Bodily Capital Plus sized women were less likely to receive a full business suit, and the larger the

JP Morgan Chase Catastrophe
In the year of 2007, the Great Recession began. It all started at the bustling Wall Street. It was a
pandemic that brought dilemma to the businesses, to the employees and to the elated new home
owners. JP Morgan Chase was one of the major banks participated in falsifying the mortgage loans,
and they suffered consequences for what they did. The mortgage loans gave temporary joy but
longtime misery to home buyers. The federal government filed a lawsuit, and it reached a settlement.
The tragedy resulted to Global and Financial reforms. The mortgage loans were used in risky
businesses. Back in 2008, James Dimon, the head of JPMorgan Chase, disclosed mortgage
underwriting was terrible. Mortgage loans are assets that were exploited to make up collateralized debt
obligations. They were also destructively utilized in investing of the banks. The mortgages seemed
improved, and they were swiftly sold because the bank attuned the critical assessments when an
outside analysis exposed intense defects with thousands of home loans. In consequence, millions of
Americans were unable to put their homes on market because they had lost so much worth as the
housing market dropped. Gretchen Morgenson, writer from NY Times, dubbed the loans as poisonous.
Due to the bank malpractices, they faced criticisms. From 2005 to 2008, the bank confessed to a
statement of facts that figured how it crashed to totally unveil the hazards of buying uncertain
mortgage securities. In March 2013,

Freedom And African American History Essay
Freedom And African American History 1 XIN LI The United States is a immigrant country, which
faces varieties of problems. The African American problem is one of the most serious one. Racial
segregation is a deep rooted social problem, which reflects in every field in the United States. For
example, education, labor market and criminal justice system. In the aspect of education, most of
black children were not permitted to enter the school, because the white children studied there. In the
aspect of labor market, the black people s average wages were lower than the whites. They did the
manual work. In the aspect of criminal justice system, the blacks were easily in jail. Badly, their
sentences were also more serious than the whites. In general, the blacks live in the bottom of the
American society. Martin Luther King delivered the famous speech I Have a Dream, I have a dream
that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of
their skin but by the content of their character. (1) However, it was difficult for African American to
get the freedom. The 1776 Declaration of Independence announced that everyone are equal and
freedom. But black slavery still occurred in the southern states of America. Then the Civil War broke
out, African American kept struggling for land and political rights.

U.s. Democracy And Canadian Democracy
In the contemporary world, democracy is one of the most progressive system of government that
states freedom as a core value. Democracy is based on the free expression of people s opinions, points
of view as well as their opposition to the government actions. Citizens have a great control over the
political events taking place in their country because through the elections they can select the right
candidate who will be able to represent their interests. Core values of the democracy such as freedom,
equality, pursuit of happiness are similar in different countries. However, the implementation of
democracies may vary. USA and Canada are two big and prosperous countries that can be a prime
example of how democracies may vary despite all the similarities. There are three major differences
between US democracy and Canadian democracy such as consensus or in other words substantive
goals of political actions, checks and balances or how do different branches of government work, and
the last but not least federalism in regards to the division of power between federal government and
territorial entities. The first and the most important difference between US and Canadian democracy is
consensus. The initial word consensus means general agreement. In terms of politics, consensus
means an agreement on the substantive goals of the country or in other words political program that
includes an implementation plan of the alternative solutions to the country s problems or threats.

Tornado Research
Introduction
Predicting tornado activity can be one of the most challenging aspects of Meteorology. Tornados can
form in less than 10 seconds, providing little to no warning of the potential devastating destruction
they leave behind. With advancements in technology being more aware of the formation of tornados
would appear to be a natural outcome. Research indicates, that the advancement in predicting tornados
is closely related to understanding better why early predictions are challenging.
Reasons for Predicting Tornados

Fawbush and Captain R.C. Miller of Tinker Air Force base predicted that a tornado would hit the area

tornado on March 20, along with reviewing recent tornado research they predicted the March 25th
tornado. After public outcry for local predictions the U.S Weather Bureau removed the ban on tornado
warning in 1950 (Coleman, 2011). These evolving predictions have led to the warning systems and
processes used to predict tornadic weather to prevent loss of life and potential destruction through
tornado warnings. The evolution of predictions has had an impact on the decimation of the warnings

Research Paper On Blood Doping
Would you manipulate your blood by doping if it could increase your athletic performance? There are
numerous stimulants to increase athletic performance such as caffeine, pre workout supplements,
steroid use but most of these drugs are rudimentary dietary supplements. Your cardiac output and
stroke volume are what you re born with and basically impossible to manipulate to higher values.
However, variables such as blood volume and hemoglobin concentration can be manipulated. One of
the most unique methods to increase your athletic performance is blood doping. Defined by the World
Anti Doping Agency (WADA), blood doping is the use of products that uptake, transport, or delivery

idea of being able to manipulate your cardiac output and blood volume using an injection of
something your body produces or your own actual blood and actually executing it in this lifetime is
truly profound. With further research and technology, I believe we could take the foundation of blood
doping and find a way to regulate our red blood cells for life. This would give athletes an untraceable

Tv s Influence On African American Culture
The influence of television in regards to race relations in society has always been very real and
powerful. Throughout the 1950 s to the 1980 s, the television shows in America depicted the African
American experience in unique and different ways that were either a step forward, or two steps
backwards in the fight for equality. First of all, the show Amos n Andy, was a very conflicting show to
people in America because it was funny and well written, but every black character on the show was
either a clown or a crook. What this means is that millions of white Americans around the country
were watching this show whenever it was on and all they saw on the TV was black people being
clowns (acting stupid) or crooks (stealing or getting in trouble). ... Show more content on

The most popular TV shows were able to completely sway the minds of people on a certain social
topic, and they had the ability to either accurately or inaccurately depict the black culture. A lot of the
time it depended on if they wanted to get a bunch of ratings and money, or if the show wanted to make
a major impact on society. The shows that just wanted money didn t actually display the real life
scenarios that blacks went through living in the hood with absolutely no money and being treated
poorly. This is because it made the white people look like the bad guys and why would any of them
come back consistently to watch a show that made them feel guilty? The shows that just wanted to
make a point to society were the ones that got canceled quickly but made the biggest impact. Shows
like East Side West Side, Roots, All in the Family. All of these shows were unique in their ability to
actually succeed in both goals. They were able to bring in big ratings every single time it was played,
but they were also able to make some people stop and reconsider the morals and understandings of
society in America at the time. I think that without shows such as the previous ones mentioned, the
civil rights movement may have been different. Obviously the movement could still have been done
successfully without the influence of television, but

The First World War And The Reconstruction Of Britain
This essay will explain why Brutalism became one of the 20th Century s most controversial
architectural movements and help explain what influenced the development of the style. Firstly by
explaining and describing the characteristics of brutalist structures and discussing the most
monumental brutalist buildings during the 1950s and 1960s. By exploring historical and contextual
factors, this essay will discuss what technological advancements occurred and contributed towards the
birth of Brutalism. Within this essay there will be discussion about the way the Second World War and
the reconstruction of Britain changed the direction of British architecture and which architects were
most influential in this redevelopment process. Furthermore, it will explore the Modernist movement
by evaluating key historical information which contributed to the progression of a new, mid century
style. Brutalism, a disputed architectural movement which developed during the 1950s and 1960s
when there was a significant change in direction for British architecture. Brutalism descended from
the Modernist architectural movement of the early 20th Century and was a mid century reaction by the
younger generation to the lightness of 1940 s architecture. Brutalism represents an aesthetic that is
rational, stripped of ornamentation and predominantly utalised unfinished concrete or rough stone.
Initiated originally by Le Corbusier whose architecture was the brutal reaction to the machine mass

Covidien is one of the many companies that are a division of Medtronic that will help to increase the

Nathaniel Hawthorne The Effects Of Sin In Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author of The Scarlet Letter, focuses the majority of the book on sin and the
effects of sin on the protagonist s daily lives throughout the book. This standard essentially goes with
the Puritan ideals with punishment. The main protagonist, Hester Prynne, is the primary target for
these harsh effects. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the novel The Scarlet Letter to appeal to the Puritanical

Ideal happiness within a society varies greatly depending on the time period and trends that are found
influential at the time. During the time the novel, Brave New World, was published many of the
current trends include newly advanced scientific research that Aldous Huxley heavily used throughout
the novel; Huxley is a humanist horrified by the theories and accomplishments of extremists of his
own time, but in the novel by using contrasting points of view, he makes no explicit statement of his
own position ( Brad Congdon). By putting a vial twist on the current discoveries in his own time,

The Brave New World creates a community that has no reason to ever doubt the purpose of any of the
caste or people in power, ...Each of these events are designed to evoke a sense of loyalty towards the
caste to which the citizen belongs and to the greater society (Huxley 33). By eliminating the curiosity
of each individual s purpose within their life, the people in power succeeded in creating their
uneventful Brave New World. The loyal community is built by the scientific production of the babies,
as the babies have no parents, so all they have is each other. This also comes with the nurses drilling in

forcing all caste to think they are better than the other, they remove jealousy and enforce a strong,
loyal bond to be a part of each caste. However, the Director did not only build loyalty within the caste,
but loyalty to the government. This allows a functional community to be present within Brave New

On page 3, the images displays four kids on the floor playing with some chickens. Since the book is
written by Anh Do in first person, we first assume that one of the 4 children in the picture is him.
Again to reinforce that assumption, the image is in sepia tone referring to the past. Something that is
different in the picture, is that it s drawn more cartoon like rather than a realistic form. The cartoon
form is a symbolism of childhood; Anh Do s childhood. The facial expression on the children look
happy. They seem like they were having fun playing with the chicken. Returning back to the two

Large scale props were made with lightweight material to show the comparison between the human

A Summary Of Homer sThe Odyssey And The Holy Bible
Homer s The Odyssey and The Holy Bible are writings from the ancient civilizations. The proximity
regarding similar narratives between the two publications has produced curiosity in inquiring minds.
Interchangeable associations of both texts have prompted an investigation to explain why this literary
phenomenon has occurred.
In ancient Greece, Greek mythology began to emerge. Mythical narratives began to erupt for the
purpose of giving an explanation to certain social, religious, and environmental phenomena. Greek
chronicles included the gods/goddesses, heroes, and non human creatures.
Unlike Mythology, The Bible s narratives are actual events that took place dating back to the
beginning of time. The conception of The Holy Bible s compilation started thousands of years ago in
the land of Egypt. Initially, The Old Testament Scriptures were written in the Hebrew language,
however, they were later translated to the Greek. At the onset of The New Testament writings, they
were originally recorded in the Greek language. Forty men transcribed the voice of God which
resulted in sixty six books of The Holy Bible. The Holy Scriptures explained the creations, formation
of the world, God, God s chosen peoples, sin, and the plan of salvation as well.
Homer s The Odyssey, is an epic poem of mythology which includes twenty four books. The ancient
writings focused its topics of discussions on the Trojan War, a hero named Odysseus, and the
challenges he faced throughout his journey home.

Senator Felix Grundy Of Kentucky
Senator Felix Grundy of Kentucky urged for war in his appeal to the Speaker in 1811 because he
believed that the British were infringing on the maritime rights of Americans, suddenly and without
reason. He believed it was a violation of personal liberty that the government should not stand for. On
the opposition, Senator John Randolph of Virginia opposed the war and he did not believe Grundy s
appeal. In his appeal to the Speaker in 1811, he said that the war was not for maritime rights, but for
greed. He believed those in favor of the war saw land they could win from the war and wanted to
claim it as their own. He states in his speech that he did not hear a call for rights, but a chant for
Canadian lands. In the chance that I had been a part of the decision of going to war with Britain, I
would have supported the war. Although nobody doubted British actions against American shipping as
crimes, the motives of the War Hawks were continually questioned. The War Hawks are a group of
young congressmen that were the new generation of political leaders. They are ardent nationalists that
called for war with Britain. They spoke of defending honor against British insults and in support of the
annexation of Canada and the conquest of Florida, which is owned by the British ally, Spain (Foner

speech he dives right into using pathos. He reminds the country of what happened 10 years ago on
9/11 and who was responsible. This is such an effective strategy because 9/11 wasn t an event that
only affected a few people, it was a day that shocked and enraged a nation. Everyone in the nation was
affected. By bringing it back up, Obama rekindles that fire of anger, sadness, and desire for justice in
the audiences hearts. Due to this, everyone is drawn in to everything he says after. President Obama
starts his speech off with this Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the

Financial Analysis Of The Performance Of Burberry
Introduction
In this assignment, I have chosen Burberry as the company to report. Burberry is one of the global
luxury brand leader with a long history. It operates in three regions, Asia Pacific, Europe , Middle
East, India and Africa (EMEIA) and Americas. I am interested in the firm s performance in recent
years. I am going to measure and analysis the performance of the corporate through Annual report
2015/16 and 2016/17 which published on 06 06 16 and 06 06 17 respectively.
Overview
According to the financial statement, during 2015 2017, Burberry were making profit in the three year
however the firm had a drop in the net profit constantly. In 2015, the profit for the year was 341.1m, it
was down by 7.77% to 314.6m in 2016 and it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2017, the firm had a higher percentage of cost of sales in term of revenue than 2016, the cost of
sales was 30.11% which was higher than 2016 for 0.21%, that means the firm s gross margin in 2017
(69.89%) will also lower than the gross margin in 2016 for 0.21%. Burberry had a higher net
operating expenses in 2017. The net operating expenses was 55.63% which was higher than 2016 for
1.56%, that also lower the operating margin, therefore the operating margin for the firm has decreased
from 16.02% to 14.26% ( 1.76%).
The 9.9m put option liability finance income in 2016 turn to 3.2m finance charge, so the net finance
income dropped for 88.19% to 0.5m. This lead to a 5% decline in profit before tax from 415.6m to
394.8m. Moreover for the profit for the year, Burberry had a drop of 8.55% to 287.7m from 314.6m.
The trend of the firm is decreasing in related to the three financial years. The reason of the decline can
be due to the increase of the geopolitical concern in the Middle East and Russia and Uncertainty in
Eurozone. These factors have any huge negative impact on the performance of the luxury sector.

Water Coliforms Lab Report
Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to determine whether or not the samples involved in the testing
contain coliforms, and if the samples do contain coliforms are they fecal or non fecal. This also allows
us as students to understand that microbes can be in everything.
Introduction
The element of water is very essential to the human body. From basic needs of life to bathing we use
water on a daily basis. Due to the fact that we use water every day, its only important that we find out
what is in our water. Lakes, rivers, and other fresh water sources are key for drinking water and even
beneficial for the land. (Guan, et al, 2017) Even though we use these sources, they can become
contaminated with microbes. For example, animals such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coliforms are lactose fermenters so the most probable number test confirmed that the bacteria in the
water samples were lactose fermenters. When the lactose broth changed from red to yellow is
indicated that acid was produced, and when the bubble was found in the Durham tube, it indicated the
presence of gas. EMB agar was used because EMB agar is differential and a type of selective media.
EMB agar selects for gram negative bacteria and differentiates just how strong of a lactose fermenter
it is by altering the color of the colony. For example, this dictate the pink or purple color of the
culture. At this point the presence of coliforms had been confirmed and the next step was to identify
the type of coliform. This was done with the use of the IMViC test. The four sub tests within the
IMViC are indole production, Methyl red test, Voges Proskaur test, and citrate utilization. The indole
production test indicates whether or not the hydrolysis of trytophan into indole, pyruvate, and
ammonia happened. The Methyl red test indicated the Ph. In the Methyl red test if the solution turns
red, it indicates the Ph is 4.2 or lower. If the solution does not turn red it indicates that there is no
mixed acid fermentation and that butanediol was produced instead. The Voges Proskaur test is only
positive is the Methyl red test

Iodine Therapy Thyroidectomy
Iodine therapy is another option for treatment and is used in coordination with thyroidectomy to
completely ablate the thyroid gland and to postoperatively eradicate possible residual cancer (Nguyen,
et al., 2015). Iodine 131 has had a significant part in the treatment and of thyroid cancer since the mid
1940 s (Nguyen, et al., 2015). Iodine 131 works by entering the thyroid cells via the sodium iodide
transporters and emitting short wavelength beta rays, causing acute cell death (Nguyen, et al., 2015).
The use of Iodine 131 is done in two ways. When administered the first time after surgery, it is
referred to as ablation, whereas subsequent administrations for residual disease are referred to as
treatment (Nguyen, et al., 2015). Iodine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The patient had a history of thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism and abnormal TSH levels. The
technologist used Iodine 123 and administered 288 uCi. The technologist used a low energy high
resolution collimator and increased the zoom because the hospital does not have a pinhole collimator.
The patient had a thyroidectomy done in 1985. The technologist was looking for any uptake or
nodules that may be present. We didn t expect to find much uptake because the patient had already had
the thyroidectomy. What was found was surprising. The patient had their thyroid gland grow back
over time especially the right lobe. According to an article in Clinical Endocrinology thyroid tissue
being present after a thyroidectomy is not that uncommon. The study from Clinical Endocrinology
showed thyroid tissue was present in about half the patients on SPECT/CT studies (Barber, Cherk,
Toplisst, Serpell, Yap, Bailey Klaff, 2014). There was more uptake on the right gland in this case
study. Normal scans have homogeneous uptake in the entire gland and don t have cold nodule s
present. Abnormal scans can have cold nodules and uptake that is not uniform throughout the gland.
The physician noted that even though this study had more uptake in the right lobe it was due to the
gland being thicker and more of the right gland had grown

Choosing a Major Essay
Choosing a Major
Some people already know by the age of seven that they want to become a pilot or nurse; others,
however, have more difficulties deciding what to do with their future. People who decided to go to a
university or college have to make an important choice: what major are they going into? For many
people this is a very difficult question. As the statistics show, one out of five students change their
major between admission and the first day of classes. Nearly three out of four students change majors
at least twice before they graduate. And three out of four college students express uncertainly about
their major. These striking results raised some questions for me. Is it really necessary to choose a
major? What influence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can t learn much biology without learning the connections to chemistry or physics. You can t
analyze much sociological data without realizing that you need to know statistics, political structures,
historical patterns, and cultural qualities. In every field of inquiry both the methods and the content are
linked to other fields. Northrop explains. So, one of the things you learn in a major is the
interdependence of knowledge. P. Rose, director of Career Planning and Placement at the University
of Pennsylvania, agrees. She sees a major as the window you are picking from which to view the
world. Since a rigorous study in that major will lead you to related disciplines, it will also provide a
framework for investigation of disciplines far removed from the major itself. Nonetheless, Rose thinks
you need a foundation to build on first. After you achieved a significant depth of understanding in one
discipline that is your major, then you will have patterns and solutions that you could apply in a totally
different field. Thus, your major is the necessary foundation to engage in creative problem solving in
other fields.
Whatever reason you have for deciding on a major, the colleges require you to do so. What is your
intended major? is a frequently asked question on the many college application forms. But how do you
know what to choose before you get there? There may be some fields you

The Physics of Volleyball Essay
The Physics of o Volleyball
From six thirty one morning to three O clock the next morning was my longest volleyball day ever.
Fourteen and a half hours of play with only 3 breaks for food, makes for an exhausting event. So what
makes volleyball worth such a sacrifice? It is the endless possibilities and outcomes that can occur by
playing this magnificent sport and challenging the basic laws of physics. In the sport of volleyball the
same thing never happens twice. Things may seem similar but there are always slight differences. The
differences are caused by trying to manipulate those ever so important laws of physics.

This force is gravity.
Without gravity the ball would never come down. It would continue in the same direction in which the
force was implied. Projectile motion involves gravity. Gravity is what makes the ball return to the
ground.
When gravity does its thing players are able to contact the ball for the second and third times and so
forth.
The direction of the ball is very important important. At every point in the game a player wants the
ball to go in a specific direction with a precise angle. Depending on how one contacts the ball a player
can make the volleyball change direction in mid air. The most common way for this to occur is using
specific techniques when contacting the ball on a serve. One particular serve that forces the ball to
change it s direct in mid air is a floater. If a player hits the ball strait on and there is little or no spin on
the ball, it will go forward and the air resistance will cause it to suddenly move to one side or the other
or back and forth(P.11). Coach Debbie Farnsworth says, A floating serve is a wonderful weapon! It is
very hard to judge where a floater will end up.
There are many effective serves and one of the other most affective serves besides the floating serve is
the jump serve. When serving, the server wants to hit the ball as hard as possible with a small arc,
while still getting the ball

The My Lai Massacre Essay
The My Lai Massacre
My family was eating breakfast when the Americans came, nothing was said to us, no explanation was
given, This is what a man named Do Chuc reported to Time Magazine. He claimed to have lost a
daughter and a son in the incident that occured in a small village of Vietnam in 1968. The My Lai
Massacre is an event that will be forever imprinted on our hearts. The stories of those who survived,
and those who are gone. Many things have been written about My Lai, but not all of them are true. So
many things were transposed that the facts are hard to find. I feel that I have done a careful job of

The company of 60 70 US men entered My Lai and destroyed houses, livestock, and all inhabitants
they could find in less than 20 minutes.
No other resistance was encountered.
Some villagers were herded into ditches where they were shot. Still other groups were taken to a
southern trail and shot there. Members of the 2nd Platoon killed at least sixty to seventy Vietnamese
men, women, and children. The 2nd platoon also committed several rapes of the women. Military
photographers recorded graphic images of bodies dumped in ditches. Many of these photos were given
to Time Magazine and published. (Time 1) A group of about 70 80 Vietnamese were killed in a mass
execution in the same fashion. Orders were given during the morning to stop the mass killings. The
2nd platoon stopped at 0920 hours, but the 1st platoon didn t stop until 1030 hours when the orders
were repeated. There were only twenty five or so Vietnamese survivors who excaped by hiding under
the bodies of their neighbors and relatives. This was not an isolated incident however, while the
massacre at My Lai was taking place there was a similar mission of nearby My Khe of a lesser
magnitude. The death toll in My Khe was over 90 women and children, but far less than the estimated
tolls of My Lai. The estimates of My Lai deaths of non combatants ranges from 175 450+. Only one
US soldier was killed in action, and seven

Lactoglobulin Lab Report
Separation and Identification of Bovine Milk α lactalbumin and β lactoglobulin Corbin Croom, Tyler
Donathan, Cama Dooley, Nicholas Johnson October 15, 2014 Abstract Analytical gel electrophoresis
has been used to separate and identify many kinds of proteins including α lactalbumin and β
lactoglobulin. Both proteins can be derived from bovine milk. Skim milk was centrifuged with a
variance in pH to precipitate casein proteins. Whey material was filtered and eluted through a
Sephadex G 50 column. UV Spectrophotometric analysis confirmed the presence of the protein within
the fractions. Separation and identification of α lactalbumin and β lactoglobulin was determined with

fraction number. These peaks occurred at fraction number 43 and fraction number 50, with
absorbances close to 1. Around these fraction numbers was where the largest elution of protein and
likely α lactalbumin was present. Due to high amino acid content of phenylalanine, tryptophan, and
tyrosine, absorbance occurs at 280 nm. The high 280 nm absorbance would suggest a higher amount
of protein elution in the fraction. The early fraction numbers had significantly high absorbance
between fractions 4 and 9. This was due to quick mobility of the protein through the sephadex column
during the size exclusion chromatography before fractions were gathered. The absorbance of the
protein fragments: 7, 8, and 9 were all between 0.59 and 0.62. Protein fragments with absorbance
values above 0.5 had a noticeable amount of desirable protein within the fraction. The electrophoresis
gel was labeled in comparison with a pre stained protein ladder as shown in Figure 2. The 10 kDa
served as a base for the accuracy of the other protein ladder measurements. The 17 kDa measurement
on the protein ladder was compared with the band values of the protein fractions. α lactalbumin has a
molecular weight of 14.2 kDa. The second protein band that eluted from the fractions in the gel was
significantly close to 14 kDa in comparison with the 17 kDa measurement, revealing that α
lactalbumin was present in the fractions. β lactoglobulin

Symbolism In Virginia Woolf s To The Lighthouse

that is why the marriage of Paul and Minta doesn t survived. They parted so soon. The understanding
is necessary. The relationship between Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay proves that marriage is not a guarantee of
mature and healthy relationship between husband and wife. On the other hand, Lily has the first
inspiration about her painting the moment she acknowledges that her work is masculine and also

ability to paint will only progress when those influences are destroyed or rewritten. Lily still proceeds

Indigenous Health Essay
Causative considerations are multifactorial regarding the development of low health literacy rates in
Aboriginals, inclusive of socio economical disadvantages, geographical considerations, and
social/environmental influences (Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, 2015). Differing
conceptualisations of reality or worldview are present within Aboriginal culture, which vary from
westernised civilisation. Indigenous history lacks a biomedical background, and encompasses
differing views of disease/illness, which may be associated with personal actions/behaviours, social
order, and spiritual health. As an example, disease may be viewed as the consequence of
sorcery/voodoo (Vass, Mitchell, Dhurrkay, 2011). Other factors may stem from mistrust of
westernised medicine/civilisation due to The Stolen Generation or social engineering and previous
cultural genocide (Shahid, Finn, Thompson, 2009), English as a second language, and lack of
connection/engagement with westernised pedagogy frameworks for health teaching (Yunkaporta,
2009). Other considerations may correlate to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

And its history in the United States. Marijuana or Cannabis is a hallucinogenic drug that contains a
very high amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It can be used for both medical and recreational
reasons, but it is currently illegal in most states in this country. This drug has been illegal for the
majority of this country s history, and just recently several states like Washington, California, and New

According to Jessica Atkins many crimes in several states are increasing due to the selling and
possession of the substance. Atkins also pointed out that marijuana is a natural herb and it is extremely
less dangerous than any other illegal substance. With that being said many also worry about parents
who also consume this drug and the effects it would have on their children. Dr. Melanie Dreher
conducted many experiments and has inferred that children who are born to marijuana consuming
parents show no factors of birth defects, also the child tends to be more intelligent than children not
born to marijuana consuming parents. There is also a lot of benefits towards consuming medical
marijuana also, it can benefit anyone who has a mental illness and could also help a woman s
pregnancy with decreasing the sense of nausea and vomiting. Marijuana is a very controversial topic
especially legalizing it but people need to realize that there are substances that are killing many people
today that are completely legal under the federal law and it is injustice to keep a drug that has many
benefits and could help people

The shows that just wanted to make a point to society were the ones that got canceled quickly but made the biggest impact. Shows like East Side West Side, Roots, All in the Family. All of these shows were unique in their ability to actually succeed in both goals. They were able to bring in big ratings every single time it was played, but they were also able to make some people stop and reconsider the morals and understandings of society in America at the time. Nathaniel Hawthorne The Effects Of Sin In Scarlet Letter Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author of The Scarlet Letter, focuses the majority of the book on sin and the effects of sin on the protagonist s daily lives throughout the book. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the novel The Scarlet Letter to appeal to the Puritanical ideals of this era, mainly the idea of sin because of Hester Prynne, Reverend Dimmesdale, and Roger Chillingworth, the other two main protagonists of the novel, and their encounters with the punishments they endured. The proximity regarding similar narratives between the two publications has produced curiosity in inquiring minds. Interchangeable associations of both texts have prompted an investigation to explain why this literary phenomenon has occurred. In ancient Greece, Greek mythology began to emerge. Mythical narratives began to erupt for the purpose of giving an explanation to certain social, religious, and environmental phenomena. Greek chronicles included the gods/goddesses, heroes, and non human creatures. Unlike Mythology, The Bible s narratives are actual events that took place dating back to the beginning of time. The conception of The Holy Bible s compilation started thousands of years ago in the land of Egypt. Initially, The Old Testament Scriptures were written in the Hebrew language, however, they were later translated to the Greek. At the onset of The New Testament writings, they were originally recorded in the Greek language. Forty men transcribed the voice of God which resulted in sixty six books of The Holy Bible. The Holy Scriptures explained the creations, formation of the world, God, God s chosen peoples, sin, and the plan of salvation as well. When the lactose broth changed from red to yellow is indicated that acid was produced, and when the bubble was found in the Durham tube, it indicated the presence of gas. EMB agar was used because EMB agar is differential and a type of selective media. EMB agar selects for gram negative bacteria and differentiates just how strong of a lactose fermenter it is by altering the color of the colony. For example, this dictate the pink or purple color of the culture. At this point the presence of coliforms had been confirmed and the next step was to identify the type of coliform. Rose, director of Career Planning and Placement at the University of Pennsylvania, agrees. She sees a major as the window you are picking from which to view the world. Since a rigorous study in that major will lead you to related disciplines, it will also provide a framework for investigation of disciplines far removed from the major itself. Nonetheless, Rose thinks you need a foundation to build on first. Thus, your major is the necessary foundation to engage in creative problem solving in other fields. Whatever reason you have for deciding on a major, the colleges require you to do so. Around these fraction numbers was where the largest elution of protein and likely α lactalbumin was present. Due to high amino acid content of phenylalanine, tryptophan, and tyrosine, absorbance occurs at 280 nm. The high 280 nm absorbance would suggest a higher amount of protein elution in the fraction. The early fraction numbers had significantly high absorbance between fractions 4 and 9. This was due to quick mobility of the protein through the sephadex column during the size exclusion chromatography before fractions were gathered. The absorbance of the protein fragments: 7, 8, and 9 were all between 0.59 and 0.62. Protein fragments with absorbance values above 0.5 had a noticeable amount of desirable protein within the fraction.
