This document describes Experiment 5 which tests 10 unknown solutions using precipitation reactions. Students will observe any solids formed and use these results along with solubility rules to identify each of the 10 solutions. The procedure instructs students to test each combination of solutions systematically and keep their lab organized. Tips are provided on washing equipment, handling odors, and making an organized data table and worksheet to document their results and identify each of the solutions based on at least two pieces of evidence from their experiments.
