Teacher Student
Prayer
Class, please stand up and let us pray.
Greetings
Good morning class!
( the students will pray)
Good morning Sir!
Classroom Conditioning
Kindly arrange your chairs and pick up
those pieces of paper around you.
Okay, please be seated.
Checking of Attendance
Danica, is there any absent for today?
Very good!
Checking of Assignment
Did I give you any assignment
yesterday?
Exchange your paper to your seatmate.
Thank you Sir.
None
Yes
B. Recall
Teacher Student
The left side is group one while the right
side is group 2.
Were going to perform an activity an
titled ”Paramihan tayo Bes”.
You need to write what you learned last
meeting about the possible effects of
convergent plate boundaries.
I give to you two minutes to write. If the
time is elapse , I will cancel out the same
answer to each group. And your remaining
answer is your total score and it will be
added to your recitation.
Ready Start Now!
Time is up!
Let’s proceed now.
C. Motivation
Teacher Student
I think all you need is to exercise .
Please all stand. Watch the video clip and
you will dance.
Let’s move your body!
Very enjoyable dance. I hope you want it.
Please settle down now.
(students will dance)
Very exciting Sir.
D. Procedure
Teacher Student
After learning the effects of convergent
plate boundaries on the Earth’s
lithosphere, it’s time for us to move on to
the next type of plate boundary: the
divergent plate boundary.
In a convergent plate boundary, the
leading plates undergo destruction
process as the crust is consumed in the
mantle. But what do you think is
happening on the other end of each
plates? (creation of new crust)
To find out the answer to this question,
you will study next type of plate
boundary-the Divergent plate boundary.
To cope-up our lesson for today, lets
proceed to the activity 4.
E. Pre- Activity
Teacher Student
For your grouping, I have here a three
characteristics of person such as Lovable,
Jowable and Stable. I will paste it on the
wall, and for those first group got 10
members will say aloud “I’m (what
characteristic you choose) “ and you will
get 3 points in this activity.
The activity an titled “Going Separate
Ways”.
Everybody, please read the objectives,
materials and procedure.
Instruction:
1. Get one manila paper and pentel
pen for your activity.
Objectives:
• Explain the processes that occur
along divergent boundaries.
• Determine the results of plates
that are moving apart.
Materials:
photographs of Rift Valleys and Oceanic
Ridges
Procedure:
1. Analyze the photographs of rift
valleys (topmost pictures) and oceanic
ridges below, and answer the questions
that follow.
2. Cooperate and collaborate with
your groupmates.
3. Your time is 10 minutes to study,
to analyze and to answer the guide
questions.
4. Choose two to three presenter of
your activity.
5. Your score for this activity is
based on rubrix.
Let’s start begin!
F. Post Activity
Teacher Student
Time is up!
Please, paste your activity works on the
board.
Give yourself “Pot Pot Clap”
Let’s start group 1.
I want to hear the next group, group 2.
Present your work group 3.
(The teacher will add information while
the presenters presents their works.)
Formation of rift valleys and oceanic
ridges are indications that the crust is
spreading or splitting apart.
In this case, the plates are forming
divergent plate boundaries wherein they
tend to move apart.
Most divergent boundaries are situated
along underwater mountain ranges called
oceanic ridges
Key concepts:
1. Divergent boundaries occur along
spreading centers where plates are
moving apart and new crust is created by
magma pushing up from the mantle.
2. Effects that are found at a divergent
boundary between oceanic plates include:
a submarine mountain range such as the
Mid-Atlantic Ridge; volcanic activity in
the form of fissure eruptions; shallow
earthquake activity; creation of new
seafloor; and awidening ocean basin.
(The presenter presents their works and
asnwer the quide questions )
3. If a divergent boundary is between
continental plates, the effects are: rift
valley formation which will soon develop
into linear sea; shallow earthquake
activities, and numerous normal faults.
G. Generalization
Teacher Student
For the generalized the topic for today,
Divergent boundaries occur in what
movement and what is created?
What are the possible effects of divergent
boundary?

H. Valuing/ Application
Teacher Student
Importance, why need to discuss? Because for the preparedness and
awareness during earthquakes, tsunamis,
and volcanic eruption.
IV. Evaluation
Create a song by group about the topic for today. The time is maximum to 3-4
minutes. Your score is based on rubrics.
V. Assignment
1. Explain the processes that occur along transform boundaries and determine
the results of plates that are moving apart.
2. Bring the following materials tomorrow:
 four blocks of wood:
1 and 4 measures 5 cm x 5 cm x 10 cm while
2 and 3 measures 5 cm x 5 cm x 15 cm
 two hook screws
 sandpaper
