over it with blue rectangles so that I had a solid colours rather
than boxes looking a little pale. I made the announcement
stage at the other side of the entrance as it is the main
attraction, this meant that everyone would have to go all the
way through the event to get to the main stage letting them
see all the other attractions first. This meant that there would
be an even spread of people around the whole event and not
just the main attraction. I decided on the technique of having
the the words behind the other words again as it is not an
option of making a drop shadow on the software InDesign. I
put in the contacts at the bottom of the page as they're not
something that will get people to wanted to attend but are
important to the customers, I put them at the bottom of the
page as they're not advertisement points and would not help
the sale of tickets.
Pg 3
Process
This is my third page of my E-booklet. I thought that this page
was to a good standard but could have been improved with more
time. I managed to get a photo of my friends playing games on
the computer which would give my audience an idea of how the
games were set up. I mentioned in the text that the equipment
was the latest and best around which would make people curious
as to what equipment is available to them and possibly purchase
some this would make more people want to attend the event.
The character that has a question mark over the top is used to
grab the attention of the customer so that they notice the text
about the surprise quest as this is a good marketing point to
make people want to attend. I managed the get a Lego character
off the internet then change the opacity to 71% where I could use
the polygon lasso tool to cut the part of the character off which is
didn’t need. The polygon lasso tool allowed me to cut out round
the circle so the part of the character wasn't missing leaving dark
grey under the circle. Once I had done that I used the paint filler
tool to go over the Lego character making him fully grey so that
you couldn’t identify who he was and put a question mark over
him to get people to think who is that and read the text next to it
to see if they can find out who they are. The text in the bottom
left corner has been changed to white as it is a list of what games
are available to the customer this makes the text easier to read
for the customer as they can see that all the white text is what
games, this helps people skim read and not miss out on text that
could persuade them to go the event.
Pg 4
Process
This is the back page of my programme. I went
with the same effect as the front cover with the
metal like bar separating people as I feel it looks
professional to have the front page linked in the
back page as if it was like an actual book. I left
this page blank as I feel it is not necessary to have
any information on the back as all the
information is in the booklet. When creating the
divide in the images I put the first image in and
used the polygon lasso tool to cut straight lines of
the first images then lay the second image over
the top leaving the part of the image I want in the
empty space then use the polygon lasso tool
again to cut out the exact line that the metal bar
see will go over leaving a little bit of the image
under the metal to eliminate any empty spaces
that may occur if I try fit the metal bar perfectly
(see Pg. 6 to see how I made the metal like
effect). I added in the rocket league logo on to
the back of the programme as well as it is harder
for people to recognize the cars as they’re not as
distinctive as normal characters from more
popular games.
Pg 5
Process
• This is my poster design. I was very
pleased with how my poster turned out
as I thought it was very athletically
pleasing. I chose to advertise all the
biggest games as I felt that it would
appeal to my audience the most as there
would be more people interested in the
attending the event if their favourite
games were the main attraction as
they're belongers they will want to be
part of the small community that also like
the same games as them. I made the
metal like bars by getting a light grey box
and placing it over the lines of the
separated pictures. Once I had done that
I made a thin dark grey line down the
inside of the light grey box. After that I
got the blurring tool and blurred the dark
grey line into the light grey box to give it
a metal like effect. I used a radial gradient
fade for the background behind the text
as I thought it looked nicer than one solid
colour and fit the colour theme linking
with the other products.
Pg 6
Process
• This is my logo design. I went for a simple
design as it is easy to remember and
recognise what the logo is for. I used
rounded rectangles to make my logo as I
wanted to make it from scratch so that it
was original. This helped to to show the
audience that the event has a lot of detail
put into and that it has originality. I chose
a dark blue colour as I think it would be
best on lighter background and be easily
visible when on a product. I left white
lines between the different blue squares
as it gives the outline of the controller to
the audience and also adds colour
variation to the logo. I wrote the title
playercon on the logo in the font that is
on the other products so that it was more
recognizable. I chose quite a dull colour
for the logo as I didn’t want to take all the
attention away from the products. That
why I chose to head the controller head
dark blue as well as I wanted it to be a
subtle reminder of the event.
Pg 7
Process
This is my ticket design for the event. I chose to
split the ticket in to two sections I used the pen
tool to make a smooth line for the split. I used
the pen tool as the free hand pencil tool
wouldn’t have been able to make such a smooth
line which would have made it look
unprofessional. The big barcode fills the empty
space nicely and is a necessity for the ticket. I
used the magic wand tool to make sure there
was none of the original back ground attached to
the car as it would not have given the effect of
the car flying in from the bottom corner. The two
lines above and below the ticket design are to
raise attention to the weekend title and as the
weekend title is in the font ’battleground’ it
stands out more as it is thick and bold. I used the
colours purple and green as it fits the colour
theme to the event. I had the title of the event in
the top corner so it stands out and people know
what the ticket is for. The logo for the event is
above the weekend title as people will be looking
at the text and be forced to see the logo which
would help people remember it.

I decided to make the names of the events red as I felt that would make them stand out more for my audience which would make it easier as they could read just the red text to find the event they would like to go and then read underneath to find out what time it is it. This meant that there would be an even spread of people around the whole event and not just the main attraction. I decided on the technique of having the the words behind the other words again as it is not an option of making a drop shadow on the software InDesign. I put in the contacts at the bottom of the page as they're not something that will get people to wanted to attend but are important to the customers, I put them at the bottom of the page as they're not advertisement points and would not help the sale of tickets. • 5. Process This is my third page of my E-booklet. I thought that this page was to a good standard but could have been improved with more time. I managed to get a photo of my friends playing games on the computer which would give my audience an idea of how the games were set up. I mentioned in the text that the equipment was the latest and best around which would make people curious as to what equipment is available to them and possibly purchase some this would make more people want to attend the event. The character that has a question mark over the top is used to grab the attention of the customer so that they notice the text about the surprise quest as this is a good marketing point to make people want to attend. I managed the get a Lego character off the internet then change the opacity to 71% where I could use the polygon lasso tool to cut the part of the character off which is didn’t need. The polygon lasso tool allowed me to cut out round the circle so the part of the character wasn't missing leaving dark grey under the circle. Once I had done that I used the paint filler tool to go over the Lego character making him fully grey so that you couldn’t identify who he was and put a question mark over him to get people to think who is that and read the text next to it to see if they can find out who they are. The text in the bottom left corner has been changed to white as it is a list of what games are available to the customer this makes the text easier to read for the customer as they can see that all the white text is what games, this helps people skim read and not miss out on text that could persuade them to go the event. • 6. Process This is the back page of my programme. I went with the same effect as the front cover with the metal like bar separating people as I feel it looks professional to have the front page linked in the back page as if it was like an actual book. I left this page blank as I feel it is not necessary to have any information on the back as all the information is in the booklet. When creating the divide in the images I put the first image in and used the polygon lasso tool to cut straight lines of the first images then lay the second image over the top leaving the part of the image I want in the empty space then use the polygon lasso tool again to cut out the exact line that the metal bar see will go over leaving a little bit of the image under the metal to eliminate any empty spaces that may occur if I try fit the metal bar perfectly (see Pg. 6 to see how I made the metal like effect). I added in the rocket league logo on to the back of the programme as well as it is harder for people to recognize the cars as they’re not as distinctive as normal characters from more popular games. • 7. Process • This is my poster design. I was very pleased with how my poster turned out as I thought it was very athletically pleasing. I chose to advertise all the biggest games as I felt that it would appeal to my audience the most as there would be more people interested in the attending the event if their favourite games were the main attraction as they're belongers they will want to be part of the small community that also like the same games as them. I made the metal like bars by getting a light grey box and placing it over the lines of the separated pictures. Once I had done that I made a thin dark grey line down the inside of the light grey box. After that I got the blurring tool and blurred the dark grey line into the light grey box to give it a metal like effect. I used a radial gradient fade for the background behind the text as I thought it looked nicer than one solid colour and fit the colour theme linking with the other products. Pg 6
  • 8. Process • This is my logo design. I went for a simple design as it is easy to remember and recognise what the logo is for. I used rounded rectangles to make my logo as I wanted to make it from scratch so that it was original. This helped to to show the audience that the event has a lot of detail put into and that it has originality. I chose a dark blue colour as I think it would be best on lighter background and be easily visible when on a product. I left white lines between the different blue squares as it gives the outline of the controller to the audience and also adds colour variation to the logo. I wrote the title playercon on the logo in the font that is on the other products so that it was more recognizable. I chose quite a dull colour for the logo as I didn’t want to take all the attention away from the products. That why I chose to head the controller head dark blue as well as I wanted it to be a subtle reminder of the event. Pg 7
  • 9. Process This is my ticket design for the event. I chose to split the ticket in to two sections I used the pen tool to make a smooth line for the split. I used the pen tool as the free hand pencil tool wouldn’t have been able to make such a smooth line which would have made it look unprofessional. The big barcode fills the empty space nicely and is a necessity for the ticket. I used the magic wand tool to make sure there was none of the original back ground attached to the car as it would not have given the effect of the car flying in from the bottom corner. The two lines above and below the ticket design are to raise attention to the weekend title and as the weekend title is in the font ’battleground’ it stands out more as it is thick and bold. I used the colours purple and green as it fits the colour theme to the event. I had the title of the event in the top corner so it stands out and people know what the ticket is for. The logo for the event is above the weekend title as people will be looking at the text and be forced to see the logo which would help people remember it. Pg 8
