This document provides guidelines for the prevention, detection, evaluation, and management of high blood pressure in adults. It was published in 2017 by several medical organizations including the American College of Cardiology Foundation and American Heart Association. The guidelines include recommendations on accurate blood pressure measurement, out-of-office monitoring, treatment targets, drug therapy options, screening for secondary causes of hypertension, and management of related conditions like sleep apnea.
