Working Title: SHEER LIVING I chose this name because the word ‘sheer’ relates to glam
and this was the purpose of my magazine for it to be a high-quality design magazine for my
audience, femalesto look for inspiration and get ideasfor their own living décor or when
having your first home and not knowing where to start. I did explore different titles in my
planning because I did struggle but this one really stood out and really catches my attention
through sheer is gives of a calm mood and exciting tone.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose: the purpose of my product can be to educate or inspire people this is
because my audience is able to learn new techniques such as cheaper and affordable
furniture which can still result in looking more expensive than the actual price, therefore
this will help in saving money. My magazine will also inspire my audience through images
e.g. on the front cover or included and they will then want to maybe achieve this certain look
or style. The magazine I am going to make will have a step to step to help produce the
perfect design in their homes. This will include lists and different new trends and prices for
the labelled pricesand tagged websites so they can find different stores and where to buy
these items.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre: the genre of the magazine will be focusing on design, vintage and minimalist. The
magazine will fit into these genres because there will be different aspects of design and my
main focus is ‘home decor’ for example this means I will include photos of kitchens, living
rooms and bedrooms. This product is going to inspire and give ideastowards my audience.
I chose minimalist because I believe women aged 25 and over would mainly like not having
a crowded living room, they would rather only add a few pieces of furniture this gives a
classier and more elegant look is what my magazine istrying to give out. I chose home
décor as a main focus because the design of your home is very important to people and
they like there design to represent themselves therefore this magazine gives of ideas and
ways to help you create this as a guide.
What sort of product is it
Content: my magazine isabout an interior design magazine which is used for ideasand to
inspire my audience because it will involve ways to create a perfect design and involve
loads of different ideas for my audience. This will also include prices and places so the
people will know where to find the specific products and how to put together for example
the perfect living room it is bit like Pinterest as it includes so many different types of images
so people can also save the magazine to re-create the imagesin the magazine. Included in
my two page spread it is a story of ‘Ella Smith’ who is a famous interior designer who talks
about her favourite looks and how she creates this she also gives away her secrets and tips
this will grab my audience’s attention a lot more because I believe including a celebrity
brings in fans of this and some people inspire this people and will want to try use their ways
of how they became who they are today.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience: The audience for my magazine isgoing to be people aged 25-54 and mainly
femalesbecause at an older age when starting a family is the best time to want that ‘perfect
home’ and something there kids would love, this is because my magazine will consist of
bright colour schemes such as light pinks and greys pastel themed to really give a feminine
look towards the magazine and fashionable furniture which looks more modern and I think
that women get most excited when decorating their homes and love the idea of it and want
to find the best ideas. My magazine won’t be aimed at any certain race but will aimed at
believers because they focus on individuality and power so they can focus on their home
and be proud of the outcome and dedication to their own designs this will also help my
audience connect with their home and make it feel more special.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?

Legal & Ethical Considerations: in my magazine there will be no offensive material and it
won’t affect any religions and race. This is because it doesn’t involve people in my
magazine everything in my magazine is unique and designed by myself and my layout is all
done by me on photoshop therefore there won’t be any copyright issues. I do have a
storyline within my two-page spread this is my own which I have created is a made-up
celebrity. I won’t restrict younger people from reading this magazine because nothing age
restricted is included or offensive although I picked a certain age range doesn’t mean
younger people cannot read or look through pictures. I also looked through ASA codes of
my advertising to make sure this product is honest and well-advertised.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
