This document outlines the goals and methods for a Mandarin parent night class. It will use a comprehensible input teaching method with compelling, student-centered materials infused with life lessons to get students comprehending and moving in the language. Enrichment opportunities will allow students to use their Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge, while homework is designed to push students to get more independent language practice. Areas for improvement include classroom management and more frequent assessment with feedback to help students learn about themselves and the world through learning Mandarin.
