This document discusses energy optimization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using a new hierarchical routing protocol that combines cluster-based and chain-based approaches to reduce energy consumption. The proposed protocol aims to improve data delivery efficiency and prolong the lifespan of the network by minimizing transmission distances and employing collaborative data aggregation. Performance evaluations through simulations indicate that the hybrid protocol demonstrates notable improvements in network longevity compared to existing protocols like LEACH and PEGASIS.
