buried in sandy
areas.

Snapping Turtles only
live in fresh water,
brackish bodies with
muddy bottoms and
abundant vegetation
because concealing is
easier.
6. What’s on the Menu
Snapping turtles eat
nearly everything that
its mouth can fit
around.
They feed on carrion,
invertebrates, fish,
birds, small mammals,
amphibians, aquatic
vegetation.
7. Making tracks
A snapping turtle
doesn’t make
tracks.
It crawls place to
place.
