Working Title:
War Between Gods
Audience:
My audience will be around 16-18 years old. I am going for a gory game which will have a lot of
effects added into it to make it entertaining to watch and play. It will most likely be males playing
this game as it is going for a more gruesome and destructive manner towards it. Any social status
could play this game as everyone is equal at the beginning and it is mainly skill based rather than
pay to win so anyone could enjoy the game without having to pay to be good. The reason this
game would attract this types of people is because the games which are more gruesome have a
higher age group playing this game and mainly are dominated by males as they are more into
fighting in the most gory way possible. Such as Mortal Kombat has a dominated gender type
playing the game.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I have been able to make the animation quicker and still have the same quality. This is because I
can use more shortcuts and understand what they do and how it can benefit me. I can put these to
use as my background will be moving a lot throughout the fight so being able to control that easily
will speed up my progression so I can focus more on the detail and the fight between the
characters. My advergame was a surfing game which was made as a endless runner. The won’t
really help me for this game but getting used to a dynamic background which I did for the surfing
game could come in use as I am going to be having a background which acts with the fight.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am going for a Fighting game which will include gods from different eras such as Norse, Greek or
making up my own ones. This is because I can make the game more dynamic so different gods
have different powers, which will make the game look better in fights. Whereas if I just do normal
fights with powers but not as exciting so doing gods can make it so the game looks fun and people
can back there favourite gods from different things they have seen them from. I will need to
research different types of gods and their powers. Also I will need to research different
backgrounds I can use for the maps and stages. Also I will need to see what different gods look
like so I can base certain outfits on them and even add customisable options to them so they can
look better than the standard version so people can show if they are experienced or not. I wont be
adding the finisher animation like Mortal Kombat does as I wont be able to give it a really good
effect as the detail wont be reached properly. So I will be doing heavy effects for different reasons
such as power moves will be a big effect, killing the opponent will be a big effect but hits and
counters will only be a small effect but blood will be active throughout the whole fight. The
gruesome aspect of the fight will be added when a opponent gets hit or a power move has
happened.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will be evaluating the game on the effects and fighting animations I will be putting in. This is
because I want to have a lot of effects in the fight and make it entertaining to watch and play. Also
I want to be close to what I planned on doing so I know I have put everything I wanted into the
game.
