ITWomen is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing, advocating for, and developing women in technology fields. It has served over 2,700 girls through its role model speaker program and awarded 26 scholarships. While women make up over half the professional workforce, they hold less than 26% of computing jobs and 13% of corporate officer positions at tech companies. Fewer girls take advanced computer science classes in high school and women earn only 14% of computer science degrees, down from 37% in 1985. ITWomen aims to address these issues through its role model speaker program in schools and by establishing the first ITWomen high school chapter.
