2. Why so important? Many jobs these days involve technology some how. It also helps students that are visual and kinesthetic learners.
3. Challenges You Must Overcome Challenge 1- Improve setting in which students are being exposed to technology. Challenge 2- How a teacher will work with technology in a high tech environment. Challenge 3- Selecting the right tools to use in the classroom.
4. Challenge 1 Improving the setting. Student should be exposed to technology as much as possible not just an hour a week in computer class.
5. Challenge 2 Working in a high tech environment. Some teachers start “tunneling” when they are forced out of their comfort zone. Teachers should be trained in as much technology as possible.
6. Challenge 3 Selecting the right tools. Curriculum software packages not the answer what so ever. Students should be exposed to all types of software. Ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
7. How you can make learning fun.. A school district in Florida uses Skype to have students talk to new faces. Smart boards allow students to visually see and write right there on the white board. Smart Tables are moving into more and more classrooms especially in Special Ed classes.
8. What We Can Do We need to give the students every possibility to use technology no matter what. Not only in English or Reading but also in Math, Science, Social Studies.
9. What I Have Already Learned Technology is very important and where ever I end up as an administrator I will tell the school district we need the best. Teacher will need to make sure students use technology and I will send them to any training they need.
10. Conclusion Students will have technology around them weather it is a game console, computer, or TV. We need to give them the best opportunity to use it.
