FIROZABAD BANGLES WITH
IMAGES OF LORD RAM
REACH AYODHYA
Over 10,000 ban-
gles from Firozabad
reached Ayodhya on
Thursday and were handed
over to the Shri Ram Janmb-
hoomi Teerth Kshetra trust in
the presence of Uttar Pradesh
Tourism Minister Jaiveer
Singh. “Firozabad is famous
for its glass industry. Its ban-
gles are famous everywhere.
These bangles have been
brought by Firozabad trad-
ers and 10,000 bangles have
been formally handed over to
the temple trust. They will be
distributed among devotees
by the trust,” Singh said.
n December 6, 1992, the
crowd became furious
and demolished the dis-
puted structure in Ayod-
hya. It is said that more
than 1.5 lakh Kar Sevaks
were present there at that
time.After this, commu-
nal riots broke across the country and
more than 2,000 people were killed in
these riots. An FIR was registered in
the case and 49 people were accused
in it. After this incident, many major
changes took place in the social and
political atmosphere in the country.
During this period, many govern-
ments changed both at the Centre and
States, leadership changed and the po-
litical scenario also changed, but Ayo-
dhya could not get a temple for Ram.
However, the matter came out of the
political corridors and reached the
doorstep of the Supreme Court.
PV NARASIMHA RAO DISMISSES
BJP GOVTS IN FOUR STATES
Meanwhile, taking a big step, the Rao
government dismissed the BJPgovern-
ments of four states on the issue of
deteriorating law and order situation.
President’s rule was imposed by dis-
missing the BJPgovernments of Kaly-
an Singh in Uttar Pradesh, Shanta Ku-
mar in Himachal Pradesh, Bhairon
Singh Shekhawat in Rajasthan and
Sunder Lal Patwa in Madhya Pradesh.
This was the first time in the country
that the Center dismissed four govern-
ments simultaneously.
However, the BJP got a strategic
benefit from this and after that party
made a stronger comeback in all four
states. After this incident, Hindutva
politics intensified in the country, and
divisions were also drawn among the
political parties.
While the BJP took the path of Hin-
dutva, many parties stood in favour of
Muslims.Accordingtopoliticalexperts,
it was only after the Babri Masjid inci-
dent that religion-based politics gained
momentum in the country, which politi-
cal parties took full advantage of.
BJP GETS MAXIMUM BENEFIT
OF RAM MANDIR ISSUE
BJPgot the maximum benefit from the
issue of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya
because the allegations in this matter
were being levelled against BJP only.
BJP even included the Ram Mandir is-
sue in its manifesto and the party lead-
ers reiterated their commitment to
build the Ram Temple at every plat-
form. The BJP also raised the issue of
dismissal of governments in four states
prominently. Meanwhile, the BJP got
the full benefit of the environment cre-
ated in favour of the temple and the
wave of Hindutva.
Riding on the wave of Ram Mandir,
the saffron party attained power at the
Center for the first time. In the General
Elections held in 1996, BJPemerged as
the largest party and under the leader-
ship of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP
formedthegovernmentattheCentrefor
the first time. However, due to not being
able to prove an absolute majority, that
government could last only for 13 days.
After two years, the BJP once again re-
turned to power in the Lok Sabha elec-
tions and Vajpayee became the Prime
Minister for the second time. Vajpayee
raised his voice for Ram Temple from
Parliament to the streets. Even during
the trust vote of the 13-day government
in 1996, he had said that since the pub-
lic had not given him a majority, he
believed in governing by building a
consensus with allies, and if the BJP
gets a majority then concrete steps
would be taken on Ram Mandir,Article
370 and Uniform Civil Code. This
eventually happened in 2014 under the
leadership of PM Narendra Modi, when
the BJP, reaching the majority figures,
fulfilled the first two out of three prom-
ises during its governance while work
is also underway on the third issue.
TWO FIRs WERE REGISTERED
IN THE CASE, AND 49 ACCUSED
Two FIRs were registered in the dis-
puted structure demolition case. The
first FIR was registered in the name of
those Kar Sevaks who were accused of
robbery, causing hurt, looting, damag-
ing a place of public worship and in-
creasing animosity between two com-
munities in the name of religion. The
accused included BJPand VHPleaders
like LK Advani, Uma Bharti, Dr Mur-
li Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh,
Champat Rai and Kamlesh Tripathi.
The case continued in the court for 28
years and on 30 September 2021, the
CBI Court of Lucknow acquitted all
the accused due to lack of evidence. By
the time of the verdict, only 32 out of
49 accused were left, the remaining 17
accused had died.
LIBERHAN COMMISSION REPORT
SUBMITTED AFTER 17 YEARS!
Ten days after the incident, a commis-
sion was formed under the chairman-
ship of Justice MS Liberhan to investi-
gate the alleged conspiracy behind the
demolition. The commission was sup-
posed to submit its report in three
months but it took 17 years for the in-
vestigation report to come. During this
period the time limit was extended 48
times. The Commission submitted its
report to the Home Ministry on June
30, 2009. A total of Rs 8 crore was
spent during this period. On the basis
of the investigation report, CBI was
given the responsibility of investigat-
ing all these cases. However, on Octo-
ber 8, 1993, the Uttar Pradesh govern-
ment issued a notification to hear all the
cases related to it in the Special Court
of Lucknow. In 1996, the Special Court
issued an order adding the section on
criminal conspiracy in all its cases.Af-
ter this, this matter remained stuck in
legal complications for a long time.
SUPREME COURT CANCELLED
HIGH COURT’s DECISION
In the year 2017, the Supreme Court
cancelled the decision of theAllahabad
High Court and allegations of conspir-
acy were made again. Apart from this,
permission was given to hear both the
cases together. Supreme Court issued
an order to re-impose conspiracy
charges against several accused includ-
ing Advani and 20 others. The court
also fixed the time limit for the hearing.
First, a deadline of two years was given
and then it was extended by nine more
months. On August 30, 2022, the Su-
preme Court closed all cases related to
the Babri Masjid demolition.

HOW THINGS UNFOLDED
In 2003, CBI filed a

not add charges of
criminal conspiracy in it. The Rae
Bareli Court held a hearing and
acquitted LK Advani saying that
there was not enough evidence
against him.
In the year 2005, Al-

Bareli Court and said that cases
would proceed against Advani and
others. Rae Bareli Court framed
charges in this entire case.
In 2007, testimony took place for the
first time in this case and two years
later, the probe report of the Liberhan
Commission came, in which leaders of Sangh
Parivar, VHP and Bajrang Dal were held re-
sponsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid.
In 2010, the decision taken by the
lower court to try both cases separately
was upheld by the Allahabad High
Court. The High Court said that there were
two types of accused in this entire case. First,
those who were instigating the Kar Sevaks
from the stage at a distance of 200 meters from
the mosque. Second, those Kar Sevaks who
demolished the structure.

hen told
about the an-
cient Indian
concept of
‘ M a y a , ’
which holds that the world
is an illusion, most people
bothEastandWestshrugoff
the notion. If they ponder
‘Maya’ at all, they relegate
it to metaphysics, which is
justaseasytodisregard.But
a century after the quantum
revolution in physics,
‘Maya’ is more relevant
than ever, because its mean-
ing pertains to something as
intimate to us as our brain.
Themysteryofthehuman
brain is easily summarized:
How does a watery mass of
organicchemicalsmanageto
think? I think there is an an-
swer, which is given in my
new book, Quantum Body.
For a very long time, the
mysterygotnofurtherthana
famousquip:“Whatismind?
No matter. What is matter,
nevermind.”Thequiprefers
to the impossibility of con-
necting the physical world
with the non-physical do-
main of consciousness.
You are conscious, of
which there is no doubt.
Chemicalsaren’tconscious,
which is equally undenia-
ble. The gap between these
two statements is unbridge-
able—until you consider
the quantum. In the earliest
daysofthequantumrevolu-
tion around 1900, a number
of the theory’s greatest pro-
ponents traced conscious-
nesstothequantumfield.In
a simple way, the quantum
fieldprovidesthesourcefor
everything.
That it is the source of
space, time, matter, and en-
ergy was posited then and
holds true now. But “eve-
rything” must include the
mind, and that was the rub.
The mind isn’t quantum.
No amount of data, meas-
urement, and experimenta-
tion at the quantum level—
or anywhere else—can
explain what an experience
is. The colour of a rose ex-
pressed in wavelengths of
light has nothing to do with
seeing it as ‘red.’
The same is true of all
fivesenses.Currentresearch
hastracedsmell,vision,and
touch to quantum process-
es—your retina, for exam-
ple, can register a single
photon, the quantum parti-
cle associated with light.
But photons are invisible.
They become bright only
through our perception.
To a neuroscientist, this
fact solves the riddle of
mind and brain. The brain
allows us to see, and to per-
form every other mental
process. Unfortunately,
thisiswhere‘Maya’throws
a monkey wrench into the
machinery. There is no
light in the brain, no bright-
ness, no pictures, or any-
thing but the firing of faint
electrical charges and the
exchange of ionized chem-
icals in the visual cortex.
Take away the light,
brightness, and images,
and the experience of see-
ing is gone. It stands to rea-
son that your brain doesn’t
see, and once this point is
conceded, it is the opening
edge of the wedge. If the
brain doesn’t see, then it
doesn’t possess any of the
five senses. If that’s true,
then the brain has no expe-
rience—and yet you do.
‘Maya’ exposes the fal-
lacy that the brain is the
same as the mind. Neuro-
science would adamantly
deny this, because the en-
tire basis of brain science
for 99% of neuroscientists,
is that brain = mind.We are
living in the golden age of
MRI and other brain imag-
ing that can view brain ac-
tivity as it occurs. Imaging
has become so sophisti-
cated that patterns of neu-
ral activity will soon be
precise enough, we are
told, that they can be linked
to individual thoughts.
Thatseemstosupportthe
assumption that brain =
mind, but it doesn’t. Imag-
ine that a player piano,
which plays music without
a pianist, fell into the midst
of a StoneAge tribe in New
Guinea. They could be ex-
cused for believing that the
piano understands music
and is responsible for com-
posing it (old-fashioned
player pianos used paper
rollswithinsertedholesthat
triggered the instrument’s
mechanism; modern ones
operate electronically).
For all of its sophistica-
tion, neuroscience falls for
the same illusion. It be-
lieves that the brain, since it
has the machinery corre-
sponding to thoughts, feel-
ings, sensations, and im-
ages, must be composing
our experience. The differ-
ence from a StoneAge tribe
in New Guinea is that the
player piano can be under-
stoodbyunravellingitsme-
chanics—the brain can’t.
But ‘Maya’ and the
quantum revolution have
deeper ties.The elementary
particles that constitute the
first stage of creation aren’t
like ordinary physical
“things.” This was made
clear by the great physicist
Werner Heisenberg when
he declared, “The atoms or
elementary particles them-
selves are not real; they
form a world of potentiali-
ties or possibilities rather
than one of things or facts.”
Here is the vital link be-
tween mind and matter:
both originate as possibili-
ties, not things or facts.The
next thought you have and
the next word you utter ex-
ist beforehand only as pos-
sibilities. Therefore, you
think and speak at that
level all the time. The same
holds true for an experi-
ence. You experience eve-
rything in the “real” world
withallofitssights,sounds,
smells, textures, and tastes,
but that is pure illusion.
Experience begins in no
specific location because
the quantum field has no
location in time and space.
Your senses are quantum
once you understand where
they originate, not in the il-
lusory physical world.
Therefore, your brain, be-
ing a ting, is also illusory.
‘Maya’ and quantum me-
chanics agree on this point.
Very quickly modern
physics moved away from
a theory of mind and set its
course for physical experi-
mentation, like all the other
sciences. But this decision
doesn’t invalidate Heisen-
berg’s insight. But where
does this insight actually
get you? Medicine needs to
address maladies of the
brain that correspond to de-
pression, anxiety, and psy-
chosis, not to mention brain
tumors and other physical
disorders. It seems point-
less to say that medicine is
being fooled by an illusion.
The reason it matters was
summarised by another
great quantum pioneer, Er-
winSchrödinger,whowasa
great student of Vedic phi-
losophy and particularly of
its main documents, known
as the Upanishads. “The
Upanishads are the most
comprehensive philosophi-
cal treatise ever written by
man. They are based on an
ancientidea,asoldasIndian
thought itself, that the most
profound reality is One and
that this One is identical
with our own Self.”
In those words is the rea-
son why the meeting up of
‘Maya’ and the quantum
field matters so much. It
brings us close to under-
standing wholeness (the
One)andseeingthatwhole-
ness is our basic nature. We
are not body, mind, and
spirit as if these are separate
compartments. We do not
have to achieve wholeness,
because we are whole to be-
gin with.The seamless join-
ing of mind and brain is the
answer, not the riddle. Once
we start with wholeness as
the most basic fact of exist-
ence, many old riddles are
solved, and we can begin to
live the mystery rather than
be baffled by it.

PAK DESERVES IRAN
SURGICAL STRIKE
ON TERROR HAVEN
BASIC EDUCATION NEEDS
URGENT ATTENTION
he intertwining of terrorism and Pakistan re-
mains a concern as state actors from Pakistan
persistently support acts of terror in India.
Terrorists undergo training in both Pakistan and at
camps in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir region.
Faced with the recurrent onslaught of attacks on India,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took decisive action
following the loss of 19 soldiers in the Uri sector. In
response, he ordered a surgical strike on terrorist ha-
vens in PoK, signalling a robust stance against the
menace of cross-border terrorism. This strategic move
reflected India’s commitment to safeguard its citizens
and sends a clear message that it will not tolerate the
harbouring of terrorists by its neighbour.
Now an India-like surgical strike has been carried
out by Iran on Sunni terrorist bases in Pakistan’s Ba-
lochistan province. Iran said that it repeatedly warned
Islamabad about the Jaish al-Adl terror group using
Pakistani soil to launch attacks on Instead of a tit-for-
tat retaliatory action on Iran, Pakistan should stop
sponsoring terrorists.

he Annual Status of Education Report
(ASER) offers a stark portrayal of the edu-
cational landscape in rural India, revealing
alarming deficiencies in basic educational skills
among children.Anotable concern is the inability of
a significant number of children, particularly those
aged 14 to 18, to perform rudimentary mathematical
tasks like dividing a three-digit number. Moreover,
the report highlights a deficiency in time calculation,
as these youngsters struggle to determine the hours
of sleep from bedtime. Even measuring the length of
an object on a scale poses a challenge for many re-
spondents, particu-
larly when the object
is positioned slightly
away from the start-
ing point at “0.”
This revelation
carries profound im-
plications for their
future employability,
with a substantial
portion facing the
prospect of entering
the job market with
inadequate skill sets.
The limited ability to
perform tasks be-
yond manual labour
hampers their poten-
tial contributions to a
more diverse array of
professions. The AS-
ER’s findings underscore the urgency of addressing
fundamental educational shortcomings in rural areas,
emphasizing the need for targeted interventions to
enhance mathematical and analytical skills.
As these young individuals prepare form a big
chunk of the demographic dividend, bridging these
educational gaps becomes imperative for fostering a
workforce equipped with the skills required “not just
for academic advancement but also to traverse daily
life”. The positive part of the finding was that the
dropout for livelihood was not worrisome.According
to ASER, “Overall, 86.8 percent of youth between
the age of 14 and 18 years are enrolled in educa-
tional institutions.” A total of 34,745 children were
surveyed in 28 districts.

PRESIDENT MURMU TO WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS
“Identify, support other enterprising women”
PTI
New Delhi
resident Drou-
padi Murmu on
Thursday urged
women entrepreneurs to
identify other enterpris-
ing women and think of
new ways to support
them in their journey of
empowerment.
She said there are
many women who dream
of being financially inde-
pendent, but they do not
know what path they
should take to achieve
this goal. Interacting with
a group of women, who
are founders and co-
founders of leading start-
ups and unicorns, at the
Rashtrapati Bhavan here,
Murmu said their success
should create a ripple ef-
fect so that “we can hear
such success stories from
all parts of the country”.
We should resolve to
work together to build an
India where every woman
is empowered and every
young woman moves for-
ward with confidence to
fulfilherdreams,shesaid.
The president urged
the women entrepreneurs
to identify other enter-
prising women and think
of new ways to support
them in their journey of
empowerment.
Thursday’s meeting
took place under the ini-
tiative--”The President
with the People”--that
aims to establish a deeper
connection with people
and recognise their con-
tributions. During the
interaction, the president
said these women entre-
preneurs have changed
the Indian business envi-
ronment. From tech start-
ups to social enterprises,
their work gives an im-
pressive insight into the
diverse dimensions of
Indian women’s capabili-
ties in the world of entre-
preneurship, she said.
Murmu said their con-
tribution is not limited to
economic development.
“They have broken
traditional barriers and
shown the path of em-
powerment to future
generations,” the presi-
dent said.

“Transparentsystem,honest

New Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi asserted on Thurs-
day that a transparent sys-
tem put in by his govern-
ment, its honest efforts
and emphasis on people’s
participation have led to
nearly 25 crore people
being lifted out of pov-
erty in the last nine years.
Nobody could have
thought that poverty in
India can decline but the
poor has shown that it
can be if they are given
resources, he said in an
address during a virtual
interaction with benefi-
ciaries of the ‘Viksit
Bharat Sankalp Yatra’.
Citing a NitiAayog re-
port, which highlighted
the decline in poverty,
Modi said India has pre-
sented a model to other
countries in helping the
poor and has drawn glob-
al attention. He said the
Yatra has met success be-
yond his imagination and
his government is likely
to extend its deadline be-
yond January 26 due to an
increasing demand from
the masses that the vehi-
cles meant to publicise
welfare schemes and en-
list more beneficiaries
should visit their places.
IT IS MY GOVERNMENT’S PRIORITY TO BOOST
RURAL ECONOMY AND EMPOWER FARMERS: MODI
Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted as to how crores
of people have got bank accounts and opportunities
to do something on their own. Over four crore poor
families have got a house of their own in the last 10 years and
owners of 70% of them are women, which has boosted their
empowerment, PM Modi said. The average period to build
the house for the poor has come down to nearly 100 days
from 300 days earlier, he said. It is his government’s priority
to boost rural economy and empower farmers, he said.
India is changing
rapidly. People’s
self-confidence,
trust in government
and the resolve to
build a new India is

fashion isn’t
just about
clothing it’s a
statement that
sears its way
into the collective conscious-
ness. Designers are embracing
the concept of deliberate
scorching, using controlled
burns to create intricate pat-
terns and textures on garments.
The result is a unique blend of
destruction and creation,
where the scorched edges tell
a story of resilience and
transformation.
This trend challenges con-
ventional notions of beauty
and perfection, urging fash-
ion enthusiasts to embrace
imperfections and celebrate
the scars that make each
piece one-of-a-kind. Cau-
terized fashion demands
attention, with its gar-
ments bearing the marks
of their creation process
as badges of honour.
The use of fire as a de-
sign element introduces
an element of danger
and unpredictability,
making each piece a
living, evolving enti-
ty. Fashion shows
featuring Cauterize
collections are elec-
trifying events, as models strut
down the runway adorned in
charred elegance, embodying
the spirit of rebirth and rein-
vention.
Beyond aesthetics, Cauterize
fashion also sparks conversa-
tions about sustainability. De-
signers are exploring ways to
repurpose and upcycle cloth-
ing, breathing new life into old
pieces through controlled burn-
ing techniques. This sustaina-
ble approach aligns with the
industry’s growing commit-
ment to environmental con-
sciousness.
As Cauterize fashion gains
momentum, it’s not just limited
to apparel. Accessories, foot-
wear, and even home decor are
catching the flame, offering
enthusiasts a chance to incor-
porate this scorching trend into
various aspects of their lives.
However, as with any trend
pushing boundaries, Cauterize
fashion raises ethical consider-
ations. Critics question the po-
tential dangers associated with
incorporating fire into wearable
art and the environmental im-
pact of deliberately scorching
materials. Striking a balance
between innovation and re-
sponsible practices will be cru-
cial for the continued evolution
of this fiery fashion movement.

ishee Miglani, un-
der the expert
guidance of Coach
Ajay Singh, fol-
lows a disciplined
daily routine that
sets the tone for his
fitness journey. Beginning with a nu-
tritious breakfast comprising oats, an
omelette and coffee, Rishee then
dives into his workout routine at the
gym, a testament to his commitment
to health. With a six-day-a-week
training schedule, dedicating an hour
each day, Rishee exemplifies the
dedication needed to maintain
a fit and healthy lifestyle.
When it comes to workout
preferences, Rishee finds joy
in engaging his chest muscles,
leveraging their inherent
strength. Simultaneously, he
focuses on shoulder workouts,
recognizing the need to fortify
this muscle group. CoachAjay
Singh tailors workouts that
strike a balance between rein-
forcing existing strengths and
addressing areas that require
development, ensuring a holis-
tic approach to fitness. Like
many fitness enthusiasts, Rishee
has a workout aspect that he tends to
overlook, leg workouts. However,
under Coach Ajay Singh's guidance,
he has gradually incorporated lower
body exercises into his routine. This
strategic approach aims to create a
comprehensive fitness regimen that
leaves no muscle group unattended.
In the realm of indulgence, Rish-
ee's guilty pleasure lies in Italian
cuisine. Coach Ajay Singh recog-
nises the importance of balance in a
fitness journey and allows Rishee to
enjoy cheat meals twice a week.
These meals often feature Italian de-
lights rich in cheese and wheat flour,
providing a delicious yet controlled
deviation from the regular dietary
plan. Additionally, Rishee's fond-
ness for wine is accommodated with
two designated days in a week for
this guilty pleasure. Coach Ajay
Singh doesn't merely focus on work-
out routines but also emphasizes the
significance of dietary choices. Rec-
ommending a diverse approach,
Coach Ajay encourages Rishee to
adopt a vegan lifestyle periodically.
This flexible approach aligns with
Rishee's travel plans and the prevail-
ing weather conditions, showcasing
the adaptability of Coach Ajay's
strategies.
Furthermore, Coach Ajay Singh
advocates for the inclusion of tradi-
tional Indian fare in Rishee's diet.
Emphasizing foods like ghee, bajre ki
roti, saag, and other seasonal of-
ferings, Coach Ajay aims to
strike a balance between mod-
ern dietary preferences and the
nutrient-rich options that Indi-
an cuisine offers. This holistic
approach to nutrition aligns
with CoachAjay's philosophy,
focusing not only on physical
fitness but also on the overall
well-being of his clients. In
essence, Coach Ajay Sin-
gh's expertise extends
beyond sculpting bodies;
it encompasses a com-
prehensive approach to
health and fitness.
Through individualized
workout plans, strategic
dietary recommenda-
tions, and a keen un-
derstanding of his
clients' preferences,
Coach Ajay Singh
stands as a pillar
of support in
their journey to
a healthier
lifestyle.

STARS ALIGN FOR RAM MANDIR'S GRAND UNVEILING!
Bollywood's elite and sports icons
converge for Ayodhya's historic Ram
Mandir consecration on January 22. A
star-studded affair blending culture
and glamour,
promising a
blockbuster
celebration of
unity
n January
22, 2024, a
h i s t o r i c
spectacle is
set to un-
fold as the
Shri Ram Janmbhoomi
Teerth Kshetra orchestrates
the pran pratistha ceremony
of the long-awaited Ram
Mandir in Ayodhya. This
monumental event has gar-
nered immense attention,
extending invitations to a
star-studded lineup that in-
cludes luminaries from the
Bollywood industry and re-
nowned sports icons.
The saga of the Ram
Mandir has been etched in
the annals of India's history
for over five centuries,
marred by legal battles and
national discourse. How-
ever, the wheels of progress
gained momentum after the
landmark decision by the
Supreme Court in Novem-
ber 2019, ruling in favor of
the Hindu claimants and
paving the way for the con-
struction of the temple at
the disputed Ayodhya site.
The anticipation sur-
rounding the pran pratistha
ceremony is reaching a cre-
scendo, with Bollywood A-
listers such as Akshay Ku-
mar, Rajnikanth, Ranbir
Kapoor, Alia Bhatt,
Dhanush, Prabhas, Kangana
Ranaut,Amitabh Bachchan,
and Jacky Sheriff set to
grace the occasion. Their
presence adds a glitzy di-
mension to this sacred
event, capturing the atten-
tion of not only the nation
but also the global audience.
The decision of the Shri
Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth
Kshetra to extend in-
vitations to en-
tertainment and sports icons
underscores the inclusive
spirit of the ceremony.Arun
Govil, the revered actor who
portrayed Lord Ram in the
iconic TV serial Rama-
yan, stands among the in-
vitees, symbolizing the har-
monious amalgamation of
cultural and religious facets.
Cricketing legends Virat
Kohli and SachinTendulkar,
representing the sports fra-
ternity, will join the constel-
lation of stars at this mo-
mentous event. Their par-
ticipation emphasizes the
diverse representation of
Indian society, transcending
boundaries and unifying
citizens in celebration.
For the Hindu commu-
nity, the pran pratistha
marks the culmination of a
patient wait spanning over
500 years, evoking a sense
of elation and pride. The
collective excitement
among Indians, including
celebrities and sports
icons, underscores the
cultural and emo-
tional signifi-
cance attached to this auspi-
cious occasion.
Beyond its religious im-
plications, the consecration
of the Ram Mandir is poised
to become a catalyst for
temple tourism inAyodhya.
Pilgrims and tourists from
across the globe are ex-
pected to converge on
this sacred city, usher-
ing in an era of cul-
tural and economic
resurgence.
As the nation ea-
gerly awaits the grand
spectacle on January 22,
the convergence of Indian
icons from Bollywood and
sports amplifies the univer-
sal significance of the pran
pratistha ceremony. It sym-
bolizes not just a religious
landmark but also a testa-
ment to the unity in diver-
sity that defines India.

Today, six postage stamps dedicated to the Ram Temple were released. Besides, a book of stamps issued on Lord Ram around the world was also released. NARENDRA MODI, PRIME MINISTER Everyone came with Bharatji. Due to the separation from Shri Raghuvir, everyone had become very weak. When the Lord saw the eminent sages like Vamadeva and Vashishtha, he placed his bow and arrow on the earth. IMD LAUNCHES WEBPAGE FOR WEATHER UPDATES FOR AYODHYA With four days remain- ing for the consecra- tion ceremony at the Ram temple, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday launched a dedicated webpage to provide weather-related information for Ayodhya and important nearby areas. The webpage contains information on all weather parameters, including temper- ature, precipitation, humidity, and wind patterns in major languages spoken worldwide, such as Hindi, English, Urdu, Chinese, French, and Span- ish. Weather information for Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, and New Delhi, among other important places, is available on the webpage. FIROZABAD BANGLES WITH IMAGES OF LORD RAM REACH AYODHYA Over 10,000 ban- gles from Firozabad reached Ayodhya on Thursday and were handed over to the Shri Ram Janmb- hoomi Teerth Kshetra trust in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh. “Firozabad is famous for its glass industry. Its ban- gles are famous everywhere. These bangles have been brought by Firozabad trad- ers and 10,000 bangles have been formally handed over to the temple trust. They will be distributed among devotees by the trust,” Singh said. n December 6, 1992, the crowd became furious and demolished the dis- puted structure in Ayod- hya. It is said that more than 1.5 lakh Kar Sevaks were present there at that time. After this, commu- nal riots broke across the country and more than 2,000 people were killed in these riots. An FIR was registered in the case and 49 people were accused in it. After this incident, many major changes took place in the social and political atmosphere in the country. During this period, many govern- ments changed both at the Centre and States, leadership changed and the po- litical scenario also changed, but Ayo- dhya could not get a temple for Ram. However, the matter came out of the political corridors and reached the doorstep of the Supreme Court. PV NARASIMHA RAO DISMISSES BJP GOVTS IN FOUR STATES Meanwhile, taking a big step, the Rao government dismissed the BJPgovern- ments of four states on the issue of deteriorating law and order situation. President’s rule was imposed by dis- missing the BJPgovernments of Kaly- an Singh in Uttar Pradesh, Shanta Ku- mar in Himachal Pradesh, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in Rajasthan and Sunder Lal Patwa in Madhya Pradesh. This was the first time in the country that the Center dismissed four govern- ments simultaneously. However, the BJP got a strategic benefit from this and after that party made a stronger comeback in all four states. After this incident, Hindutva politics intensified in the country, and divisions were also drawn among the political parties. While the BJP took the path of Hin- dutva, many parties stood in favour of Muslims.Accordingtopoliticalexperts, it was only after the Babri Masjid inci- dent that religion-based politics gained momentum in the country, which politi- cal parties took full advantage of. BJP GETS MAXIMUM BENEFIT OF RAM MANDIR ISSUE BJPgot the maximum benefit from the issue of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya because the allegations in this matter were being levelled against BJP only. BJP even included the Ram Mandir is- sue in its manifesto and the party lead- ers reiterated their commitment to build the Ram Temple at every plat- form. The BJP also raised the issue of dismissal of governments in four states prominently. Meanwhile, the BJP got the full benefit of the environment cre- ated in favour of the temple and the wave of Hindutva. Riding on the wave of Ram Mandir, the saffron party attained power at the Center for the first time. In the General Elections held in 1996, BJPemerged as the largest party and under the leader- ship of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP formedthegovernmentattheCentrefor the first time. However, due to not being able to prove an absolute majority, that government could last only for 13 days. After two years, the BJP once again re- turned to power in the Lok Sabha elec- tions and Vajpayee became the Prime Minister for the second time. Vajpayee raised his voice for Ram Temple from Parliament to the streets. Even during the trust vote of the 13-day government in 1996, he had said that since the pub- lic had not given him a majority, he believed in governing by building a consensus with allies, and if the BJP gets a majority then concrete steps would be taken on Ram Mandir,Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code. This eventually happened in 2014 under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, when the BJP, reaching the majority figures, fulfilled the first two out of three prom- ises during its governance while work is also underway on the third issue. TWO FIRs WERE REGISTERED IN THE CASE, AND 49 ACCUSED Two FIRs were registered in the dis- puted structure demolition case. The first FIR was registered in the name of those Kar Sevaks who were accused of robbery, causing hurt, looting, damag- ing a place of public worship and in- creasing animosity between two com- munities in the name of religion. The accused included BJPand VHPleaders like LK Advani, Uma Bharti, Dr Mur- li Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Champat Rai and Kamlesh Tripathi. Ten days after the incident, a commis- sion was formed under the chairman- ship of Justice MS Liberhan to investi- gate the alleged conspiracy behind the demolition. The commission was sup- posed to submit its report in three months but it took 17 years for the in- vestigation report to come. During this period the time limit was extended 48 times. The Commission submitted its report to the Home Ministry on June 30, 2009. A total of Rs 8 crore was spent during this period. On the basis of the investigation report, CBI was given the responsibility of investigat- ing all these cases. However, on Octo- ber 8, 1993, the Uttar Pradesh govern- ment issued a notification to hear all the cases related to it in the Special Court of Lucknow. In 1996, the Special Court issued an order adding the section on criminal conspiracy in all its cases.Af- ter this, this matter remained stuck in legal complications for a long time. SUPREME COURT CANCELLED HIGH COURT’s DECISION In the year 2017, the Supreme Court cancelled the decision of theAllahabad High Court and allegations of conspir- acy were made again. Apart from this, permission was given to hear both the cases together. Supreme Court issued an order to re-impose conspiracy charges against several accused includ- ing Advani and 20 others. The court also fixed the time limit for the hearing. First, a deadline of two years was given and then it was extended by nine more months. On August 30, 2022, the Su- preme Court closed all cases related to the Babri Masjid demolition. That it is the source of space, time, matter, and en- ergy was posited then and holds true now. But “eve- rything” must include the mind, and that was the rub. The mind isn’t quantum. No amount of data, meas- urement, and experimenta- tion at the quantum level— or anywhere else—can explain what an experience is. The colour of a rose ex- pressed in wavelengths of light has nothing to do with seeing it as ‘red.’ The same is true of all fivesenses.Currentresearch hastracedsmell, vision, and touch to quantum process- es—your retina, for exam- ple, can register a single photon, the quantum parti- cle associated with light. But photons are invisible. They become bright only through our perception. To a neuroscientist, this fact solves the riddle of mind and brain. The brain allows us to see, and to per- form every other mental process. Unfortunately, thisiswhere‘Maya’throws a monkey wrench into the machinery. There is no light in the brain, no bright- ness, no pictures, or any- thing but the firing of faint electrical charges and the exchange of ionized chem- icals in the visual cortex. Take away the light, brightness, and images, and the experience of see- ing is gone. It stands to rea- son that your brain doesn’t see, and once this point is conceded, it is the opening edge of the wedge. If the brain doesn’t see, then it doesn’t possess any of the five senses. If that’s true, then the brain has no expe- rience—and yet you do. ‘Maya’ exposes the fal- lacy that the brain is the same as the mind. Neuro- science would adamantly deny this, because the en- tire basis of brain science for 99% of neuroscientists, is that brain = mind.We are living in the golden age of MRI and other brain imag- ing that can view brain ac- tivity as it occurs. Imaging has become so sophisti- cated that patterns of neu- ral activity will soon be precise enough, we are told, that they can be linked to individual thoughts. Thatseemstosupportthe assumption that brain = mind, but it doesn’t. Imag- ine that a player piano, which plays music without a pianist, fell into the midst of a StoneAge tribe in New Guinea. They could be ex- cused for believing that the piano understands music and is responsible for com- posing it (old-fashioned player pianos used paper rollswithinsertedholesthat triggered the instrument’s mechanism; modern ones operate electronically). For all of its sophistica- tion, neuroscience falls for the same illusion. It be- lieves that the brain, since it has the machinery corre- sponding to thoughts, feel- ings, sensations, and im- ages, must be composing our experience. The differ- ence from a StoneAge tribe in New Guinea is that the player piano can be under- stoodbyunravellingitsme- chanics—the brain can’t. But ‘Maya’ and the quantum revolution have deeper ties. The elementary particles that constitute the first stage of creation aren’t like ordinary physical “things.” This was made clear by the great physicist Werner Heisenberg when he declared, “The atoms or elementary particles them- selves are not real; they form a world of potentiali- ties or possibilities rather than one of things or facts.” Here is the vital link be- tween mind and matter: both originate as possibili- ties, not things or facts. The next thought you have and the next word you utter ex- ist beforehand only as pos- sibilities. Therefore, you think and speak at that level all the time. The same holds true for an experi- ence. You experience eve- rything in the “real” world withallofitssights, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes, but that is pure illusion. Experience begins in no specific location because the quantum field has no location in time and space. Your senses are quantum once you understand where they originate, not in the il- lusory physical world. Therefore, your brain, be- ing a ting, is also illusory. ‘Maya’ and quantum me- chanics agree on this point. Very quickly modern physics moved away from a theory of mind and set its course for physical experi- mentation, like all the other sciences. But this decision doesn’t invalidate Heisen- berg’s insight. But where does this insight actually get you? Medicine needs to address maladies of the brain that correspond to de- pression, anxiety, and psy- chosis, not to mention brain tumors and other physical disorders. It seems point- less to say that medicine is being fooled by an illusion. The reason it matters was summarised by another great quantum pioneer, Er- winSchrödinger, whowasa great student of Vedic phi- losophy and particularly of its main documents, known as the Upanishads. “The Upanishads are the most comprehensive philosophi- cal treatise ever written by man. They are based on an ancientidea, asoldasIndian thought itself, that the most profound reality is One and that this One is identical with our own Self.” In those words is the rea- son why the meeting up of ‘Maya’ and the quantum field matters so much. It brings us close to under- standing wholeness (the One)andseeingthatwhole- ness is our basic nature. We are not body, mind, and spirit as if these are separate compartments. We do not have to achieve wholeness, because we are whole to be- gin with. The seamless join- ing of mind and brain is the answer, not the riddle. Once we start with wholeness as the most basic fact of exist- ence, many old riddles are solved, and we can begin to live the mystery rather than be baffled by it. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL TOP TWEETS SPIRITUAL SPEAK For one who has conquered his mind, a mind is best of friends, but for one who has failed to do so, a mind is the greatest enemy. BHAGAVAD GITA MYSTERY OF THE MIND The mystery of the human brain is easily summarized: How does a watery mass of organic chemicals manage to think? I think there is an answer, which is given in my new book, Quantum Body. For a very long time, the mystery got no further than a famous quip: “What is mind? No matter. What is matter, never mind.” The quip refers to the impossibility of connecting the physical world with the non- physical domain of consciousness. Here is the vital link between mind and matter: both originate as possibilities, not things or facts. The next thought you have and the next word you utter exist beforehand only as possibilities. Therefore, you think and speak at that level all the time. The same holds true for an experience. You experience everything in the “real” world with all of its sights, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes, but that is pure illusion IN-DEPTH PAK DESERVES IRAN SURGICAL STRIKE ON TERROR HAVEN BASIC EDUCATION NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION he intertwining of terrorism and Pakistan re- mains a concern as state actors from Pakistan persistently support acts of terror in India. Terrorists undergo training in both Pakistan and at camps in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir region. Faced with the recurrent onslaught of attacks on India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took decisive action following the loss of 19 soldiers in the Uri sector. In response, he ordered a surgical strike on terrorist ha- vens in PoK, signalling a robust stance against the menace of cross-border terrorism. This strategic move reflected India’s commitment to safeguard its citizens and sends a clear message that it will not tolerate the harbouring of terrorists by its neighbour. Now an India-like surgical strike has been carried out by Iran on Sunni terrorist bases in Pakistan’s Ba- lochistan province. Iran said that it repeatedly warned Islamabad about the Jaish al-Adl terror group using Pakistani soil to launch attacks on Instead of a tit-for- tat retaliatory action on Iran, Pakistan should stop sponsoring terrorists. T he Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) offers a stark portrayal of the edu- cational landscape in rural India, revealing alarming deficiencies in basic educational skills among children.Anotable concern is the inability of a significant number of children, particularly those aged 14 to 18, to perform rudimentary mathematical tasks like dividing a three-digit number. Moreover, the report highlights a deficiency in time calculation, as these youngsters struggle to determine the hours of sleep from bedtime. Even measuring the length of an object on a scale poses a challenge for many re- spondents, particu- larly when the object is positioned slightly away from the start- ing point at “0.” This revelation carries profound im- plications for their future employability, with a substantial portion facing the prospect of entering the job market with inadequate skill sets. The limited ability to perform tasks be- yond manual labour hampers their poten- tial contributions to a more diverse array of professions. The AS- ER’s findings underscore the urgency of addressing fundamental educational shortcomings in rural areas, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions to enhance mathematical and analytical skills. As these young individuals prepare form a big chunk of the demographic dividend, bridging these educational gaps becomes imperative for fostering a workforce equipped with the skills required “not just for academic advancement but also to traverse daily life”. The positive part of the finding was that the dropout for livelihood was not worrisome.According to ASER, “Overall, 86.8 percent of youth between the age of 14 and 18 years are enrolled in educa- tional institutions.” A total of 34,745 children were surveyed in 28 districts. T A notable concern portrayed in the ASER is the inability of a significant number of children, particularly those aged 14 to 18, to perform rudimentary mathematical tasks like dividing a three- digit number W Aviation has the power to not only interlink the global economy but also act as an enabler for trade, tourism, and socioeconomic development of countries. Designers are embracing the concept of deliberate scorching, using controlled burns to create intricate pat- terns and textures on garments. The result is a unique blend of destruction and creation, where the scorched edges tell a story of resilience and transformation. This trend challenges con- ventional notions of beauty and perfection, urging fash- ion enthusiasts to embrace imperfections and celebrate the scars that make each piece one-of-a-kind. Cau- terized fashion demands attention, with its gar- ments bearing the marks of their creation process as badges of honour. The use of fire as a de- sign element introduces an element of danger and unpredictability, making each piece a living, evolving enti- ty. Fashion shows featuring Cauterize collections are elec- trifying events, as models strut down the runway adorned in charred elegance, embodying the spirit of rebirth and rein- vention. Beyond aesthetics, Cauterize fashion also sparks conversa- tions about sustainability. De- signers are exploring ways to repurpose and upcycle cloth- ing, breathing new life into old pieces through controlled burn- ing techniques. This sustaina- ble approach aligns with the industry’s growing commit- ment to environmental con- sciousness. As Cauterize fashion gains momentum, it’s not just limited to apparel. Accessories, foot- wear, and even home decor are catching the flame, offering enthusiasts a chance to incor- porate this scorching trend into various aspects of their lives. However, as with any trend pushing boundaries, Cauterize fashion raises ethical consider- ations. Critics question the po- tential dangers associated with incorporating fire into wearable art and the environmental im- pact of deliberately scorching materials. Bollywood's elite and sports icons converge for Ayodhya's historic Ram Mandir consecration on January 22. A star-studded affair blending culture and glamour, promising a blockbuster celebration of unity n January 22, 2024, a h i s t o r i c spectacle is set to un- fold as the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra orchestrates the pran pratistha ceremony of the long-awaited Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This monumental event has gar- nered immense attention, extending invitations to a star-studded lineup that in- cludes luminaries from the Bollywood industry and re- nowned sports icons. The saga of the Ram Mandir has been etched in the annals of India's history for over five centuries, marred by legal battles and national discourse. How- ever, the wheels of progress gained momentum after the landmark decision by the Supreme Court in Novem- ber 2019, ruling in favor of the Hindu claimants and paving the way for the con- struction of the temple at the disputed Ayodhya site. The anticipation sur- rounding the pran pratistha ceremony is reaching a cre- scendo, with Bollywood A- listers such as Akshay Ku- mar, Rajnikanth, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Dhanush, Prabhas, Kangana Ranaut,Amitabh Bachchan, and Jacky Sheriff set to grace the occasion. Their presence adds a glitzy di- mension to this sacred event, capturing the atten- tion of not only the nation but also the global audience. The decision of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra to extend in- vitations to en- tertainment and sports icons underscores the inclusive spirit of the ceremony.Arun Govil, the revered actor who portrayed Lord Ram in the iconic TV serial Rama- yan, stands among the in- vitees, symbolizing the har- monious amalgamation of cultural and religious facets. Cricketing legends Virat Kohli and SachinTendulkar, representing the sports fra- ternity, will join the constel- lation of stars at this mo- mentous event. Their par- ticipation emphasizes the diverse representation of Indian society, transcending boundaries and unifying citizens in celebration. For the Hindu commu- nity, the pran pratistha marks the culmination of a patient wait spanning over 500 years, evoking a sense of elation and pride. The collective excitement among Indians, including celebrities and sports icons, underscores the cultural and emo- tional signifi- cance attached to this auspi- cious occasion. Beyond its religious im- plications, the consecration of the Ram Mandir is poised to become a catalyst for temple tourism inAyodhya. Pilgrims and tourists from across the globe are ex- pected to converge on this sacred city, usher- ing in an era of cul- tural and economic resurgence. As the nation ea- gerly awaits the grand spectacle on January 22, the convergence of Indian icons from Bollywood and sports amplifies the univer- sal significance of the pran pratistha ceremony. It sym- bolizes not just a religious landmark but also a testa- ment to the unity in diver- sity that defines India. O Mohit Choudhary cityfirst@firstindia.co.in Sacred Stardom
