Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) occurs frequently and is associated with significant morbidity in critically ill patients. There is no enough evidence to indicate that VAP is preventable and that hospitals can decrease VAP rates.
VAP is associated with increased lengths of ICU and hospital stay, increased mortality rates, and increased costs.
Analysis of LOS reports demonstrated that VAP was associated with a mean increase in ICU length-of-stay of 6.1 days.
Approximately (50 %) of all antibiotics administered in (ICUs) are for treatment of (VAP ). Therefore this ppt. concerned with; Illustration of (VAP), Epidemiology and Risk factors,Types of (VAP), Causative Pathogenesis, New approaches in diagnosis, Protocols of treatment, Prevention Strategies and (VAP bundle).
This document summarizes a study on the cyclic triaxial behavior of Shiwalik sandstone from India. Cyclic loading tests were conducted on samples in uniaxial and triaxial conditions at varying frequencies (1-3 Hz) and confining pressures (5-7 MPa). The results show that increasing the frequency or confining pressure improves the fatigue life and strength of the sandstone. S-N curves illustrate that higher frequencies and confining pressures allow the sandstone to withstand higher cyclic stresses without failing. Understanding the fatigue properties is important for designing structures subjected to dynamic loads, such as those from earthquakes or heavy machinery.

Rheological properties of scc in terms of its thixotriopic behaviour and its ...eSAT Publishing House
This document discusses the rheological properties and thixotropic behavior of self-consolidating concrete (SCC), and how these properties influence the formwork pressure of SCC. The researchers conducted experiments to determine the effect of cement type, water-to-cement ratio, chemical admixtures, and time on the rheological properties of SCC mixtures. They also measured the formwork pressure of SCC mixtures to determine the influence of rheological properties on formwork pressure. The goal was to better understand how the thixotropic stiffening of SCC relates to the observed decrease in formwork pressure when using SCC.

King Arthur fell ill after a battle and was taken to a chapel by Sir Lucan and Sir Bedivere. He commanded Sir Bedivere to throw his sword Excalibur into the waters, but Sir Bedivere hid it instead of following the order. When Arthur learned the truth, he made Sir Bedivere throw Excalibur into the water, where a mysterious arm emerged and caught the sword before disappearing back into the water. Sir Bedivere then helped Arthur onto a barge filled with ladies, where Arthur died with his head in one of their laps.
Old English literature from the Anglo-Saxon period between the 5th-11th centuries included epic poems, saints' lives, sermons, laws, and histories. Most texts were compiled in monasteries and courts. Ballads were a common form of folk literature, consisting of rhyming quatrains with a refrain. One example is the medieval ballad "Lord Randal", which tells the story of a young man poisoned by his lover after dining with her. Anglo-Saxon rule ended with the Norman conquest after the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
The document discusses colloids, which have particle sizes between 1-100 nm and bridge the gap between solutions and suspensions. Colloids scatter light so a beam of light passing through one will be visible, unlike with solutions where the beam remains invisible. Colloids exhibit Brownian motion, with particles moving rapidly and randomly through the dispersion medium.
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. The document discusses various properties of matter including physical properties like volume, density, and state of matter, as well as chemical properties involving changes in a substance's identity.
