Working Title
Pop Punk Central
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
I have decided to aim my product at people aged 18-24, I have chosen this age range because
after doing research on existing magazines of different music genres I have found that they have
set their target audience to this age range also. I have also decided to make my product
accessible to any age range, also have my product accessible to both males and females, as the
genre I plan to base my magazine on music that can be listened to by any gender. I have also
decided to make my product accessible to all social statues, although my product will most likely
appeal to the working class, as that sort of the image pop punk carries.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Rationale: Looking back at the year and the work I have done, I feel as if I have learnt a lot of
different new skills in different areas such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro. The work I have done
has played a part in helping make my decision on what to base my magazines genre on, at the
beginning of the year I created a poster based on the drink Irn-Bru, doing that piece of work has
helped me learn more about different types of software and also the general workings of a
magazine. I also learnt more about target groups, colour schemes, blobs and stars and cover
lines. This will have a direct impact on the product I am about to make because I will take away all
the different skills I have learnt.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
I am going to be making a magazine based upon the music genre Pop Punk, in order for me to do
this successfully, I will need to research a number of different aspects. I will need to research
existing magazines that are based on this genre, I will also need to research the target audience
that these magazines aim at. I will also research the colour schemes used on the magazines, the
language and writing style that is used. By research all of these different aspects this will allow me
to create something new and original and also gain inspiration from all of these areas.

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
When I come to evaluate my work I will look back at all of the stages and see how I could improve
and expand, for example when it came to evaluating my research I look at different aspects of
each magazine. I make sure I analyse my work after each stage and look at the strengths and
weaknesses of each area and what I thought went well and didn’t go so well. I also speak about
what I would change or do more of in a certain area if I had been given more time. I evaluate my
work in a number of different ways. I will utilise tutor and peer feedback that I have been given
based upon my work.
