This document discusses three abnormalities of lens shape: 1) Lenticonus, which is an axial bulge of the posterior or anterior lens that can be unilateral and sporadic or bilateral and familial/associated with Lowe syndrome. 2) Coloboma, which is a defect in the iris, choroid, or retina that can be associated with giant retinal tears. 3) A small lens, which can be microphakia with a small diameter or microspherophakia with a small spherical diameter, and may be familial or associated with Lowe or Weill-Marchesani syndrome.
