Organizing
• is the function of management that involves
developing an organizational structure and
allocating human resources to ensure the
accomplishment of objectives. The structure
of the organization is the framework within
which effort is coordinated.

• Organizing also involves the design of
individual jobs within the organization.
Decisions made about the structure of an
organization are generally referred to
as organizational design decisions.

• Organizing is the management function that
follows after planning, it involves the
assignment of tasks, the grouping of tasks into
departments and the assignment of authority
with adequate responsibility and allocation of
resources across the organization to achieve

Characteristics of Organizing
• Division of Labour: Work is assigned to the
employee who is specialized in that work.
• Coordination: Different members of
the organization are given different tasks to
perform when all the tasks are put together
logically and sequentially, it results in the
objectives, so coordination is required.
• Objectives: Objectives need to be specifically
defined.
• Authority-Responsibility Structure: For an effective
authority responsibility structure, the position of
each manager and executive is specified, as per the
degree of the authority and responsibility assigned
to them, while performing the duties.
• Communication: The techniques, flow and
importance of communication must be known to all
the members.
Process of Organizing
• Identification and division of work: Organizing
process begins with identifying the work and dividing
them as per the plans. Basically, the work is classified
into different manageable activities, to avoid
redundancy, and sharing of work is encouraged.
• Departmentalization: After classifying the work into
different activities, the activities having a similar
nature are grouped together. This process is called as
departmentalization which facilitates specialization
and forms the basis for creating departments.
• Assignment of the task: Employees are assigned the jobs as
per their skills, qualifications and competencies. For the
effectiveness of the performance, the manager must ensure
that there is a proper match between the job and the
incumbent, i.e. the right person has to be placed at the right
job.
• Establishment of organizational hierarchy: Deployment of
work is not all, the employees must be aware of whom they
have to report and who can give them orders. Hence, work
relationships need to be established clearly, which helps in
the creation of a hierarchical structure of the organization.
• Provision of resources to the members:
Arrangement and deployment of resources such as
money, materials, supplies, and machine, etc. which
are important to carry out day to day operations of
the organization.
• Coordination of efforts and scheduling of activities:
The final step to this process is the coordination of
efforts and scheduling the activities in a logical and
systematic manner so that the common objectives
can be achieved effectively.
SCHOOL ORGANIZATION
• refers to how schools arrange the resources of time,
space, and personnel for maximum effect on student
learning.
• a part of educational process in the country. A well
organized school is the backbone of the education.

Organization
• defined as the necessary combination of
human efforts, material equipments brought
together in a systematic and effective
correlation to accomplish the desired
results.(Valand,2010)
Characteristics of School Organization
• Simplicity:there should be clarity of roles,
duties, responsibilities and powers on the part
of each person working in a school
• Dynamism/Flexibility: any kind of change can take
place without disturbing any other activity. he
rules and regulations should be flexible to meet
the needs of the school.
• Stability: should be dynamic but it does not
mean that it should be in fluid condition
without any norm or standard rules and
regulations
• Clarity about Powers and Duties: There should
be clear understanding of the powers and
duties of individuals working together in a
school.
• Coordination: there should coordination between
different activities and also coordination between
physical resources and human resources.
• Acceptance of human elements: personnel
should be free to express their feelings, opinions,
offer constructive suggestions and bring about
healthy changes in the school
• Control: the element which puts a break to an
activity and then evaluates the results.

• It is very mucg necessary to ensure smooth
functioning of a school
• Necessary to avoid under and over utilization
of the resources of a school there by ensuring
optimum and judicious use of the resources
• To make the best use of the capabilities of
school personnel
• To save time, increase clarity and efficiency of
work
• To achieve the aims and objectives of a school
smoothly
• To create a professional image of a school
• It lays stress on building relationships among
the school personnel thereby helps in
increasing mutual trust, interdependency
which is necessary to build team spirit among
the school personnel
Conclusion
• School Organization means looking after the internal and external
affairs of the school, the proper use of the resources available and
taking proper cared of the resources so that teaching and learning
can take place in a better way. It concerned with the system in
which the headmaster, the teacher, the students and other related
person come as a team to undertake the task of running school on
sound lines.
• Hence, by School Organization, we mean the act of organizing all
available physical and human resources in an organized manner to
attain the objectives of education.

  • 2. Organizing • is the function of management that involves developing an organizational structure and allocating human resources to ensure the accomplishment of objectives. The structure of the organization is the framework within which effort is coordinated. (https://open.lib.umn.edu/)
  • 3. • Organizing also involves the design of individual jobs within the organization. Decisions made about the structure of an organization are generally referred to as organizational design decisions. (https://open.lib.umn.edu/

Therefore….. • Organizing is the management function that follows after planning, it involves the assignment of tasks, the grouping of tasks into departments and the assignment of authority with adequate responsibility and allocation of resources across the organization to achieve common goals.(https://en.wikipedia.org/)
  • 6. • Division of Labour: Work is assigned to the employee who is specialized in that work. • Coordination: Different members of the organization are given different tasks to perform when all the tasks are put together logically and sequentially, it results in the objectives, so coordination is required.
  • 7. • Objectives: Objectives need to be specifically defined. • Authority-Responsibility Structure: For an effective authority responsibility structure, the position of each manager and executive is specified, as per the degree of the authority and responsibility assigned to them, while performing the duties. • Communication: The techniques, flow and importance of communication must be known to all the members.
  • 9. • Identification and division of work: Organizing process begins with identifying the work and dividing them as per the plans. Basically, the work is classified into different manageable activities, to avoid redundancy, and sharing of work is encouraged. • Departmentalization: After classifying the work into different activities, the activities having a similar nature are grouped together. This process is called as departmentalization which facilitates specialization and forms the basis for creating departments.
  • 10. • Assignment of the task: Employees are assigned the jobs as per their skills, qualifications and competencies. For the effectiveness of the performance, the manager must ensure that there is a proper match between the job and the incumbent, i.e. the right person has to be placed at the right job. • Establishment of organizational hierarchy: Deployment of work is not all, the employees must be aware of whom they have to report and who can give them orders. Hence, work relationships need to be established clearly, which helps in the creation of a hierarchical structure of the organization.
  • 11. • Provision of resources to the members: Arrangement and deployment of resources such as money, materials, supplies, and machine, etc. which are important to carry out day to day operations of the organization. • Coordination of efforts and scheduling of activities: The final step to this process is the coordination of efforts and scheduling the activities in a logical and systematic manner so that the common objectives can be achieved effectively.

  • 13. SCHOOL ORGANIZATION • refers to how schools arrange the resources of time, space, and personnel for maximum effect on student learning. • a part of educational process in the country. A well organized school is the backbone of the education. (Rajendran, 2017)
  • 14. Organization • defined as the necessary combination of human efforts, material equipments brought together in a systematic and effective correlation to accomplish the desired results.(Valand,2010)

Characteristics of School Organization • Simplicity:there should be clarity of roles, duties, responsibilities and powers on the part of each person working in a school • Dynamism/Flexibility: any kind of change can take place without disturbing any other activity. he rules and regulations should be flexible to meet the needs of the school.
  • 16. • Stability: should be dynamic but it does not mean that it should be in fluid condition without any norm or standard rules and regulations • Clarity about Powers and Duties: There should be clear understanding of the powers and duties of individuals working together in a school.
  • 17. • Coordination: there should coordination between different activities and also coordination between physical resources and human resources. • Acceptance of human elements: personnel should be free to express their feelings, opinions, offer constructive suggestions and bring about healthy changes in the school
  • 18. • Control: the element which puts a break to an activity and then evaluates the results.

Conclusion • School Organization means looking after the internal and external affairs of the school, the proper use of the resources available and taking proper cared of the resources so that teaching and learning can take place in a better way. It concerned with the system in which the headmaster, the teacher, the students and other related person come as a team to undertake the task of running school on sound lines. • Hence, by School Organization, we mean the act of organizing all available physical and human resources in an organized manner to attain the objectives of education.
