For small businesses who want to get into video marketing, here are the 5 secrets you need to know in order to be success. 1) It starts with the fact that you don’t need all the special video equipment, people, lights, etc of a traditional photo shoot. However…good sound is key. 2) Secondly, you need your video to be short—less than 2 minutes in length in order to be effective. 3) Keywords is key. These are words that are relates to your business, industry & brand. 4) Music matters. 5) Quantity over quality.

  13. It’s easy to fool the eye but difficult to fool the ear. And let’s face it, you could have a video shot by Ken Burns, but if the sound is muffled, garbled, mumbled or otherwise hard to hear, people will click off the video—no matter how compelling the video. Use an external/wireless microphone—the ones built into your average consumer camcorder/flip cam aren’t great. –they’re also omni-directional meaning they pick up sound from everywhere. Get close to the subject you’re interviewing. Interview the subject in a quiet location—again to avoid the background noise that’s going on. It’s distracting to see someone talking about something serious & hear laughing in the background. Every room has it’s own buzz/background, so if you capture 30 seconds of, then you’re able to edit that into your video on the back end.
