1. Test Evaluation and Accreditation Measurements need a well
planned scientific method for effective and efficient results and
therefore, the Measurement must be dealt as an advanced
science.
2. The acronym LETS may be remembered for avoiding any neglect
or Measurements’ Science, the initials make the Acronym TEAMS
or TEAM Scienceoverlooking of any step of Measurement sciene.
3. LETS stands for Landmarks, Equipment needed,
Technique/Procedures and valid evaluation Standards.
4. All tests, evaluations, accreditations involve scientific readings or
measurements. Hence the use of the term TEAM Science which
may be detailed as mentioned below :-
A. Test tool Measurement.
B. Evaluation tool Measurement
C. Accreditation tool Measurement or Test Evaluation Accreditation
Measurements Science, the initial letters make the acronym as
TEAMS.
 The learners should be able to understand:
 The meanings and application of TEAM
Science and their details with confidence
and remember that it is the most important
quality of physical and balanced
Vivekananda’s balanced education of Body,
Mind, Heart , Soul and Personality
development.
 The learners should be able to distinguish
between test, Measurement, Evaluation and
Accreditation , and should also understand
the inter-relationship and sequence of these
parts of TEAM Science.
 TEST = A TOOL = AN INSTUMENT,For
Example , a Weighing Macine.
 MEASUREMENT = A READING ON USING
A TEST.
 EVALUATION = COMPARISION WITH A
STANDARD,To interpret the value of a
reading.
 ACCREDITATION = GRADING certificate awarded
based on multiple evaluations, measurements using large
number of tests.
“EVALUATION IS A VALID TOOL FOR
MEASUREMENT ONLY IF APPLIED ON
STANDARDIZED VALID, OBJECTIVE &
RELIABLE SCIENTIFIC TESTS USED FOR
OBTAINING MEASUREMENT READINGS”.
- DEVINDER K. KANSAL
(09.02.2008 AT 4.00 AM)
TEST AND MEASUREMENT IS A REPEATED
COMBINATION & PERMUTATION OF SIMPLE
STEPS OF USING INSTRUMENT (TEST) FOR
GETTING A MEASUREMENT AND THEN APPLYING
MEAN AND STANDARD DEVIATION PRINCIPLES TO
EVALUATE COMPARATIVE STATUS BEFORE AND
AFTER TEACHING/TRAINING OF INDIVIDUALS
AND GROUPS SO AS TO EXAMINE THE
ACHIEVEMENTS MADE FOR THE PROGRESS DONE,
WITH THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING/TEACHING, SO
OFTEN IGNORED IN ROUTINE MONITORING
PROCESS.
- DEVINDER K. KANSAL
9.2.2008 : 3.50 A.M.
THE SIMPLE STEPS OF DETERMINING STATUS,
MAKING COMPARISIONS FOR JUDGEMENTS AND
CONCLUSIONS, GIVE RISE TO SEA OF DATA
WHICH MAKE TO LOOK THE TEST AND
MEASUREMENT PROCESS A QUITE
COMPLICATED AND DIFFICULT SUBJECT.
THIS IS SO, MAINLY DUE TO LESSER EMPHASIS
GIVEN TO CONCEPTS, AND DIRECTLY TAKING
UP THE JOB OF EVALUATION ALONG WITH THE
TECHNICAL COMPLEXITIES OF MEASUREMENT
BY USING COMPLEX INVALID TESTS (AS USED BY
NAAC) FOR ACCREDITATION OF UNIVERSITIES.
- DEVINDER K. KANSAL
(31.1.2008 : 8.40 P.M.)
 ACCREDITATION
 It is awarding certificate of competence
after thorogh testing and evaluation of an
institution for the performance of the
activity for which it is being accredited.
 However ,NAAC is accrediting universities
without any valid tests/standards.
 Autonomy given to authority not expert in
the subject of Measurement and Evaluation
is delaying excellence in education.
 1. Non implementation of National Policy
of Education and UNESCO Charter of PE,
PA & Sports (2015) where no education to
students is valid without teaching
Physical Education and the skills of
Physical Activity and Sports.
 2. Non –existence of standards definitions
of Education and Physical Education in
India.
