The document summarizes how the eight planets in our solar system can be grouped in different ways, such as by composition and size. The rocky planets consist of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars and are made mostly of rock and metal. The gas planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, which are made mostly of gases like hydrogen and helium. The planets can also be grouped as small planets, with diameters less than 1,300 km, or giant planets, with diameters greater than 4,800 km. All eight planets orbit the sun in circular paths, with the inner solar system closer to the sun and the outer solar system farther away.
This PowerPoint is one small part of the Astronomy Topics unit from www.sciencepowerpoint.com. This unit consists of a five part 3000+ slide PowerPoint roadmap, 12 page bundled homework package, modified homework, detailed answer keys, 8 pages of unit notes for students who may require assistance, follow along worksheets, and many review games. The homework and lesson notes chronologically follow the PowerPoint slideshow. The answer keys and unit notes are great for support professionals. The activities and discussion questions in the slideshow and meaningful. The PowerPoint includes built-in instructions, visuals, and follow up questions. Also included are critical class notes (color coded red), project ideas, video links, and review games. This unit also includes four PowerPoint review games (110+ slides each with Answers), 38+ video links, lab handouts, activity sheets, rubrics, materials list, templates, guides, and much more. Also included is a 190 slide first day of school PowerPoint presentation. Teaching Duration = 5+ weeks. The Solar System has nothing on the Universe. It's been around for 13.8 billion years, give or take a few hundred million. That means the Universe is three times older than the Solar System.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

5. These eight planets are
grouped in many different
ways. Two easy groupings
are composition (what they
are made up of) and size.
6. ROCKY PLANETS (Mercury- Venus -
Earth- Mars)
The rocky planets are mostly made up of
rock and metal. These planets are very
heavy and move slowly. They have no rings
and very few moons.
GAS PLANETS (Jupiter- Saturn - Uranus -
Neptune)
The gas planets are mostly made up of
gases (hydrogen and helium). These planets
are light for their sizes (just like a big air
balloon) and move quickly. They have rings
and lots of moons.
7. Small Planets ( Mercury – Venus – Earth –
Mars )
The small planets have diameters less than
1300km across
Giant Planets ( Jupiter – Saturn – Uranus –
Neptune )
The Giant planets have diameters greater
than 4800 km across
8. In our solar system, eight planets
circle around our sun. The sun sits in
the middle while the planets travel in
circular paths (called orbits) around it.
These planets circle in the same
direction.
9.
10. The solar system is made up of two
parts.
The inner solar system contains
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars
These planets are closets to the sun.
The outer solar system contains
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
The inner solar system is separated
from the outer solar system by the
Asteroid belt.
11.
12. All eight planets orbit around the sun.
Depending on the distance, some
planets, circle the Sun faster than the
others. We live in heliocentric system.
This means that our solar system is
centered around the sun.
13. The Sun is the star that shines in the
sky during the day and gives the earth
the heat and light.
14. Sunspots can be large as 50.000 km
across. Scientist are still trying to
explain what causes these sunspots.
15. Here is a picture of a solar eclipse.
During a solar eclipse, the moon
posses directly between the earth and
the sun. When this happens, light from
the sun is blocked off for a short time.
A solar eclipse can cause completely
darkness during the day time.
