The document discusses developing a computer-aided kid learning system in Ethiopia to improve early childhood education. It notes that Ethiopia's current teaching methods are lecture-based and take a long time for kids to learn basics like alphabets. The proposed system aims to minimize this time from 3 years to 1 year through computerized lessons that provide consistent pronunciation and eliminate boring lectures. It would teach English, Amharic and Arabic content to Ethiopian kids and include features like dictionaries and quizzes. The document outlines the project's objectives, scope, methodologies for data collection, design, implementation and testing to create an efficient system using Visual Basic and SQL Server.

E-Learning Project Write Up Case Study Ogun State Institute Of Technologydamilola isaac
Over the last decade, researchers and practitioners have developed a wide range of knowledge related to electronic learning or e-learning. This movement has affected different elements and components; infrastructures, tools, content-oriented applications, human-computer interactions, pedagogical issues, methodologies and models, case studies and projects. This chapter briefly describes the overall idea of the development of e-learning system for OGITECH by using Apache, PHP and MySQL. This chapter includes objectives of the project, scope of work, problem statement and features of project before developed the own sites.
E-Learning has its historical background in about 30 years of development in computer based on the training and education. With the growth of the internet this kind of training became much more accepted and the creation of multimedia contents and systems to manage learning activities went on faster. Additional e-learning is based on a long tradition of teaching and learning experience. The larger worlds Information Technology and Education and Training influenced the new term e-learning and so e-learning became a subset of both of them.
Nowadays, e-learning refers to learning that is delivered or enabled via electronic technology. It encompasses learning delivered via a range of technologies such as the internet, television, videotape, and computer-based training. In principle, e-learning is a kind of distance learning. Learning materials can be accessed from the web or intranet via a computer and tutors and learners can communicate with each other using e-mail, chat or discussion forums.
Therefore, it can be used as the main method of delivery of training or as a combined approach with classroom-based training. It can be valuable when used as a part of well-planned and properly supported education and training environment, but e-learning is not a magic bullet that replaces existing pedagogical theories and approaches.
Nevertheless, it has almost everything that those theories need to get implemented.
Many learning and technology professionals believe that e-learning will have become state of the art when we will stop referring to it by a separate name and begin considering it as an integral part of a complete learning environment.
7 Surefire Tips for Remote Teaching: Make Learning EngagingKavika Roy
https://prepai.in/blog/advantages-and-disadvantages-of-elearning/
Remote learning stemmed from the requirements arising from sudden or unexpected events, like snowstorms, scheduled absences, or any other emergency situation rendering students and teachers unable to come for the regular classes.
Mostly confused with online teaching, remote teaching essentially moves the educational content to an online space and there are little or no discussion boards, group work, assessments, etc.
Online teaching, on the other hand, comprises interactive modules and assessments based on real-life scenarios and discussion forums for discussing and solving problems. The lectures are not recorded and the sessions are synchronous and involve problem discussion and resolution.
Hence, there is a subtle and significant difference between both the terms, despite them being used interchangeably by people these days.
Recent studies predict exponential growth in the global e-learning market and the market valuation to sit above 370 bn USD by 2026.
While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has a major role in driving this growth, remote learning has been there prior to the pandemic as well.
However, remote teaching comes with a lot of challenges that not only affect the quality of teaching, but also the overall experience for both – the educators and the students.
Authoring system of drill & practice elearning modules for hearing impaired s...ijcsit
Hearing Impaired (HI) persons need to keep on practicing and repeating their lessons as well as their exercises. Teaching methodology of HI students differ than normal students. HI students need to be involved in practicing more and more using their modes of visual communication like sign language to cover their audio disability. Teaching methodology of HI students recommends demonstration and repeating with slow presentations of instructional material. A teacher displays his lesson directly face to
face without visual noise. More reinforcement and encouragement to HI students , fun & enjoyment should
be strongly included in the e-lessons as well as continuous interaction between teacher and HI students. As
per previous factors the decision of researchers is to develop Drill & Practice (D&P) e-learning modules(eLMs) for selected topics like Mathematics. D&P eLMs of Mathematics for HI persons would be the case study of this research including Developing & Evaluating.
The authors selected D&P eLMs Because eLMs match the requirements and mechanism of teaching methodology for HI students.
The mechanism of developing eLMs is represented by Developing an Authoring System which allows teachers of HI persons to generate any eLM of any selected topic for HI students. Also they can generate multiple eLMs in the project.
The evaluating producer & tools for the experimental eLMs were view points of Experts through openQuestionnaire to list their evaluating comments. Besides view points of experts. There are experiments which were held in real environment of HI students to test the eLMs of D&P of Mathematics to get valuable feedback from them.
1. Chapter one
1. Introduction
Our country is a third world country, hence it needs more intellectual person, and those
intellectual persons come from school. As we know that from ancient times there were up to know
few intellectuals exist with respect to our human power. So school produces the intellectual person
and those intellectuals have a responsible to well, honesty, accountable and responsible person.
Higher class students do not have 100 percent depend on the teacher but the kids like a b lind
person, need a leader person to guide them. For example the kid took to learn alphabet fully for
three years. This is not better, in stayed to damage this extra year we will try to minimize the time
taken for giving fundamental or basic course to children from three to one year by developing new
computerized system.
We are trying to develop a System concern of creating good children with technologica l
advancement where our world reached. The Current teaching method in all KG schools is dictation
and a lecture given by teachers with this system the kids take extended time up to three years. The
main purpose of COMPUTER AIDED KID LEARNING SYSTEM is improving teaching
methodology and to minimize the time taken for the teaching of fundamental or basic education,
to state briefly COMPUTER KID LEARTNING SYSTEM minimizes from two year to three
year for giving fundamental courses to kids. This computerized system helps the kids to know the
exact pronunciations, alphabets and other related subjects with no variation of sounds and teaching
methodology inspire of this, the kids will have the original alphabets and their pronunciations.
1.1 Background
In Ethiopia the teaching learning system has been is not well developed. This means children
in Ethiopia use to learn in lecture based methodology, this system offers the kids education which
took a long time for the kids to capture the lecture given by the teachers. And the redundancy of
the lecture system made the teaching learning methodology for long. For example, the kids are
thought alphabets according to the given lecture, which is boring this problem makes kids not to
use their time wisely. This is to mean the teaching process took a long time. Still the problem is
beyond the kids and generally lack technological advancement in the country.
We are doing our project on general Computer aided kid learning system in Ethiopia but when
we try to start from the specific organization here in Axum, Lydia Academic School. This school
has been established 2005 E.C. This education center established with 556 students. Lydia
Academic School has given from KG school to grade 7.
1.2 Statement of the problem
2. It is clear that our country is backward and developing and also education is the corner stone
of development our educational background extends to the beginning of the20thcentury when
education is started government based since then we have seen very little gradual changes which
doesn’t have affect of on the process of progress, to specify.
They use manual teaching method.
Lack of teacher have problem on children.
They are not interested well.
It is boring teaching method
If they know something, they did not tell to teacher.
1.3 Objective of the problem
1.3.1 General objective
The general objective of COMPUTER AIDED KID LEARNING SYSTEM is to provide an
efficient modular design that will reduce the system complexity, results an easy implementat io n.
This can be accomplished by designing computerized teaching learning system. The lower
education system (COMPUTER AIDED KID LEARNING SYSTEM) is developed keeping in
mind current & further coming technologies.
●Scaling the progress of technology to the highest level.
●Creating effective teaching method
1.3.2 Specific objective
COMPUTER AIDED KID LEARNING SYSTEM mainly concern how students in their
childhood learn alphabet & number. To make the teaching learning system more effective we need
to have software with new system. In addition to this, COMPUTER AIDED KID LEARNING
SYSTEM will have the following specific objectives.
To speed up our teaching learning process in computerized way.
To minimize man power.
Children have to learn alphabets in their home.
For children to have fast and responsible ability.
Children have to know about technology from their childhood.
To give fundamental or basic education to children with maximum of two years.
1.4 Purpose of the project
We are trying to develop system with a concern of creating good children who have confidence
and ability in our country. The major benefit of this software is improving teaching system and to
support the lower grade students where there is easily accessible computer. The major benefits we
are proposing are as follow:
3. Kids are offered education through computerized system. This can be use in digital way
of teaching system.
Minimizing man power used for teaching and learning process.
Creating familiarity of technology with the kids.
To minimize the time taken for teaching and learning process.
1.5 Scope
The scope of the system means the general use of this system. COMPUTER AIDED KID
LEARNING SYSTEM will give the kids visual lesson added to the audio. When our system is
installed it will cover all activities used to teach children. This system will be developed for
children who are not able to read, pronounce and count a b c d and it may be appropriate for adults
who have the same lack of know how. The system will be fully available only in Ethiopia because
it will teach.
English alphabets for Ethiopian children.
Arabic and geez number.
Will have dictionary with up to 1000 word.
Amharic alphabet.
Test/Quiz kids on the given lesson.
1.6 Methodology
1.6.1 Data gathering techniques
I. Interview (asking somebody questions: to ask somebody a series of questions in an interview).
II. Observation (Seeing of developments in something: the careful watching and recording of
something).
1.6.2 Design Methodology

1.6.4 Testing Methodology
1. Unit testing: To conduct test in this method we select sample code (one function or module)
and run it separately to look its correct functionality.
2. Integration testing: The different modules developed and tested in the previous phase are
integrated and then tested in this phase. The integration and testing may be done step-by-step in
which some modules will first be integrated and tested, and when successful, more modules will
be added.
3. System Testing: Testing conducted on a complete, integrated system computer aided kid
learning system performance with its specified requirements. Series of reliability and functiona lit y
tests designed to find software engineering errors.
•Alpha Testing: Testing using correct input and sees for any failures. If failure occurs find and
correct the bug.
•Beta Testing: In this testing method, team will force the system to be tested for incorrect data
input. The System will be tested by the customer. If any failures occurred while testing the system
in all the above testing methods, the team will take immediate correction beginning where this
fault occurred before jumping to next work so that it will meet the goal. If all the above testing
methods are carried out and find to be valid the System will directly deploy.
