Taking the Training Wheels Off Social SoftwareAlan Lepofsky
The Shift From Sharing To Getting Work Done
Over the last few years employees have slowly grown accustomed to using social software at work. Actions such as posting status updates, sharing links to web sites and publishing personal blogs have provided great starting points for getting people engaged, but now it's time for employees to start using social software to help Get Work Done. In this session we'll discuss the growing trends of using social tools for task/project management and integration of social elements into core-businesses process. You'll hear how departments such as Human Resources, Marketing and Support can use social technologies to improve the way people work. Topics will include social/workforce analytics, social media monitoring, mobile devices and gamification. It's time to take social software from a tool for sharing to a key contributor of company success.
Presented at E2Conf Boston by
Alan Lepofsky and Yvette Cameron of Constellation Research

- Social Task Management
- Analytics & Gamification
First presented at http://www.e2conf.com/virtual/
The value of Social Analytics can be surfaced in many ways. Sometimes is quite visual like a leader board that helps motivate participation. Other times it's behind the scenes like the algorithms used to recommend groups to join or pages to read. Either way, social analytics can help you make better informed decisions, provide more relevancies to your interactions and ultimately help you get you and your company be more successful. This session will take a look at some of the real world implementations of social analytics available today from many of the social business vendors. We'll talk about the trends in this space and discuss some of the possible future directions.

From the MER Conference 2012
Speakers:Jim Coulson and Andy Moore
Although organizations have made significant progress in defining their requirements and suitable technologies have been developed to support these needs, the painful reality is: despite sophisticated change management efforts, sustainable implementation and compliance throughout an organization is rare.
Two experts bring their broad experience to consider how records management and knowledge management are in fact entwined - and how this affects success with information management implementations.
The objective of this session is to probe emerging information management models and their probability in satisfying both corporate stakeholders with compliance and end users in getting their work done.
This session brings a better understanding of:
- The current state of Electronic Records and Information Management - why it has evolved this way and what needs to be done to finally see success,
- The natural jurisdictions of accountability and responsibility for managing information and records in an organization,
- The financial, social and business structures that must be in place to ensure a sustainable electronic records and information management environment,
- How to motivate senior management and business operations people in moving your electronic records and information management program forward.
This session provides a unique opportunity to share the candid insights of two industry experts who bring both diverse perspectives to current issues as well as provocative new ideas for future resolutions.

Why the systemic risks in Enterprise Cloud Computing could cripple your busin...Livingstone Advisory
Organisations that have successfully implemented standalone cloud systems may feel that they have won the war against complex and expensive enterprise IT. That feeling may not last too long once these systems need to be integrated with other systems, cloud or otherwise. The minute you start integrating your cloud with these other systems, you have what is termed a Hybrid Cloud.
Your IT risks are now becoming systemic risks – a point not lost in the most recent KPMG 2012 Audit Institute Report which identified “IT Risk & Emerging Technologies” as the second highest concern for 2012
In this presentation, Rob Livingstone, suggests some practical approaches that CEOs, COOs and CFOs should be considering in the identification and mitigation of the pitfalls of Cloud computing in the enterprise.

When CIOs think like business strategists, they shift from primarily managing technology projects to become highly business relevant. The ability of CIOs to successfully make this shift is key to underpinning the transformation of IT within the organisation. This transformation is critical to organisations that are looking for ways of driving innovation and entrepreneurship within the IT group, which in turn drives sustainable business value. The role of the CIO is at the core of this transformation.
In this engaging and practical session, Rob Livingstone provides valuable insights on how organisations and CIOs alike can ensure this transition is made successfully, and rapidly.

"Overcoming the Fear: What C-Level Execs are Afraid of When it Comes to Socia...Blend Interactive
Overcoming the Fear: What C-Level execs are afraid of when it comes to social intranets
Let’s face it, the biggest hurdle to overcome with a social intranet is often pure fear. The C-level can be hopelessly gunshy about employees displaying the slightest about of intranet-sanctioned social humanity. The idea of a social network behind the firewall wakes them up in a cold sweat at night. Where did this fear come from? And can it be overcome?

Leveraging the 4 C’s of Social Software to Drive Talent Management AdoptionElizabeth Lupfer
This webinar provides a detailed look at how the 4 C's of Social Technology: Collaboration, Content, Connections & Conversations are used successfully within talent strategies and the technology that supports them. Provides insights into: how successful organizations are using social technologies to complement their talent strategies; how the right social technologies embedded within the right talent technologies can improve user adoption; and, how social technologies can increase employee engagement.
When considering the adoption of cloud computing services, a business case cannot be complete without a discussion on governance. In particular, it is important to understand that there are likely negative consequences that could result from an ad-hoc, non-deliberately defined governance approach. Even where there are no obvious mis-steps, project-level actions and decisions that might be clearly sensible in isolation might interfere with organization-wide strategic goals if taken in aggregate. Additionally, there might be non-obvious pitfalls - the temptation of immediate implementation after a credit card payment can lead to risks out of proportion to the cost savings incurred by a specific department or team. However, although risk management is vital, it is one of many aspects of governance that should be considered.
Since the general meaning of "governance" simply refers to "the system used for exercising authority", it has come to represent different ideas to different people. Too often, end users see it in a negative light "governance means rules that make it hard for me to do my job", and legal departments see it as "rules that we need to prevent exposure to attack". We propose that if possible it is best to approach governance as "processes that encourage desirable behavior by making common things easy but hard things possible".
Finally it is important to realize that with all meanings there is no universal "correct" form of governance. Different forms of governance are effective in different situations, for achieving different outcomes, or even for achieving the same outcome in different ways.

The 20 Most Important Skills Everyone Needs To Succeed In A Digital WorldBernard Marr
Technology and digitization are changing our world faster than ever before. Innovations such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and the metaverse are turning entire industries and career tracks upside down. Here, we look at what that will mean for future skills.
Topic: Privacy: Billion-Dollar Companies Built on YOU
Speaker: Chris Clausen
This discussion will cover data privacy, how we should define it, and topics such as anonymity, corporate accountability, and more.
-----------------
Privacy – a loaded term open to varying scope and definition, yet evoking a very specific emotional response in most of us when we think about our own privacy, the associated rights we expect, and the risks we worry about.
Be it wanting ‘connectedness’ via social media, the growing ubiquity of voice assistant apps (they’re always on and monitoring our utterances) and IoT devices, or algorithms that assimilate our every click and swipe to deliver optimized media and shopping recommendations, consumers are trading privacy for convenience.
In the established ‘give-to-get’ model between billion-dollar companies and consumers, the typical consumer does not have true transparency/understanding of how their personal data is being used and exchanged, let alone know their rights and options regarding their personal data. Further, is this data truly being anonymized (cannot be traced back to real-world individuals) and protected from meddling nation-states and bad actors?
As technology leaders, what is our fiduciary responsibility? What could our role be in both giving consumers more control, while driving the industry to better protect their information?
Actors are autonomous, intentional, social & rational; their actions are not defined by system specifications.
Human actors have relationships with others in their network and exchange tangible & intangible goods/value.
Static & Dynamic modeling framework fall short of capturing these dependencies and rationale of the social actors.
Social Modeling can compliment Static & Dynamic Modeling and prepare your systems to be social from the ground up.
This deck aims at piquing your interest and take a look at social modeling and a few other concepts.
