2. This proforma is to record how you worked on your production
You should complete this each week during production
Consider all relevant areas that you covered that week
Think about what worked/what didn’t work/how you can improve
and actions for the following sessions/weeks
3. The first week was the time during which we did the Initial Plans powerpoint, planting the seeds
of our project. During this phase we dissected and analysed the initial reaction we had towards
the brief we were presented with, and postulated on what we could do with it. To better structure
our ideas we used mind maps to energise our creative processes, thinking up multiple scenarios
that would fit with the themes of the project, and then using mood boards to stabilise and build up
the concept we had in mind. I enjoyed this stage, as it allowed us the greatest amount of freedom
in the design of the project, and we were not constrained by our own limits.
4. This week was the research phase of the project, in which we were expected to capitalise on the
resources available to us to further develop our ideas. This included primary research, such as
surveys filled out by classmates, or information readily accessible through public sources such as
the internet. While I didn’t overtly dislike this stage, I did find it somewhat monotonous at times,
especially when I had to wait on people to complete the surveys I had sent out.
5. This was the planning phase of the project, by far the most in-depth aspect, and one of the most
necessary. The two areas we focused on were the formal proposal and pre-production, in which
we were challenged to finally iron out all of the kinks that had arisen or may disrupt production.
This was the area that I enjoyed the least, in that it contributed most of the stress that I felt, but
was nonetheless needed for the successful completion of the project.
6. This was the big production stage of the project, where all that we had worked for culminated into
a single week to pull it off right. Using cameras and audio recorders, we played out the scenes
that we had devised in our planning stages. These often required multiple takes in order to get
right, but which ultimately enhanced the overall quality of the product. While filming was
somewhat stressful, I did find it to be a fun experience, and acted as an outlet for all of the stress
and worry that had accumulated over the past few weeks.
