The knowledge economy is the use of knowledge (savoir, savoir-faire, savoir-etre) to generate tangible and intangible values. Technology and in particular knowledge technology (Artificial Intelligence) help to transform a part of human knowledge to machines. Previous eras were defined first by the raw materials that transformed them — the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, then they were characterized by the domains people conquered with ever-improving technology — the Industrial Age, Space Age and Information Age. Now we're entering a new age: The Human Age. Manpower confirms that this is the new reality and it has significant implications both for employers and for individuals, as human potential now becomes the major agent of economic growth. Manpower Group Talent Mobility White Paper Jun2011Andrea Hubbert
In the Human Age, talent mobility—moving people to where the work is—must be one component of a coordinated public-private response to the talent mismatch. While the topic is a political lightning rod in this period of continuing high unemployment, it’s important to recognize that talent mobility is a proven way to address many pressing business needs. And talent mobility is not solely about bringing in foreign workers; it’s also about moving domestic talent within national borders to balance supply and demand in the labor market. Please contact me for more information.
The latest volume of ideas@work explores critical issues and best practices in talent management.
Two of our papers focus on today’s volatile and constantly changing business environment. Developing Leaders in a VUCA Environment provides talent managers with ideas, guidance, and examples on how to address the shift needed in leadership development to adapt to the new normal, while Building a Resilient Organizational Culture focuses on how to cultivate and nurture a culture of resilience at all levels of the organization.
This volume also features a chapter from what’s been called the “talent management bible” - Marc Effron’s and Miriam Ort’s “One Page Talent Management”. This practical, science based guide to accelerating talent growth has become a best seller in talent management circles, and the chapter we’ve included outlines the barriers to building talent and the philosophy for successful talent development based on simplicity, accountability, and transparency.
The other two white papers included in this volume examine new trends in talent development. Got Game? The Use of Gaming in Learning and Development takes a serious look at how gaming technology can be used to develop organizational talent. The Big Data Talent Gap explores the talent implications of the big data revolution.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SECTOR IN INDIA: A S...IAEME Publication
During the last century, the world has undergone a change from an agriculture society, where natural labour was the critical factor, to an industrial society where the management of technology, capital and labour provided the competitive advantage. In the 21st century, a new society is emerging where knowledge is the primary production resource instead of capital and labour. Effective utilization of this existing knowledge can create comprehensive wealth for the nation in the form of better health, education, infrastructure and other social indicators.
Investigations were carried out to see the effect of pesticide 'companion' on the proximal composition and enzyme namely amylase, GOT and GPT of whole green gram in the early stages of germination. The findings revealed that the pesticides increase the enzyme activity in the early stages of germination and thus increase the metabolic rate. The Vitamin-C content was also enhanced with the use of pesticide, but there was a decrease in the proximal composition of the gram when treated with pesticide.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
