This document provides instructions for an activity to help students understand continental drift by reconstructing the supercontinent Pangaea. Students will cut out continents from a map and fit them together based on fossil and climate evidence. They will then observe and record the direction of motion as each continent moves to its current location. By completing this activity, students should be able to describe Pangaea, explain how fossil and climate evidence indicate past continental positions, and predict how continental movement may affect the future configuration of Earth's continents.
