Philanthropy Reader By John Rockfeller
#2 In the book Philanthropy reader , a variety of philanthropy philosophies are discussed; However, in
this class, we have talked about three different types of philanthropy, the types of philanthropy are
Effective altruism, philanthropic locals, and conservative philanthropy. Personally, I believe that if
every individual has the same philanthropy mindset, all of these would be successful and solve social
problems that the world is facing. Obviously, in today s society, everyone has their beliefs and support
a different kind of philanthropy. Personally, I am a supporter of all three ideologies, because I think
they go hand in hand. What I mean with hand in hand is the fact that we all should start with taking
care of ourselves and family before we start taking care of others. In the book philanthropy reader,
John Rockfeller argues about The difficult art of giving , and he states: If people can be educated to
help themselves, we strike at the root of many of the evils in the world (412). This shows that
philanthropy starts by taking care of yourself, and when people manage to look out for themselves,
they can start looking out for other people as well. When it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If I would donate my money, it would be with an intention of goodness of my heart, and not
something I would do to make myself feel better in one way or another. A problem in today s society,
is the fact that people do not give to help the people in need, they donate to make themselves look
good, and that is wrong. My reason for giving would be similar to Bill Gates, because he found an
issue that could help the most amount of people, and invested in it. If I would give my money to a
charity, it would be to a charity that I feel passionate about, because if I feel passionate about
something, I would put my heart and soul in it to make a significant

Strategic Action Disney On Consumer Focused Initiative
Which strategic action disney took in terms of consumer focused initiative? Walt Disney is a well
known brand known all over the world. It launched a theme park, Disneyland, in Hong Kong in 2005
which was the smallest of the five already existing disneylands in different parts of the world. It was
started mainly to cater the Hong Kong people as the chinese market is rapidly growing and it was a
good and profitable move to open up disneyland in Hong Kong. The strategy which Disney adopted is
highly diversify. The company diversified its brand into different businesses like theme parks,
television networks, hotels, books and toys for children, animated and motion films etc. Soon it
erupted as a big and well known brand in the entertainment industry. The company s strategy is to
produce qualitative goods and services and engaging modern technology with their services and
expand their brand globally. In 1993 disney opened a theme park in Japan which was very successful.
After its huge success the next one was at Paris in 1992. Disney was an American brand and entering
into non american markets was not easy for them because of many cultural differences. They wanted
to enter european market but for entering non american european markets the management understood
the fact that they need to understand the cultural differences first. To cater the european french market,
the company restructured its management completely so that they can effectively enter the french
market.

The Stereotypes Of Top Gear
In 1997 the first episode of Top Gear was launched, at that time it was a conventional motoring
magazine show. However, after the 2002 relaunch, the show has made a huge transformation into a
more humorous and controversial show. With an estimated 350 million views per week in 170
different countries, Top Gear is a fine example of how mass media is used to persuade and inform
large audiences, conveying many ideas both motor related, and non motor related. The show has been
made famous by three iconic presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, for
their obnoxious manner and use of language, speaking their minds without thinking twice about
offending any potential viewers. Over the years, their comments have offended multiple racial groups,
from American to Germans, as well as viewers of different genders.
Racist comments are probably the most frequent type of humor found on Top Gear. The three

Top Gear is a show watched by many for its comedic value, entertainment, and highly opinionated

the extent where even those not concerned by the comments feel disgusted or compassion. However,
hypocrisy is common amongst viewers as many will laugh at the stereotypes of others whilst feeling
insulted from comments relating to themselves. Top Gear isn t a show for everyone, but those who are
easily offended should maintain their distance from the issues raised from the brash, cocky and
arrogant style of the trio. The style of Top Gear s humor is frowned upon and seen as cheap and
unacceptable by many in today s society. The racist remarks made by Top Gear are cheap jokes made
to get a laugh without considering the racial groups they are making fun of. This is a self centered act
which should not be allowed on national television, let alone international

Essay on Evaluation of a Strategy for Increase in Car...
Evaluation of a Strategy for Increase in Car Production
The Morgan motor company is a small conservative company that is based in the north of England
that is a producer of hand made, high quality cars. The purpose of the strategy is to identify the cause
of the problem that is currently meaning that Morgan can only produce around nine cars per week.
Despite this the company has much strength in the way that it operates, for example the company has
a background of being very traditional. Job production has provided a very highly skilled and
committed workforce and has enabled the production of a high quality.
The negative culture and resistance to change of the workforce and management has ... Show more

The company has become so outdated that it may be better for the company to begin from scratch.
In order to identify the causes of the problem the Morgan Company would need to carry out three
different studies, these are:
* A Works Study
* Market Research
* A analysis of the accounts and sales of the company
The main purpose of the works study would provide Morgan with the evidence of the problem within
the company and to highlight the specific problems in the company. For example the poor logistics
and layout of the factory which means that the cars have to be manually moved around the factory
from one stage to another. The works study will highlight the areas that need to be improved by the
business, and how they can be improved, for example the car is predominantly made by hand, can be
improved by the incorporation of tooling which is likely to make little difference to the nature and
finished quality of the product. The work study would highlight the problem of the length of
production for the product which is currently three months and how this could be improved. The work
study will be used to show the management and workforce the need for

Any Farming is Good Farming Essay
Any Farming is Good Farming
In the future you will go to the grocery store and pay $15 a pound for Pork, and $20 a pound for Beef.
World hunger outside the United States will be running rampant because of an inadequate food supply.
Houses will start to pop up on all of the United States prime farmland. If we continue to bash
corporate farming, this is the world we would be looking at. Family farms would thrive because there
is little competition. The world as a whole would suffer because the small farms in the United States
could no longer supply the world, let alone its own citizens, with food.
The farming industry as a whole is failing and that is why we see family farms disappearing from the
landscape of America. America has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leader of the National Family Farm Coalition, Bill Cristison states, There needs to be a far greater
understanding in this country about the important role of family farmers in providing for our nations
food supply and food security (Christison). The truth is family farms do not produce enough goods to
support the demand in the United States. People can t see that we need corporate farming and it is a
good thing for the national government to support any type of farming. In my mind, Cristison must not
want to support farming at all because he rejects the 2002 Farm Bill. Cristison states, Representative
Larry Combest, the House Agriculture Committee chairman, has said publicly that the winners of this
Farm Bill are American farmers. I strongly disagree. The winners of this farm bill are corporate
agribusiness (Christison). This bill was going to deliver income to farms through the taxpayer. This
would make up for losses that ANY farmer may take. Why would Cristison be against this if he is for
farming? Family farms are getting the money as well. This bill is very fair; if you have a larger farm
you will receive more money. That is how it should work, much like taxes in a sense that you pay
based on the size of your income. This bill was the only logical agreement reached by the national
government on how to help its farmers.
I know exactly what people in this country want to see when they think of agriculture. They want to
see their next door neighbor out on

Sheep Vs Market Sheep Essay
Breeding Sheep vs. Market Sheep
Iowa is home to approximately 175,000 sheep ( Iowa Sheep Industry Association n. pag.). Our large
sheep population means that we are ranked tenth in the nation for all sheep and lambs. With those
statistics in mind, it is important to have knowledge about this part of our agricultural industry in
Iowa. Sheep are raised to either breed or sell. Breeding sheep and market sheep are raised in similar
ways, but as with most, they do vary. Breeding and market sheep have four main independent
qualities.
An obvious difference between breeding and market sheep is their anatomy. Male breeding sheep are
called rams. A ram is a male sheep that was not castrated therefore still has his testicles. Testicles are

Breeding sheep are raised for reproduction. The ram and ewes are usually penned together from
September through early November. In this time frame, the hope is that each ewe will cycle and get
bred by the ram. One ram can breed multiple ewes in the same time frame. When the ewes are bred,
they have a five month gestation period. As a result of the breeding time, lambing season ranges from
February to April. Market sheep are born from breeding sheep. The owner may have decided that they
would not need another ram or ewe for the next year s sheep herd. Market sheep are raised to be sold
when they have reached their prime. Local market sheep are frequently sold in late August. At this
time, the wethers and ewes weigh anywhere from 130 to 170 pounds. Sheep are most commonly
purchased by the pound. In recent years, market sheep have sold for around one dollar and fifty cents
per pound. Buyers either choose to continue feeding the sheep for a while longer, or take it to a place
to be turned into meat. Farmers raise sheep with specific end goals in mind which determine if their

Writing As A Tool That Everyone Can Benefit From Good...
I have become to notice, through my English 1101 class, that writing well is a tool that everyone can
benefit from. Good writers will tell of an occasion in which their talent has earned them advancement;
an advancement that comes to play not only in the job market but also for personal satisfaction.
Fortunately, writing is a skill that can be practiced to a point at which near flawlessness is reached.
The many sides of writing can seem quite overwhelming to the novice, like myself. The aspect of
writing that most people are unaware of is the fact that it is actually broken down into just a few basic
principles. Those principles are, be clear, be yourself, have correct grammar, have style, and practice.
Before I began college I did not like writing. I believed writing was intended for authors and law
makers. I also believed that writing should not be taught. Those beliefs were so wrong, thankfully I
soon realized the importance of writing. Writing is a form of communication that can take everyone
too many places.
I want to be truthful, for me, writing was frustrating before I began college. Many times I had trouble
writing about anything. The main reason why I had so much trouble when writing, was because I did
not concentrate on my work enough. Even when I tried my hardest to concentrate, my mind seemed to
wonder around to different directions towards other thoughts. After my thoughts wondered, I forgot all
about my work and just thought about various things such as

Analysis Of Bachmann Gambling Addiction
Bachmann Gambling Addiction
In The Neurology of Free Will, Charles Duhigg puts a special importance on habits their inner
working and how they can change. Duhigg describes how habits work through the cycle of cue,
routine, and reward. Angie Bachmann from being a bored housewife to losing all her money through
uncontrollable gambling.
Angie Bachmann mother of 3 children, got addicted to gambling felt lonely at home, when her
husband went to work and children went to school. Bachmann had gotten married young and had
become pregnant almost right away. She had never held down a meaningful job. One morning, She
was sitting at home, staring at the television, so bored that she was giving serious thought to
reorganizing the silverware drawer (Duhigg). That morning the trouble began. She was really bored,
so at about noon, Bachmann drove to a riverboat casino. She played and lost 40 dollars. After that first
trip to the casino, Bachmann started going to the riverboat once a week. Then twice a week. Over the
next decade, Bachmann played regularly. She went whenever she fought with her husband or was just
bored. At the tables she was numb and excited, all at once. The high of winning was so immediate.
The pain of losing passed so fast. According to Duhigg states First, there is a cue, a trigger that tells
your brain to go into automatic mode. Then there is the routine the behavior itself which can be
physical or mental or emotional. Finally, there is a reward, which helps

While Levitra was thought to target a niche group of men with diabetes related illness, for which it
was safer than Viagra, it did not materialize to creating its own segmented market.
Cialis should be positioned as a Game Changer, and not so much as a competitor. While the two drugs
share the common goal of treating ED, they accomplish it in a much different manner and Cialis
should be touted as an upgrade from the first drug of its kind to enter the market in Viagra.
Viagra Facts: * Effects last 4 6 hours after dosing * Higher doses taken * Effects nullified if taken
with high fat meal leading to slower onset time
Cialis Advantage * Up to 36 hours of effectiveness * Lower dosing * Not affected by food intake *
Comparatively favorable safety profile * Not been linked to deaths
Cialis marketing has to take these advantages into account when going to market by playing off of
Viagra s weaker effects and potentially less flexible use by the patients.

Analysis Of Michael Harvey s The Hero Essay
WRITING ASSIGNMENT 2
Michael Barlow
Saint Leo University
When I think of a hero, I think of someone who is not only mentally strong, but has the endurance to
go the distance. We all have has some heroes in our lives. Just ask any kid these days who their hero
is. I am sure you will hear a familiar name such as, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman and the most
recent one my son says is the Avengers. They are the best superhero in the world, but I say to my son
what about all the hero that are no on the TV. He looks at me like I have lost my mind.
I look at the hero, and I see a broad variety of hero aside from the comic books, but in everyday
people that go through life doing the very same thing as we do. Not all hero s wear red capes and
masks to hide their identities. If you look at the day to day people like the fire department and the
police department, those are some of the best heroes. They volunteer every day to keep people out
harm s way while in most cases placing their own lives in jeopardy to save lives. Those people do
whatever it takes to get the job done with little to no recognition of what they have done besides the
self satisfaction and a pat on the back for a good job.
Another example of hero s that stands out to me would be the U.S. service members who are serving
in all branches of the military. These guys and gals are volunteers that decide to serve their country
from whatever the reason weather it was a family tradition or they sought the

The Effect Of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment
Abstract:
The emissions from two stroke outdoor power equipment, light terrestrial vehicles, and marine
vehicles are a significant detriment to air quality, human health, and the environment. Due to the
mechanical nature two stroke engines operations, engines running on fuel oil mixtures that have been
blended from biologically based oils generate far less Green House Gas emissions than two stroke
engines running fuel oil mixtures blended from more traditional petroleum based outdoor power
equipment oil. Preliminary results of previous research support the hypothesis that equipment running
on bio synthetic fuel oil blends emits drastically lower amounts of Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides,
and Carbon Monoxide than equipment operating exclusively on petroleum based fuel oil mixtures. In
addition, qualitative factors such as the color and smell of the exhaust fumes, and differences in engine
performance have also been monitored and recorded. These data have been gathered in two separate
and complimentary stages where the results were accumulated, condensed, and analyzed with the
objective of discovering differences in the emissions and engine performance of Outdoor Two Stroke
Power Equipment (OPE) running on petroleum based oil versus bio synthetic oil.

Terrorists And Transnational Organized Criminal Groups
Both terrorist and transnational organized criminal groups utilize illegal activities to further their
agendas and increase their coffers. Some of the methods employed are: kidnapping, drug trafficking,
and human trafficking. Recently these two groups have begun working together to accomplish their
goals. There has been evidence that organized crime groups have provided logistical support to
terrorists (Rollins Wyler, 2013). The collaboration of these two groups strengthens both groups
exponentially. But the organized crime groups, on most occasions, do not share the same ideological
views as the terrorist groups. They are in it for the money, and sometimes the risk of working with

The Physics Of Physical Therapy
The Physics in Physical Therapy Physical therapy has grown increasing more useful as the years
progress and more is learned about the human body and its movements, interactions, and mechanisms.
Someone may go to physical therapy for injury, recovery, in order to maintain function, or even due to
a stroke and is trying to work on walking again. Patients of a physical therapist can include, but is not
limited to, elderly, children, accident victims, athletes, those with conditions such as arthritis or
fractures, etc. The possibilities are endless for potential physical therapy patients (Mayo Clinic School
of Health Sciences). Physical therapy is the scientific physical procedures used in the treatment of
patients with a disability, disease, or injury to achieve and maintain function and to prevent
malfunction or deformity. One of the most important tasks that physical therapists perform is the
various forms of therapeutic exercise that are used to increase strength and endurance to improve
coordination and functional movement for activities of daily living and to increase and maintain range
of motion (APTA History). Some of the first known practices of physical therapy are from the early
Greek and Romans. They had writings that said both the sun and water were beneficial. The Chinese,
Persians, Egyptians, and Greeks said exercise and massage were beneficial. The first school of therapy
was established at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C. after World War I

Quaker Steel and Alloy Corporation ( Quaker ) is a US based producer of specialized metal alloys. It
predominantly addresses the high margin, high quality segment of the market, with little exposure to
low margin, high volume segments. Quaker is known for providing high quality sales, post sales and
technical service. This niche position has allowed it to maintain an ROE almost twice as high as its

She did not express correctly the need for change to the concerned person
Frye has not communicated in details and with transparency why the change as set in the plan action
was needed. Indeed, as Quaker s return on equity was twice as high as that of its nearest competitor,
since the 20 years, the need of change could not been interpreted as being obvious for everyone.
Therefore, this explains why regarding her memo addressing briefly the need of change the DSM

Benjamin Spock had a lot to do with it. Spock s first book, Baby and Child Care was first published in
1946 just in time for the baby boomer generation. In his book he spoke about feeding on demand,
respecting your children, the need for flexibility, and the lack of the necessity to worry about spoiling.
The paperback sold more than 50 million copies and was translated into 30 languages. Critics of
Spock claimed that he was the father of permissiveness. In later years, Spock claimed that he never
changed his basic philosopy on child care, that it was imperative to respect children because they re
human beings and they deserve respect. But he seemed to retreat somewhat from his teachings when
he made statements such as I ve always said ask for respect from your children, ask for cooperation,
ask for politeness. Give your children firm leadership. Years later, he beca me more moralistic and he
said that parents should give their children strong values and encourage them to help others. This is
only supposition, but I hypothesize that Spock may have decided that he didn t like what he saw in
society and realized that he may have played a part in the screwing up of generations. In later editions
of the book originally titled The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care, he stressed that
children needed standards and that parents also had a right to respect. He stated in his book

The United States And Soviet Union
Background
Since the end of World War II, long before the earliest events of the Heroes of Catholic Education
Series, a strange set of occurrences began to manifest itself as the United States and Soviet Union
faced each other as rivals in the subsequent Cold War. The Anomaly Phenomenon, a term denoting the
appearance of peculiar formations that defy scientific explanation, made its first appearance in the
small period of relative peace shortly after World War II, but before the Cold War and the formation of
NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Most people are unaware of it, sometimes out of ignorance and other
times because of government agencies seeking to prevent it from creating unnecessary civil disorder,
leaving only a few people who are aware of it.
With that being said, it is absurd for one to assert that the Anomaly Phenomenon itself is being
suppressed by someone, a group, an institution or a government. In fact, there are as many potential
customers willing to purchase Anomalies for large sums of money for the purpose of scientific
research. The scope of the ones interested in purchasing them from those who harvest them are usually
academics, universities, corporations, research groups, NGOs, governments, civilian and military
researchers, and even wealthy individuals willing to add them to their collections of rare curiosities.
To begin, in order to understand the Anomaly Phenomenon, one must first take in account the
definition of an Anomaly. Within the lore of the

The Single Leading Cause Of Disability Worldwide Is Low...
The single leading cause of disability worldwide is low back pain (LBP) (Salomon et al., 2013). In the
U.S, approximately 80 percent of adults experience back pain sometime in their life, with a total
health care expenditure of 90.7 billion in 1998 (Luo, Pietrobon, Sun, Liu, Hey, 2004). LBP is the
second most frequent systematic reason for visits to primary healthcare providers (Hart, Deyo,
Cherkin, 1995) and is usually recurrent with exacerbations that tend to increase in severity. The total
costs of LBP in the United States exceed $100 billion per year (Katz, 2006).
Within the Veteran population there are fifty to seventy percent affected with chronic pain (Krein et
al., 2010), with an annualized prevalence increase in the diagnosis of low back pain (LBP) of 4.8% per
year; larger than diabetes 4.4%, hypertension 4.1% and depression 3.8% (Sinnott Wagner, 2009). In
the primary healthcare setting, Veterans commonly present with acute or an exacerbation of chronic
LBP. The Veterans returning from Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans
cite pain specifically LBP as their most frequent complaint (Gironda, Clark, Massengale, Walker,
2006).
Low back pain is multidimensional, involving structural, mechanical, psychological and social
influences that ultimately results in a complex presentations. There are several clinical practice
guidelines for LBP evaluation and management to include the Quebec Task Force on Spinal Disorders

Neorealism As A Response Of Realism Theory Devised By Hans...
Neorealism in IR theory Neorealism has often been associated with Waltz (1979). Actually, neorealism
is a response of realism theory devised by Hans Morgenthau (1948), which assumes that all affecting
factors for cooperation and discord or peace and war are only under certain conditions (Keohane,
1986, p. 2 3). Neorealism has been the most prominent and influential approach in the field of IR
theory since the early 1980s. Mikhail Gorbachev and Kim Il Sung were the examples of leaders that
had neorealism approach in their foreign policy behavior (Malici, 2009, p. 132). Unlike realism,
neorealism assumes that world politics is an anarchy environment. Anarchy here means the absence of
centralized government (Waltz, 1979 ; Oye, 1985). In that sense, neorealism is an attempt to update
and modify the concept of realism theory in international politics (Aliyev, 2011). In its development,
neorealism experienced some additional concepts. These concepts are devised by many next
generations of neo realist scholars, e.g. Oye (1985), Keohane (1986), Buzan (1993), Jervis (1997), and
so forth with variations of definitions (Dibek, 2012). This essay uses the concept of neorealism from
Waltz and its modification from Oye. The basic concept is that cooperation can still be developed
under anarchy, or the absence of government, which associated with the occurrence of violence and
lead to conflict (Waltz, 1979, p. 102 128 ; Oye, 1985, p. 1 24). The cooperation in this essay refers to

Hillary Clinton Viewpoints
The Democratic and Republican Party primaries are over. America is left with two main candidates to
choose from in the upcoming U.S. presidential election this coming November: Donald Trump and
Hillary Clinton. As of right now, both candidates are still considered presumptive in their respective
parties until each party holds their national convention and officially nominates them. Barring a
Hillary Clinton indictment, one of those two will become the next president of the United States.
Gary Johnson, the Libertarian party presidential candidate, will not be elected as the next president.

has a major problem with illegal immigration. The reason the U.S. has a problem with illegal
immigration is because we have an administration and political party that allows it. The liberal
argument is that illegal immigrants contribute so much to our economy. But the truth is illegal
immigrants take more than they contribute. According to a study conducted by Federation for
American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in 2013, illegal immigrants cost U.S. tax payers $113 billion
while only contributing $1.27 billion. The majority of the $1.27 billion was in sales taxes from
purchasing consumer products. $84 billion of the $112 was from state and local tax dollars. The study
used examples of how different states are operating at a fiscal deficit compared to how much illegal
immigrants were costing the state. One example is California. California, facing a budget deficit of
$14.4 billion in 2010 2011, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal
aliens. On top of the tax and other financial burden, illegal immigrants are taking away blue collar and
unskilled jobs from Americans, leaving many American workers unemployed. Donald Trump plans to
stop illegal immigration by deporting illegal aliens and building a wall on the U.S Mexican border that
Mexico will pay for. Once again, this is not racist. It may be unfair to the illegal immigrants, but it is
not racist because of the enormous financial impact illegal immigrants has on

The nature of the good life from a philosophical point of view is not as simple as the typical picture
that may pop into one s head of lying on a beach in a tropical paradise sipping frozen daiquiris.
Depending on which type of ethical model you use will change the picture. For Thucydides his view
point seems to be that Might is Right versus Plato s Might for Right as well as a search for what is
right. Another way to differentiate the two would be to say one is for what I have the right to do and
that makes it right verses what is the right thing to do and what makes it right.
To determine whether the claims that Thucydides is making are ... Show more content on

He is clearly stating that one plus one is two. If we (the Athenians) attack, the Spartans are not going
to help you because based on our observations they are more about serving their interests than yours
(the Melians). Thucydides, further illustrates this by proving the Athenians were right in their
calculations of the situation. His story is not only empirical, they are a direct attack on normative
ethics. The Melians believed they knew what was right and that the Spartans would come to their aid
because they believed it was the right thing to do. But they were proven to be incorrect, supporting the
idea that this story was not only empirical but a disagreement in the validity of normative ethics.
Plato however I believe would have been on the side of the Melians in Thucydides story. Interestingly
enough Socrates would have died just as he does in his own story The Apology of placing all his
beliefs in normative ethics. In Plato s The Apology he begins his tale with a blatant normative
argument. He states that the Athenians assigned Socrates a post during a battle and that he stood his
ground and did not leave because he believed it was the right thing to do. By definition normative
ethics are ethics based on values. There is no way to measure values. Unlike a math equation there is
no right or wrong answer. What I believe to be true and just is not the same for all others. Plato goes

How Does Housing Affordability
2.1 Theoretical Literature concept of Housing Affordability
Yates, 2006, notes that other expenditure outcomes can also be reduse by housing affordability.
Housing consume a high proportion of household expenditure, the trade offs households are required
to make in order to meet their housing needs may mean they have inadequate resources to meet their
non housing needs (Yates, 2006).Specifically, the low income families devoting a large share of their
income to housing, often make sacrifices to meet their housing costs, such as going without food, or
children missing out on

Putting these three life modes into a house/home, or affordable housing perspective, one could relate
them as follows:
The first mode is self employed where means of production are owned and included within the
house. Therefore, the house serving as both living and working place, and no separation between
working time and space time.
The second mode is wage earner, where the house is either regarded as a primary place serving for
recreational purpose, or as a place where important spare time activities are undertaken. The third
mode is career oriented, where ideally the house reflect the personal progress in order to reflect
position, social status, and past and recent experiences.
Affordable housing and housing affordability have become the dominant and debated issues in the
housing policy arena all over the world for the last two decades and the term housing needs has been
replaced by housing affordability and has occupied the center of the debate on the provision of
adequate housing for all (Quigley, 2004; Swartz and Miller, 2002; Whitehead, 1991).
However, there is no precise or universal definition of

The World Is Bias Analysis
The world is biased whether some want to believe it or not. My own essay is biased.Whenever
someone is one sided we automatically accuse him or her of being quite prejudice. Humans are always
inclined to interpret situations in an individual way. People perceive each other in society fairly
critically and diminish traits by looking at someone s flaws. Although bias can be detectable, some
types of bias are hard to point out. We consistently categorize the world attempting to lose threats.
There is a variety of bias that is used in print media and also in person but why is that? How would we
be able to conquer this biases we have in society as it is? Firstly Homo sapiens especially are prone to

The Pros And Cons Of Stem Cells
INTRODUCTION
All organisms depend on stem cells for their survival. Accordingly, stem cells may be a requirement
for the evolution of specific characteristics in organisms that include regeneration, multicellularity and
coloniality (Chakraborty and Agoramoorthy, 2012). Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that are found
in the body which have the ability to continuously divide, self renew and differentiate into various
kinds of cells. The production of an engineered tissue in vitro requires the use of cells to populate
matrices and produce matrix resembling that of the native tissue (Howard, 2008). With the capability
of self renewal, pluripotency and differentiation, stem cells were believed to be useful in treating a
wide variety of diseases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stem cell study focusses on stem cells, which got the capacity of regenerating. A stem cell is highly
capable of emerging to other forms of cells like liver, kidney and heart cells. These cells are
circulating and functioning in order to substitute cells that are no longer functioning well. Stem cell
research carries with it sets of advantages and disadvantages that individuals need to be aware of.
Stem cell Pros
Offers a lot of medical benefits in the therapeutic sectors of regenerative medicine and cloning.
Stem cell research paved way for effective treatment discoveries.
Helps researchers know more about the growth of human cells and their development.
In future, stem cell study can permit the scientists to test some of possible medicines and drugs
without carrying out any test on animals and humans.
The stem cell therapy lets scientists study the developmental stages that cannot be known directly
through the human embryo and can be used in the treatment of a number of birth defects, infertility
problems and also pregnancy loss.
Stem cells can reverse effects of aging and lengthening life.
Stem cell therapy sets into use the cells of the patient s own body organs and henceforth the risk of
rejection can be reduced because the cells were belong to the same human body.

Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist
Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights to me. One of these
insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should distinguish the two ways of eating
Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to
and I thought the same as well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both.
However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a twofold division
between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my professor gave is if a mouse ate some
bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and because of that, it only participated in the physical
aspect of the Eucharist, but not with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread
and wine or there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A quote
from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the sacramental eating that
does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating, just as the imperfect, which does not
attain perfection of its species, is contrasted with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that
just by merely participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an
imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is receiving both the visible
and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong arguments against

Myth Of Sisyphus
In his essays in The Myth of Sisyphus, philosopher Albert Camus states that the only serious
philosophical question is whether or not one should commit suicide. When I first read this it sounded
absolutely absurd, however, after giving it persistent thought I have found that it is not as completely
insane as it may seem. It is a problem I have worked hard to achieve the answer to for the last few
months of my life. If you were to die right now at this exact moment in time simple deductive
reasoning demonstrates two possible things that might happen. In the first scenario, where you simply
cease to exist; nothing that has happened in your life matters because when you cease to exist you are
not able to experience anything you might

Analysis Of John Milton s Paradise Lost
In his epic, Paradise Lost, Milton entertains the reader with his version of how one of the greatest falls
of humanity occurred. Although many would consider God or Adam and Eve as the main characters in
a story like this, the main character of this epic is truly Satan. Satan is shown as a strong and powerful
character who is completely overwhelmed with emotions which create a type of hell in his mind; even
when he is in heaven, he cannot escape his true life. Satan s desire for vengeance on God s creation
not only unveils the personality of the protagonist but it also offers a glimpse into what the character
Adam is like.
The first quarter of Milton s great epic truly revolves around Satan s emotions and desires. Milton
does his best to help the reader find love for an evil character; he even mentions Satan crying in hopes
of having the reader feel sympathy for him. Satan s emotions are not only triggered by his feeling of
being below God but also his belief of being lower than The Son as well. The huge role the devil plays
throughout the story can be observed in one of the first descriptions of the beast. Milton compares the
size of the sinner to an island by describing that, The pilot of some small night foundered skiff,
deeming some island, oft, as seamen tell (Pg 15 lines 204 206). Not only is Satan a giant, but he also
has a strong personality which can be observed in his actions. After falling from heaven, Satan even
makes a bold statement stating To do aught

  • 2. Philanthropy Reader By John Rockfeller #2 In the book Philanthropy reader , a variety of philanthropy philosophies are discussed; However, in this class, we have talked about three different types of philanthropy, the types of philanthropy are Effective altruism, philanthropic locals, and conservative philanthropy. Personally, I believe that if every individual has the same philanthropy mindset, all of these would be successful and solve social problems that the world is facing. Obviously, in today s society, everyone has their beliefs and support a different kind of philanthropy. Personally, I am a supporter of all three ideologies, because I think they go hand in hand. What I mean with hand in hand is the fact that we all should start with taking care of ourselves and family before we start taking care of others. In the book philanthropy reader, John Rockfeller argues about The difficult art of giving , and he states: If people can be educated to help themselves, we strike at the root of many of the evils in the world (412). This shows that philanthropy starts by taking care of yourself, and when people manage to look out for themselves, they can start looking out for other people as well. When it ... A problem in today s society, is the fact that people do not give to help the people in need, they donate to make themselves look good, and that is wrong. My reason for giving would be similar to Bill Gates, because he found an issue that could help the most amount of people, and invested in it. If I would give my money to a charity, it would be to a charity that I feel passionate about, because if I feel passionate about something, I would put my heart and soul in it to make a significant ... • 5. The Stereotypes Of Top Gear In 1997 the first episode of Top Gear was launched, at that time it was a conventional motoring magazine show. However, after the 2002 relaunch, the show has made a huge transformation into a more humorous and controversial show. With an estimated 350 million views per week in 170 different countries, Top Gear is a fine example of how mass media is used to persuade and inform large audiences, conveying many ideas both motor related, and non motor related. The show has been made famous by three iconic presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, for their obnoxious manner and use of language, speaking their minds without thinking twice about offending any potential viewers. Over the years, their comments have offended multiple racial groups, from American to Germans, as well as viewers of different genders. Top Gear is a show watched by many for its comedic value, entertainment, and highly opinionated views. However, many of the comments made by Top Gear are highly offensive and inappropriate to the extent where even those not concerned by the comments feel disgusted or compassion. However, hypocrisy is common amongst viewers as many will laugh at the stereotypes of others whilst feeling insulted from comments relating to themselves. Top Gear isn t a show for everyone, but those who are easily offended should maintain their distance from the issues raised from the brash, cocky and arrogant style of the trio. The style of Top Gear s humor is frowned upon and seen as cheap and unacceptable by many in today s society. The company has become so outdated that it may be better for the company to begin from scratch. For example the poor logistics and layout of the factory which means that the cars have to be manually moved around the factory from one stage to another. The works study will highlight the areas that need to be improved by the business, and how they can be improved, for example the car is predominantly made by hand, can be improved by the incorporation of tooling which is likely to make little difference to the nature and finished quality of the product. • 7. Any Farming is Good Farming Essay Any Farming is Good Farming In the future you will go to the grocery store and pay $15 a pound for Pork, and $20 a pound for Beef. World hunger outside the United States will be running rampant because of an inadequate food supply. Houses will start to pop up on all of the United States prime farmland. If we continue to bash corporate farming, this is the world we would be looking at. Family farms would thrive because there is little competition. The world as a whole would suffer because the small farms in the United States could no longer supply the world, let alone its own citizens, with food. The farming industry as a whole is failing and that is why we see family farms disappearing from the landscape of America. America has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The leader of the National Family Farm Coalition, Bill Cristison states, There needs to be a far greater understanding in this country about the important role of family farmers in providing for our nations food supply and food security (Christison). The truth is family farms do not produce enough goods to support the demand in the United States. People can t see that we need corporate farming and it is a good thing for the national government to support any type of farming. In my mind, Cristison must not want to support farming at all because he rejects the 2002 Farm Bill. Cristison states, Representative Larry Combest, the House Agriculture Committee chairman, has said publicly that the winners of this Farm Bill are American farmers. I strongly disagree. The winners of this farm bill are corporate agribusiness (Christison). This bill was going to deliver income to farms through the taxpayer. This would make up for losses that ANY farmer may take. Why would Cristison be against this if he is for farming? Family farms are getting the money as well. This bill is very fair; if you have a larger farm you will receive more money. That is how it should work, much like taxes in a sense that you pay based on the size of your income. This bill was the only logical agreement reached by the national government on how to help its farmers. I know exactly what people in this country want to see when they think of agriculture. They want to see their next door neighbor out on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our large sheep population means that we are ranked tenth in the nation for all sheep and lambs. With those statistics in mind, it is important to have knowledge about this part of our agricultural industry in Iowa. Sheep are raised to either breed or sell. The ram and ewes are usually penned together from September through early November. In this time frame, the hope is that each ewe will cycle and get bred by the ram. As a result of the breeding time, lambing season ranges from February to April. Market sheep are born from breeding sheep. The owner may have decided that they would not need another ram or ewe for the next year s sheep herd. Market sheep are raised to be sold when they have reached their prime. Local market sheep are frequently sold in late August. At this time, the wethers and ewes weigh anywhere from 130 to 170 pounds. Sheep are most commonly purchased by the pound. In recent years, market sheep have sold for around one dollar and fifty cents per pound. • 9. Writing As A Tool That Everyone Can Benefit From Good... I have become to notice, through my English 1101 class, that writing well is a tool that everyone can benefit from. Good writers will tell of an occasion in which their talent has earned them advancement; an advancement that comes to play not only in the job market but also for personal satisfaction. Fortunately, writing is a skill that can be practiced to a point at which near flawlessness is reached. The many sides of writing can seem quite overwhelming to the novice, like myself. The aspect of writing that most people are unaware of is the fact that it is actually broken down into just a few basic principles. Those principles are, be clear, be yourself, have correct grammar, have style, and practice. Before I began college I did not like writing. I believed writing was intended for authors and law makers. I also believed that writing should not be taught. Those beliefs were so wrong, thankfully I soon realized the importance of writing. Writing is a form of communication that can take everyone too many places. I want to be truthful, for me, writing was frustrating before I began college. Many times I had trouble writing about anything. The main reason why I had so much trouble when writing, was because I did not concentrate on my work enough. Even when I tried my hardest to concentrate, my mind seemed to wonder around to different directions towards other thoughts. After my thoughts wondered, I forgot all about my work and just thought about various things such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then twice a week. Over the next decade, Bachmann played regularly. She went whenever she fought with her husband or was just bored. At the tables she was numb and excited, all at once. The high of winning was so immediate. The pain of losing passed so fast. According to Duhigg states First, there is a cue, a trigger that tells your brain to go into automatic mode. Analysis Of Michael Harvey s The Hero Essay WRITING ASSIGNMENT 2 Michael Barlow Saint Leo University When I think of a hero, I think of someone who is not only mentally strong, but has the endurance to go the distance. We all have has some heroes in our lives. Just ask any kid these days who their hero is. I am sure you will hear a familiar name such as, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman and the most recent one my son says is the Avengers. They are the best superhero in the world, but I say to my son what about all the hero that are no on the TV. He looks at me like I have lost my mind. I look at the hero, and I see a broad variety of hero aside from the comic books, but in everyday people that go through life doing the very same thing as we do. Not all hero s wear red capes and masks to hide their identities. If you look at the day to day people like the fire department and the police department, those are some of the best heroes. They volunteer every day to keep people out harm s way while in most cases placing their own lives in jeopardy to save lives. Those people do whatever it takes to get the job done with little to no recognition of what they have done besides the self satisfaction and a pat on the back for a good job. Another example of hero s that stands out to me would be the U.S. service members who are serving in all branches of the military. The Effect Of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment Abstract: The emissions from two stroke outdoor power equipment, light terrestrial vehicles, and marine vehicles are a significant detriment to air quality, human health, and the environment. Due to the mechanical nature two stroke engines operations, engines running on fuel oil mixtures that have been blended from biologically based oils generate far less Green House Gas emissions than two stroke engines running fuel oil mixtures blended from more traditional petroleum based outdoor power equipment oil. Preliminary results of previous research support the hypothesis that equipment running on bio synthetic fuel oil blends emits drastically lower amounts of Hydrocarbons, Nitrogen Oxides, and Carbon Monoxide than equipment operating exclusively on petroleum based fuel oil mixtures. In addition, qualitative factors such as the color and smell of the exhaust fumes, and differences in engine performance have also been monitored and recorded. These data have been gathered in two separate and complimentary stages where the results were accumulated, condensed, and analyzed with the objective of discovering differences in the emissions and engine performance of Outdoor Two Stroke Power Equipment (OPE) running on petroleum based oil versus bio synthetic oil. The Physics Of Physical Therapy The Physics in Physical Therapy Physical therapy has grown increasing more useful as the years progress and more is learned about the human body and its movements, interactions, and mechanisms. Someone may go to physical therapy for injury, recovery, in order to maintain function, or even due to a stroke and is trying to work on walking again. Patients of a physical therapist can include, but is not limited to, elderly, children, accident victims, athletes, those with conditions such as arthritis or fractures, etc. The possibilities are endless for potential physical therapy patients (Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences). Physical therapy is the scientific physical procedures used in the treatment of patients with a disability, disease, or injury to achieve and maintain function and to prevent malfunction or deformity. One of the most important tasks that physical therapists perform is the various forms of therapeutic exercise that are used to increase strength and endurance to improve coordination and functional movement for activities of daily living and to increase and maintain range of motion (APTA History). Some of the first known practices of physical therapy are from the early Greek and Romans. They had writings that said both the sun and water were beneficial. The Anomaly Phenomenon, a term denoting the appearance of peculiar formations that defy scientific explanation, made its first appearance in the small period of relative peace shortly after World War II, but before the Cold War and the formation of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Most people are unaware of it, sometimes out of ignorance and other times because of government agencies seeking to prevent it from creating unnecessary civil disorder, leaving only a few people who are aware of it. In the U.S, approximately 80 percent of adults experience back pain sometime in their life, with a total health care expenditure of 90.7 billion in 1998 (Luo, Pietrobon, Sun, Liu, Hey, 2004). LBP is the second most frequent systematic reason for visits to primary healthcare providers (Hart, Deyo, Cherkin, 1995) and is usually recurrent with exacerbations that tend to increase in severity. • 23. Neorealism As A Response Of Realism Theory Devised By Hans... Neorealism in IR theory Neorealism has often been associated with Waltz (1979). Actually, neorealism is a response of realism theory devised by Hans Morgenthau (1948), which assumes that all affecting factors for cooperation and discord or peace and war are only under certain conditions (Keohane, 1986, p. 2 3). Neorealism has been the most prominent and influential approach in the field of IR theory since the early 1980s. Mikhail Gorbachev and Kim Il Sung were the examples of leaders that had neorealism approach in their foreign policy behavior (Malici, 2009, p. 132). Unlike realism, neorealism assumes that world politics is an anarchy environment. Anarchy here means the absence of centralized government (Waltz, 1979 ; Oye, 1985). In that sense, neorealism is an attempt to update and modify the concept of realism theory in international politics (Aliyev, 2011). In its development, neorealism experienced some additional concepts. These concepts are devised by many next generations of neo realist scholars, e.g. Oye (1985), Keohane (1986), Buzan (1993), Jervis (1997), and so forth with variations of definitions (Dibek, 2012). This essay uses the concept of neorealism from Waltz and its modification from Oye. The basic concept is that cooperation can still be developed under anarchy, or the absence of government, which associated with the occurrence of violence and lead to conflict (Waltz, 1979, p. 102 128 ; Oye, 1985, p. 1 24). The reason the U.S. has a problem with illegal immigration is because we have an administration and political party that allows it. According to a study conducted by Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in 2013, illegal immigrants cost U.S. tax payers $113 billion while only contributing $1.27 billion. The majority of the $1.27 billion was in sales taxes from purchasing consumer products. $84 billion of the $112 was from state and local tax dollars. For Thucydides his view point seems to be that Might is Right versus Plato s Might for Right as well as a search for what is right. If we (the Athenians) attack, the Spartans are not going to help you because based on our observations they are more about serving their interests than yours (the Melians). Thucydides, further illustrates this by proving the Athenians were right in their calculations of the situation. His story is not only empirical, they are a direct attack on normative ethics. The Melians believed they knew what was right and that the Spartans would come to their aid because they believed it was the right thing to do. But they were proven to be incorrect, supporting the idea that this story was not only empirical but a disagreement in the validity of normative ethics. Plato however I believe would have been on the side of the Melians in Thucydides story. Interestingly enough Socrates would have died just as he does in his own story The Apology of placing all his beliefs in normative ethics. In Plato s The Apology he begins his tale with a blatant normative argument. He states that the Athenians assigned Socrates a post during a battle and that he stood his ground and did not leave because he believed it was the right thing to do. • 31. Reflective Beliefs Of AquinasTeaching On The Eucharist Aquinas teaching on the Eucharist has offered many new and distinctive insights to me. One of these insights is when Aquinas asks the question whether one should distinguish the two ways of eating Christ s body. The two ways are spiritually and sacramentally. His opponents argue there is no need to and I thought the same as well, because eating the bread and drinking the wine would encompass both. However, after reading Aquinas I answer , it became clear to me that there is a twofold division between the sacrament itself and the effect of it. An example my professor gave is if a mouse ate some bread and wine. The mouse is not mindful and because of that, it only participated in the physical aspect of the Eucharist, but not with its effect. You must be mindful to appreciate the symbols of bread and wine or there will be more harm than good if you are not attentive of what God is doing. A quote from Aquinas that helped me understand this better is when he says, but the sacramental eating that does not secure the effect is contrasted with spiritual eating, just as the imperfect, which does not attain perfection of its species, is contrasted with the perfect (ST 3.80.1). What he means by this is that just by merely participating in the sacrament alone without the effect is like doing something in an imperfect way. The perfect way of doing this is by complete eating, which is receiving both the visible and invisible effects. Aquinas also offers some strong arguments against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Analysis Of John Milton s Paradise Lost In his epic, Paradise Lost, Milton entertains the reader with his version of how one of the greatest falls of humanity occurred. Although many would consider God or Adam and Eve as the main characters in a story like this, the main character of this epic is truly Satan. Satan is shown as a strong and powerful character who is completely overwhelmed with emotions which create a type of hell in his mind; even when he is in heaven, he cannot escape his true life. Satan s desire for vengeance on God s creation not only unveils the personality of the protagonist but it also offers a glimpse into what the character Adam is like. The first quarter of Milton s great epic truly revolves around Satan s emotions and desires. Milton does his best to help the reader find love for an evil character; he even mentions Satan crying in hopes of having the reader feel sympathy for him. Satan s emotions are not only triggered by his feeling of being below God but also his belief of being lower than The Son as well. The huge role the devil plays throughout the story can be observed in one of the first descriptions of the beast. Milton compares the size of the sinner to an island by describing that, The pilot of some small night foundered skiff, deeming some island, oft, as seamen tell (Pg 15 lines 204 206).
